I don't know why people are saying they can't get above 4000, I got more than 6000 and the multi only raised the galatic readiness level. Do i get that much more for bringing in both ME1 and ME2

You must be looking at your TMS. There aren't 12,000 assets available in the game. So having 6,000 is impossible.

Maybe OP Should consider change the title to 8000+ TMS. Some people just can't read.

Two complete playthroughs, one from a ME1 to ME2 to ME3 save, the other was a new game plus and both time around 7200 Total mil strength, so as far as I know, 4000 can't be achieved without multi

Right now, general consensus is that it could be possible to get 4000, but only if you do a para-gade, with exactly the right choices in ME1/ME2/ME3. And even then, you might fall short. No one's done it yet..

In any case, I think the only
thing to do is to go through the in-game assets line-by-line for a 100%
playthrough and compare, which I'm not willing to do. It's not worth it.

There have also been people that have gotten the breath with less than 4000 EMS. Can anyone cite where this threshold is stated. I have a feeling it's tied to the Master and Commander achievement, which might not be tied to the EMS or might be buggy.

I'm also curious to know if you have From Ashes installed and if you're on PC/Xbox/PS3.

Do you have proof that they achieved Deep Breath with less than 4k? I mean, if I gained an EMS point for every person who has claimed they had 4,000 EMS or over from SP alone, or that they got the DB ending with less, I would have enough to not only save Commander Shepard, but all of the ME galaxy, including being able to bring back the Virmire sacrifice.

People make a lot of claims and yet no one—I mean no one, has been able to provide tangible proof. I could say that I am Kate Winslet. Doesn't make it so.

I can't see why someone would say they got the breath with less than 4000 if they didn't. I also don't know why anyone would claim to get an EMS higher than they did. To brag? That seems silly, since the EMS is affected by your choices. But you're right. No proof. We really need a wiki page on this.

It's also really stupid that Bioware designed it like this. They should have just made the threshold a little lower for the breath scene. This reminds of trying to get the Liara achievement in ME1. This is not a thoughtful setup, just a gimmic to get more people on Xbox live or iPads.

Well, I gave into the aweful multiplayer.

TMS: 6910
GRR: 66%
EMS: 4560

Just 9% more to get to 5000+ EMS.

Do you come here much? Image IPB People say it because they're confused about EMS vs. TMS, they say it to troll, they say it just for the hell of it. Who knows. I do know that every single screenshot provided has been proven false.

EMS is based on choice and in the other thread, people posted lots of choices they made to claim that those choices were the reason they obtained 4,000 or more, yet a lot of people who made the same choices were not able to obtain it. There is just no way to get it without MP or ios. There just isn't. Whether it was an oversight, a bug or just an untruth—we don't know since they refuse to comment on it.

They also stated all achievements can be gained by SP or MP, that isn't true either since the Defender has to be obtained through MP. They also stated that MP would not wall you off from anything in single-player. That you wouldn't miss out on anything. That isn't true considering Deep Breath.

@Odanurr I do adore you. You've put in a lot of work proving it's impossible to obtain this. However, I don't think posting that layout will help. It's been pointed out through text a million times and still people get it confused. People will look at this and still say “But I got 589,222 EMS through SP alone! You guys must suck at this!”

Well, this one links to pages showing all the known assets (some award conditions are still missing, though). I encourage anyone with more data to add it.

And again, there are some known bugs with some people getting greater awards than other players do for the same action.

Ah, but the pic has colours you see, bright colours everywhere! Much more visually gratifying!

And if that's not enough, I leave you this list.

I was at 4200 without doing Multiplayer. So I did Multiplayer and haven't stopped since and I'm now at 5400. It's possible but..I did basically every correct decision possible and was a full Paragon, maxed out on Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2, no bad decisions. Everyone survived, and I gained most of the war assets from side missions.

Do you honestly think that none of us factored this into our calculations?<_<

I think a lot of the bugs that give people more are coming from then downloading a cbin, or something like that. Almost every person I have seen with this issue all had that in common. One person said they knew a friend who downloaded it for the purpose of keeping the reapers away on the galaxy map or some such, and had no idea that it gave her more EMS points. For XBL users, I think it comes from mostly gibbing.

vGriMz, can you post a save? It would be helpful to see where your War Asset points are coming from.

@ KBomb: makes sense. A lot of us seem to be cheating -- if that's the word -- without knowing it.

Every pic I've seen posted doubles the value of war assets, undoubtedly from a modified Coalesced.bin.

EDIT: There's even a Coalesced that gives you 100% GR.

This is one of the issues (albeit down on my list of issues) I'd like to see BioWare address.  Currently it's not an issue, but what about in a couple of years if EA decides to pull the plug on the MP servers?  It will become impossible to ever get the "optimal" ending (jokes aside about the ending) since so much of it relies on MP play.

It's not? Sure it is. I have no intention of playing MP. I never did. And I had no reason to believe that would matter, because I was led to believe it would not.

I don't own an iPhone, nor do I participate in Facebroke. I wouldn't do either at gunpoint, and I had no reason to believe that would matter, because it never came up at all.

If I had known that my experience could be altered by any of those three factors prior to purchasing ME3, I would not have bought the game. Had I known the series would come down to something like this, I would not have bought the first two games either.

Around here, that is what is referred to as "an issue". Actually, "a current issue".

I hit 7000 and I only had 58% galactic readiness. You just have to search every Galactic Cluster until they're all 100% and you should be more than fine. It's not difficult, the reaper attacks are just a temporary setback. Just Reload and do it again.

I find it extremely annoying that I will have to play MP just to get the best ending. MP is fun for a hour or so but it's not very original or fresh. I also hate it because Bioware stated that MP would not affect SP <_<

Even if I decided to play it, nothing is going to happen except that I will end up annoying everyone playing with me because I am so absurdly bad at multiplayer games. I know better than to get on that thing with a bunch of idiot savants that do only one thing well and that's play Commander Shepard so they can reach the limit of their patience with me and then the whole thing becomes a nightmare for all involved.

I couldn't even get up the first set of stairs on the MP demo, despite playing on Veteran or Hardcore or whatever on every game so far and doing quite well. I felt like I was stuck in tar, and I was totally confused. Nobody else is going to have time for that.

That's not the point. BioWare LIED because they said you could get every ending without even touching the multiplayer. Some people don't have their consoles connected to the internet, a lot of people aren't interested at all in multiplayer, and on Xbox 360, you need to get Xbox Live just to be able to play online. There are tons of reason people don't want to play multiplayer. And tell me, if the servers are taken down (which will happen eventually), NO one will be able to get the 'best' ending anymore.

And BEST part of the game? Holy crap, you can't say that with a straight face, can you? Seriously?

For the best ending you only need like 3000ish
