So I've had to go back to my old laptop for a few more weeks while I try to diagnose and fix my good PC.
I was curious as to whether this laptop could run ME2, so I had the systemrequirementslab.com website check it out, and it returned with the message that I was above minimum but below recommended because my CPU and  video card are apparently insufficient.

However, the failing messages it gives me are:

First off, please don't waste forum time and space with any of the foolishness from that bad joke of a site, SR Labs.  They are wrong so often, it's just plain silly for a gamer to ever go there.

The only GT 130 M has been another of the many renamings that nVIDIA has been doing the last five years.  It is related to the Geforce 8600 GT, just somewhat slower.

The minimum Geforce is still the Geforce 6800 GS.  Now, only GPU Review has a side by side specifications display, and they ignore most laptop hardware there.

If what I've told you doesn't help, the 6800 GS was a 2005 year generation, and the 8600 GT was 2007.  The 6800 was actually rather primitive by today's terms, whereas the 8600 GT was much closer to modern design standards.  As such, it is more efficient and powerful than the 6800 card, although perhaps not quite as fast in a brute speed fashion.  It is above the minimum, in other words.

I edited my reply a little while ago, and realized that while I was murderously negative about SR Labs, I didn't offer an alternative.  Basically, sites of that nature aren't as useful as they could be for too many reasons to get into details here.  However the YouGamer commercial site includes the "Game-o-Meter", which is comparatively accurate, especially if its results are compared to the ignorance emanating from SR Labs.

KK, thanks for the advice.
The Game-o-meter also says my video card is below recommended, although it doesn't say why either . . .

Recommended level cards should be able to run at 55-60 FPS at Medium-High Resolutions and High-Medium Image Quality settings. A minimum only needs to make 35-40 FPS, and either Low Image Quality or Low Resolutions. The recommended nVIDIA card is a Geforce 8800 GT, which is a lot faster and much more powerful than the 8600 GT.
