There are around 7,500 total assets attainable in the game.
It is not possible to achieve 4,000 or more EMS with the default 50% readiness.
You can cheat your saved game to increase assets; otherwise, you need to play multiplayer or use the iOS apps to increase your readiness.
Care to explain how I got 4000pts despite not touching MP until after my campaign was totally completed?
Seriously. People need to stop speaking in absolutes here. It can happen. It's needlessly hard and requires you to make certain moral decisions if you want it sans-multiplayer (bad idea), but it can happen. Get over it.

i have seen the scene without MP and got over 4k it all depends on you various decisions and imports. E.g me2 import with saving collector base gives you 110 for brain, but if you destroyed it you only get 100 for heart. its all about you decisions through imports and decisions in me3 with supporting various chars etc. like news interviews etc etc. it is possible. Check youtube there are loads of vids proving it.
I dare you to even post one. You won't find any

Either people can't understand Engrish but apparently the easiest way to solving the situation by providing proof is a scenario that escapes people like you.
It's actually hilarious of the lack of common sense in these boards.

In this interview, Jarrett Lee says:
"Your ending(s) are determined by your “Effective Military Strength” (let’s call it EMS for now) bar. Focus on that bar – that is your indicator of how well you will do in the end-game,” said senior marketing manager Jarrett Lee.
“You can maximize your EMS just by collecting War Assets in the single-player game. There is a certain threshhold of these you would need to exceed (I can’t get too specific) but I can tell you there are MORE than the required amount that can be gathered in the single-player campaign.”
Source.
In this interview with Aaryn Flynn, he emphasises on many occasions how MP is optional and an alternative.
TGL: Why is it important that it’s complimentary to the Mass Effect experience, without ever stepping on the toes of the core single-player experience?
AF: It’s important. The idea is that as you are going through the multiplayer and you choose to play it, you can take advantage of the benefits in there, but that’s completely optional to the single player experience. It’s another way of achieving things that you can do in the single player campaign.
TGL: Is there an element of caution when approaching Mass Effect multiplayer especially given how the franchise is built on an established single-player experience? It might be intimidating for some players….
AF: We’ve heard a lot of feedback from people since we’ve announced multiplayer on what they expect and one thing I’m really happy with is that since we’ve made the announcement people have been universally excited with what we’re doing. We’ve committed to not sacrificing the single-player in any way. Multiplayer is optional and it’s just another way of experiencing the gameplay in a different setting and a different environment in a new way with your friends. Yes there is a pressure on us and I think were beating this.
Source.
Now for some contradiction: From the same interview...
TGL: In what way does multiplayer compliment single player? Are there any incentives to player both modes and is there any kind of crossover?
AF: With the galaxy at war system underpinning both these modes, the idea is that things that happen in one campaign can affect the other and this is consistent either way. Single-player certainly affects and opens up options in multiplayer. We haven’t fully pinned it down yet and we still have to finalise what we’re going to ship with but we do want to see that flow that allows you to do things in the single-player that will affect the multiplayer.
And here is Casey Hudson talking about how MP are separate, yet says this:
“The better you do, the more you control, the better your single player ending will be. Ultimately, it's about adding more player choice. If you want to do a really complete single player play-through, then you can absolutely get to the highest level of success in the ending, but now you also have an alternative. You can take more of that experience into MP.”
Source around 2:06
Face it, they messed the system up somehow. Whether intentionally, or mistakenly. Either way, it's impossible. People need to stop saying it is possible. Even the gaming media knows it isn't possible. Source. Stop defending the actions and accept them, or move on to another cause in which you can defend Bioware, because it isn't here.

Then take a photo. That simple. It isn't possible to reach it. That isn't just me, that is everyone. So, let's see it.
@ Tietj I believe that is only for PC players. I don't think that has happened for anyone on Xbox, though I could be wrong. Mainly the photos I have seen from Xbox users have clearly used Gibbed, as some weren't doubled, but raised a little higher than normal to just barely move them over the 4k or 5k mark.

@KBomb I didn't know that, I did wonder though. Thanks for clearing that up. In that case, this is probably a lie. I hope it isn't, although like I said, sucks for PS3 takers if you need some sort of trilogy-spanning metagaming to make it happen.
No problem.
I honestly don't see how the PS3 users could make it up since they would have to do without Conrad Verner—which I think gives you more assets if you found all of a certain file in ME1. I want to say the Asari ones, but I could be wrong about that. The Genesis chooser for PS3 skipped over Feros completely, so I don't know if they get the Exogeni assets or the colonists ones either. Those all combined probably won't add up to a lot, but enough to make it difficult on a scale that is already impossible or difficult to obtain. Not to mention they can't use any Gibbed.
Tbh, I feel worse for them. At least I can use Gibbed if I choose to play again. They have no other option but to rely on an outside source such as MP.
