With an ME1 and ME2 import I managed 5100 EMS on my first playthrough with a Galatic Readiness of 50% So yeah, really was easy to get more than 4000! I managed to get that up to 6980 after a bit of MP!

I'm getting a bit bewildered by people who say they can't get more than 4000 EMS, are you starting a brand new game in ME3 or are you importing? If your importing I can only assume you aren't doing any side quests or exploring or had a massivly failed SM!

You can't reach normally over 4000EMS without playing MP, cause total number of War Assets ingame is around 7500-7600 points. So either you are lying, or you played with the editor, you played MP before or you had a bug.

Yeah, I'm not lying! I really don't see why I would and I resent the implication quite frankly!

That's what I got, I'm fairly certain I did most of the sidequests and I have played a fair bit of MP now but I hadn't at the time! If that was some kind of bug then my apologies but that is what i got!

Either you're lying, or there's a bug in the game that some get a lot more EMS than others (and I hope you read it correctly, EFFECTIVE military strength, not TOTAL military strength). I don't know you and I really don't want to call anyone a liar, it's an insult. One of the worst one can get. But something is very strange that some are very sure they get 4-5k+ EMS without MP and some get 3,8-3,9k EMS... :S


Anyhow, thanks to Gibbed's savegame editor, I now have 26k EMS

Thank you for a far more reasonable repsonse to my post, I appreciate that because I really don't like being called a liar!

I'm pretty certain that it was my EMS yes, not my TMS. But I think I'm going to check that save now as I'm feeling a little paranoid!

Hacked most likely. Probably downloaded a Coalesced that doubles the values of war assets.

I pulled my ME 1 Shep all the way through to ME3. I scoured the galaxy and got over 7000 War Assets (i.e., less than 4000 EMS). I do not see how this is possible, but I will use a guide on my next playthru though. However, I don't see where I missed any war assets.

Your assets are ridiculously wrong. Every one is higher than it should be—most impossibly so. You either downloaded a modified cbin or you used gibbed to get it that high.

 I cannot get the 4000 EMS without multiplayer. I have done all side missions including the DLC, I scanned all planets, my ME 2 import was good and I am far from that figure.

I would like to see a list of thing to do to reach it.

No you didn't. You're either getting your Total Military Strength confused with your Effective Military Strength or you downloaded a modded Cbin or you used Gibbed. Jesus, people. Please read the entire thread before posting. That way no one will have to point out how terribly wrong you are.


If you still claim to have “more than 5,000” (FYI: there aren't over 10,000 assets to be had in the game) then please provide a screenshot to prove it.

Well 2 completely separate playthroughs from ME 1 and 2. Two different characters, 3 games of completionist, and neither one breached 4k in war assets.

I guess I'm just playing the game wrong, huh?

So we have to play a specific way, if we played the way WE wanted to play over 3 games it is not possible, yes ? I should say I only got 3700 ems after using my ME1 and 2 save.

I have calculated every decision you need to make in all three games to maximize war assets and you're still short of 8,000 by some 400+ points.

Here's a brief breakdown of my numbers:

TOTAL ALIEN ASSETS 993 (Assuming you can get all the + CDF and none of the -)
TOTAL ALLIANCE ASSETS 1796 (-100 if Council Saved)
TOTAL ASARI ASSETS 668 (-70 if council killed)
TOTAL CRUCIBLE ASSETS 815
TOTAL EX-CERBERUS ASSETS 260
TOTAL GETH ASSETS 820 (-300 if Heretics destroyed)
TOTAL KROGAN ASSETS 900 (if Wrex Survives, Rachni Queen killed, Genophage cured)
TOTAL QUARIAN ASSETS 830 (-305 if Heretics SAVED)
TOTAL SALARIAN ASSETS 363 (-63 if council saved, -175 if Genophage cured)
TOTAL TURIAN ASSETS 638
TOTAL AVAILABLE ASSETS 8083

However, a lot of these scores are mutually exclusive. The Quarians or the Geth instantly lose 300 points. If the council is saved, you get to keep the ~130 points from the Salarians and Asari, but lose 100 from the Alliance. etc. i haven't bothered to do the individual math for the "optimal playthrough", but it looks to be around 7500 TMS

 Ok, so I can admit when I'm wrong!

I've just checked my save and It would seem I did indeed get my TMS mixed up with my EMS 

I would have actually had around 5600 on my TMS. I seem to have picked up a few assetts before the finale and missed counting them, apologies all!

7,524 if you can live with that.
