You call it false advertising, I call it bioware lying to their fan base.

Same things, but you can be just trying to vent the flames. Keep it civil, people, since it only gets worse.

I mean, why is it that Tali's face, among other things, is a simple getty stock image photoshopped (and poorly)?

Notwithstanding i have the same wallpaper as the ending scene, but i had my wallpaper for 3 years. So, you know.

The point I wish this thread has is to call for explanations on these and other points, for reasons such as keeping these complaints out of the other threads like PR and charity drive but still amass another front of people demanding the answers.

So, who agrees? I'm looking for a simple agreement here, or disagreement if that is the case, but not to flame things up. Let's keep this unlocked by not breaking the policy.

Edit: spellz

This a great topic OP. I think that Bioware should defiantly look at this as they continue to gather feedback and plan for the future. We just have to keep this civil in order to make sure that they see it.

I've been actively posting these quotes on different sites to explain why the fans were expecting a different ending. Thanks

You hit the nail right on the head, OP. Any chance however of someone actively involved with fixing the ending at Bioware actually reading this?

it is indeed all about false advertisment and "lying" in interviews from bioware before release.

there wouldn't be such an outcry if you just promised stuff that you can also keep or better yet don't talk about it at all.

I still think that BioWare has produced some of the best games ever made though I wish that ME:3 would end in a way similar to ME:2. ME:2 was exciting, fun, and truly outstanding.

What worries me though is, if they do decide to do new endings, will they be able to just call up all the voice actors and whatnot and say "hey guyz, cancel all your plans and come back to[wherever studio they record voices is], we finally decided to fix what we started!" :P

Idk a whole lot about that stuff but unless its a legit, full add-on DLC or something(like Fallout 3's Brotherhood of Steel) then I dont think they can or will get everyone involved again just for a different ending. Hopefully they can though. :/

The statements from Bioware compiled in this thread are exactly what led me to believe it would be worth spending many hours bringing a character through ME1 and ME2, to see my choices have substantial meaning in ME3. I probably wouldn't have bought the game at launch without all of these reassurances.

I'm not saying I regret playing ME1 and ME2, but the discrepancy between what was promised in these quotes versus what was delivered have diminished my enjoyment of the entire trilogy. Sadly, I don't think any DLC can undo that.

I can understand why it is difficult to keep these threads civil, since I'm sure many feel they were made to look like fools. I've always been a fool, though, so Bioware's just pointed out the obvious.

Hi Bioware,

Thanks for re-opening this page. For my feedback to the ending and how it can be improved I would like to say that my views are the same as the original post on this discussion. Press statements have said that EA/Bioware would like us to tell them our thoughts on how to improve the ending. Please let us know what lines of communication you would like us to use (if email please let us know the email address you would like us to use).

This information would be appreciated.

To everyone else:

Keep it civil and state clearly what you think is wrong with the released product and make it clear to EA/Bioware what you would like changed.

Remember- HOLD THE LINE

I would bet that by now someone from the dev team did read this, or one of the other threads about this.
On the other hand, I highly doubt that they are going to comment this "issue".

It's just a shame that people would tell obviously wrong facts mere weeks before the game hits the market.
So much for my trust in devs in general. Guess this leaves Blizzard and Valve on my "if they say it'll be in the game, it's most probably true" list.

I believe it was mentioned somewhere that the Voice Actors are still retained in order to do future DLC.

It is false advertising. That being said, the majority of ME3 was epic.

The VO wasn't all done in studio and not together for the most part. Did you see where they used that new program so that they could record the VOs separately but have them sound like they were done together? The VO actors don't have to come in together. They can do it separately and probably even from different locations. Getting the VO recordings is really not that big of a deal unless the VO actors decided to get greedy.

EDIT..
crap sorry, here is my on topic response. If they hadn't have said that our choices would matter and that they wouldn't give us just an A.B,C ending when that is exacty what they did with no choice in ME3 affecting the ending in any way whatsoever as long as your EMS was at the proper level......then it wouldn't be such a bad thing.

It is FAR worse for them to have at the very least "misrepresented" the endings on purpose then it would be for them to have just provided the ending they did. People have a much more negative response to lying then they do to developers not giving them "every little thing they want" or an ending that meets with their expectations. I didn't like one of the endings for DAO but it did follow plot and lore. The reason I don't like any of the endings in ME3 is they don't follow lore or plot or the original trilogy core, AND we were promised something that simply didn't happen.

I also call false advertising. I said this from the moment on when I found out how many endings really exist.

I love the game, I just really disapprove of the ending. The ending was clearly not what was promised at all and I support the revolution of the fans (obviously including myself). I would like an ending that brought closure and clear answers to my main questions about the game, but its like they left enough loose ends to make a movie about. The decisions made in the previous two games had little impact on Mass Effect 3 as a whole and made the entire ending very unsatisfying and left too many questions remaining. Like I said, love the game, hate the ending.

This is why I can't trust buying any Bioware products in the future. They can promise the world on a new game and after they have my money and fail to deliver, they can count on IGN to call us entitled for expected what we were promised.

If the ending isn't fixed I'm done with Bioware.

There was also a statement somewhere that ME2 LI's would get equal treatment with ME1's LI's. If someone could find that quote....

Reading these again, and looking at what we received as an ending, I'm more convinced than ever that they just ran out of time and had no idea how to end things.

This list really does go right to the core of the issues with the ending. Good post!
