If Bioware corrects the ending, how would you feel about the whole thing?

Here's my question.  Say in a month Bioware, without acknowledging their endings sucked, releases a big patch or DLC closing the plot holes, explaining the confusion and generally fixing it all up.

When it's all said and done, is your opinion of Bioware going to be better or worse than it was when you were running at the beam?  Are you going to be impressed with Bioware that they would show the humility to fix it?  Or are you still going to be annoyed at the whole thing, just not bat-**** pissed anymore?  (Or do you like it as is and don't want them to cave?)

I think my opinion of Bioware would actually be BETTER, because despite the fact that I think the ending blows, it takes some major cojones for a company to go back and correct their game.  Then again, that's probably because they're feeling some serious pressure.  But still.

So basically:  BIOWARE!  YOU CAN COME OUT OF THIS SMELLING LIKE A FREAKIN ROSE!

Thoughts?

Depends on how they do it but it can hardly be worse than it is now.

If they make the ending as emotional as Mordin's death scene I will love them forever.

If they add a 4th option to reject Star Child I'll feel right about it.

Probably file another positive mental note about bioware, enjoy the ending, and be just as devoted if not more so to bioware than i was before.

Really depends on how much they "correct" them.

I will be disappointed that it wasn't released with the game, but pleased that they were able to fix it. I will still be wary of them due to the current endings though.

How they handle it will define how they listened. There's no way everyone is getting what they wanted but if they manage to deliver on the main points people brought up as problems while keeping the game intact for those who liked the endings, my opinion will be extremely positive.

My opinon of Bioware will be better but not good enough to buy in another franchise/game. Quality of Bioware games is diminishing. There is probably nothing we or anyone can do to fix that. I hope they will be happy with their new fanbase.

Exactly.  I'm not the only one.  They REALLY hosed it, but still, more companies that really hose things don't spend their money to fix them unless forced to.

The rest of the game is fine. Its just that I found this cockroach (ghost boy) in the last bite of the meal.

Alot better.
They could've just ignored us and waited until we eventually gave up, the fact they have confirmed they're going to do something about the ending makes me respect them more.
It'll take time until it comes out though but I'm putting my faith in them, they sure have the talent available to end this on a high note.

As in another thread. They handled it spectacularly badly. I'll be happier as a player that the dreadful, nonsensical ending was in some way slightly fixed but would be highly wary of Bioware for the stunt, this depends on just how much it has been improved and gives options to the player.

Unless it came with a message saying - We goofed, big time. Sorry. We ran out of time, had intended that this was going to be the ending and really, really mishandled the promotion of this. Then I'd be ever more wary of them. I'd be glad they fixed their product to meet the expectations of a large number of their customers. I wouldn't be all flowers and unicorns though.

So they 'fixed' it without being forced? Where is the fix and ... ever heard of the Retake ME3 movement? First all the apologists and now you people are praising Bioware for fixing their ending 'without being forced'? Gotta be kidding me dude.

Depends how many new options are added, and what the outcomes are. I'll have no problem ignoring this whole mess if the Relays stay intact, and we at least have one option to let Shepard and his Love Interest retire together

Depends on how they do it. If the DLC is just an explanation, I won't even bother with it and my feelings will still be the same as they are now.

If it's a playable expansion on to the end, and it gives you new, better, more varied endings, including one of them "happier", then I'll probably go back to loving BW.

It depends on how they do it. Regardless of how it plays out though, if it feels like they really *tried* to make things right I'll respect them for having tried, even if they fail.

If they make it brilliant and free I'll be floored, to be honest. If it's brilliant and not free I'll still be thrilled, though a little sad that it's come to this.

My trust in BW will be restored fully if the ending is decent and they either don't charge for it, or make it part of a really solid and valuable DLC (more robust that "From Ashes", which I'd say was just *barely* worth the price). I understand the realities of this business, and the costs of creating content, so if they need to package it to make it financially feasible, I'll understand.

If the whole thing feels as thrown together as the current ending I won't be making anymore pre-orders, this whole experience has been too emotionally costly for me.

They won't change or rewrite the endings, they'll just provide clarification on them. A lot of you are going to be disappointed.

If they actually fix the ending, I'll feel better and actually buy whatever they release for ME3. I won't be a fan anymore though.

I'd lose some respect for them, and worry that the whole episode would colour the company's disposition going forward, resulting in less chances being taken and more cliched outcomes to future games.

They shouldn't dumb their game down for the masses.

This. Mordin's death (and Legion's, and Thane's, for that matter) are everything that the current ending is not. Tied into to themes of the franchise, emotionally moving, deeply satisfying, meaningful. EDIT And logical.

If we get an ending (preferrably several endings that reflect our choices across all 3 games, I believe we were promised something along those lines.....) that does this, I will sing praise for BioWare to anyone who'll hear it. And to some who don't xD

It's hard to say. It will depend largely on how big the changes are. A half-hearted effort will just be insulting. If they go "all in", I'll be impressed.

Regardless, I have lost some faith in their writing and judgement. A good fix here, and another great game (maybe DA3) would go a long way toward letting me chalk this up to a lapse, rather than a trend.
