If Bioware corrects the ending, how would you feel about the whole thing?

The best case scenario for BioWare would be to admit they did wrong by the players in addition to releasing a new/fixed/alternate ending that fills in the plotholes. Without any comment, I can't help but think they either manipulated us for press or wanted to make us pay for a "real" ending.

If they man up to their mistake, my respect for and faith in the company would begin to return. In time, I'd get over it. I'd look back and see a company who cares enough about its fans to make sure they loved every second of playtime as much as they enjoyed developing it. I might even buy DA3.

Bioware tried something new. Did they succeed? To be honest, based on the feedback, players didn't like how they baught the game, but got a incomplete ending. I know I felt that way. You know, now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind at all if Bioware decided to make one more delay, just to make sure the 'finished' ending was put in place. I would have rather waited a month for a 'finished' ending than to get the game, and then wait a month for them to release a better ending.

In my opinion Bioware, I realized you tried something new. I get that. New things is what keeps the game industry rolling. But you failed in trying to please the players. Please, DO NOT do this again. For your sake, I hope you consider this.

I would still be pissed off, but I would leave them alone.

...Until they **** up again with ME4.

To be honest I'd rather they just claim responsibility for the current ending. Something along the lines of "We realize we let our fans down and did not live up to their expectations, we would like to apologize for that". In the end, it's their game, their creation, we just choose to pay to play it. Changing the ending via DLC would be a kind of a cheap move, regardless whether the fans want it or not.

If it can be corrected seamlessly and improved, then I'd download it.  If they charge me, then it'd better be packed with a host of other non ending goodies like new weapons, armor, mission, map, and maybe a bonus batarian squadmate.  That way, I'd be ok with paying since I'll kinda trick my brain into thinking that I'm really only paying for stuff I'd buy anyway.

I'd buy DAII, but not play it because I'd be too busy playing through Mass Effect games again and again and again.

I think they already did.

If history has proven anything to us you're never going to make everyone happy.

As long as they can fill in the blanks I would feel better about the endings.

Alot better.
They could've just ignored us and waited until we eventually gave up, the fact they have confirmed they're going to do something about the ending makes me respect them more.
It'll take time until it comes out though but I'm putting my faith in them, they sure have the talent available to end this on a high note.

^ Agreed. I know Bioware can do better, and I bet they will. If they fix the endings (maybe add a happy one? please :D), I think I'd hold a bit more respect for them. Especially if they admit they kind of messed up.

If they give us what we expected in the first place, I can finally be at peace and I would gobble up every single bit of DLC they release.

Assuming they provide at least one less bleak ending via DLC, I'll be ecstatic. I've been dying to play ME3 again, but knowledge of the current ending severely drains my overall motivation to start a second playthrough.

Yeah, Dr. Ray came out and DIRECTED THIS PERSONALLY. oO_Oo

If a founder comes and says they'll make it right then I can't help but think it WILL happen. He doesn't want egg on his face for making promises that aren't kept. Bosses don't stick their necks out to get chopped

Better, now I know if they mess up and enough of us tell them, they'll fix it. I am going to Pre-Order Dragon Age 3 if they fix the ending to ME3, if that's any scale of confidence.

Please note my whole statement is based on if they do correct it.

That depends entirely on the quality of the said ending (not to be confused with sad ending).

I will be disappointed that it wasn't released with the game, but pleased that they were able to fix it. I will still be wary of them due to the current endings though.

Probably file another positive mental note about bioware, enjoy the ending, and be just as devoted if not more so to bioware than i was before.

Exactly.  I'm not the only one.  They REALLY hosed it, but still, more companies that really hose things don't spend their money to fix them unless forced to.

I think any additional material has to be additive, not subtractive. In order to please everyone, and maintain story cohesiveness, they will have to append it to the end of the existing game. This means having Shepard "wake up" and deal with the aftereffects of his/her choice and explore exactly what was happening.

We were promised a diversity of endings, we didn't get that. We were promised our choices would matter, we didn't feel that. We were promised many things and none of them delivered in a satisfactory way.

We want those promises fulfilled. We deserve the ending we fought for to *mean* something, something on an emotional and intellectual level. Not "Lots of speculation." This series began as a concrete story, not an artsy statement on futility. Give me the ending I fought for, please.

Mass effect 3 was nothing but dumbed down.
I sorta liked it, but Mass effect 1 had the right idea.

Changing a dumb plot back to the original plot which made the game mysterious for mass effect 1 and 2 isn't dumbing down.

Hopefully they'll add some more endings, so then we get our "wildly diverse endings" as promised, as opposed to the same scene with pretty colours.

I sure hope he does not.

Side note: has Deception been fixed or were they lying about that?

I'm hoping they either rewrite the entire ending or they just expand on the ending finding a way for something else to substitute the relay network and for Shepard to reunite with his squad and love interest.

If they play this Ending DLC well, and fix plot-hole issues etc. I will be very happy and will move back into the 'avid supporter of BioWare' camp.

Would I personally like to see more involvement from the Rachni? Maybe from other races too? You bet. But things like that are acceptable. The current plotholes and strange thematic jumps of the current ending are what pushed me over the edge.
