In my party I had Liara and Javik. Everything up to entering the elevator to go downstairs was fine.

After that...

1. framerate slowed down to 0fps with bursts of action. It was like playing a slide show; however

2. bringing up the power wheel allowed me to freely pan the camera around, use squad commands etc without difficulty. This is the only reason I completed the mission, and it took me 2 hours on normal!

3. Funny thing was that the performance got a lot better, almost normal, after the enemies in each section had been dealt with, but prior to the enemies appearing I had the slide show problem.

4. Even while the action was at 0fps the game registered my movements so I'd be at one point at one frame, then 2-3 metres forward at the next frame (if I was walking or running).

5. I'm not sure if it was a problem with the game reading from the bluray disc or something else. I haven't had this problem with any other games and up to this point ME3 performed fairly well in both SP and MP.

6. My system is a slim PS3 160Gb with around 40+GB free.

I have the same system with exactly the same amount of hd space. I had the occational frame rate issues but never at 0 have you tried going into ps3 safe mode and uncorruptibg ur hdd then defrag it. I promise you that will help out assuming that your issue.

Like it wont give u 30fps as bioware really needs to fix this game. I have a friend who bought a ps3 and decided that me3 would be his first game and loathe and behold he has the same issues.

I just played through this mission and had the frame rate problem, especially during the final Atlas battle. I have a 320 GB console.

Alright what you have to do is first make sure your ps3 is off and your control is connected via usb. Then your gonna hold down the power button its gonna beep a few times but disregard continue to hold it down until your ps3 turns back off. Once it turns off let go of the power button for a second then hold it back down again. Your gonna continue to hold it until you hear 2 beeps back to back. When this happens let go and its gonna ask you to plug your controler via usb and press the ps button when you do that your gonna see multiple options select number 3 its gonna check your hdd for massive errors and it will fix. It will restart the console after its done. Your gonna repeat the same process only this time select option 4 this is to defrag.

Remember to disregard any other numbers

First use number 3 then do the process again and choose option 4 any other option will reformat and erase all your stuff

Please let me know how that works out for you. If u noticed your xmb screen or your ps was acting slugish than you should see an improvement. Like i said its not gonna give you 30fps thats BioWares job but it should give you more than 0-10 fps

Thanks for the reply. I'll try it out tonight.

I was wondering whether it had anything to do with having Javik in my party, although I heard that all Javik's modelling, animations etc are already on disc

Tried out this solution last night and although I haven't played the Sur'kesh mission again I played the Rachni mission and it hasn't presented the same stuttering frame rate. I'll update if I encounter the problem again.
