Not sure why people are causing such a fuss about it, I've got the 360 and the PC version and I happen to play the Mass Effect datapad "Galaxy at War" thing now and then. On that I managed to get the readiness rading up to 70% (just by making sure the average is higher than 65%, took me 3 evenings of playing around with it while watching TV) and I managed to get the 4000+ EMS ending easily.

Granted, it should be done without the app and ideally without any MP, but hey, I'm loving both the MP (though I am pretty crap at it) and the app idea. After all, the app is free :)

Aaah, it is so good that everybody in the world have an iPhone! And not only 20%, compared to 50% Androids. Great!

Last time I checked there is no "Apple Device Owner" requirement on the box.

Even releasing an app for Android would still be no fix. No one should be required to own a smartphone just to see all the single player content of a game.

It can't be done, it's just another one of BioWare's lies really. I never got above 7,4k TMS even with a mostly paragon run through ME1, 2 and 3. That's still 600 TMS away from what I'd need to get the 'perfect' ending.

I really don't care one way or the other, since all the endings suck equally hard there's no real reason to try and get 4k+ EMS. The best anyone can do is quit the game after talking to Anderson in the resistance camp, then use their imagination to think of a proper end.

How to fix it? Simple... put the base GR at 60% instead of 50% and everyone can get over 4k EMS by doing a full ME1 -- ME3 run without doing multiplayer. BioWare seems to dislike logic a great deal though so I doubt it'll sink in any time soon.

How many people have provided their save games to Thomas Abram? I didn't but have a pc version. Is this worth doing in order to highlight the problem?

yeah it'd still be stupid maybe a browser game but still same problem of people may not be able to get on it

should have just made the horde mode wannabe playable offline (easier of course) or not have it effect the single player gamer

From their responses until recently, I honestly think they made an honest mistake. Which is... baffling, but I guess if they correct it it's ok.

Even though I play an imported character, I really think that this should be attainable even with a non-import. No need to punish newcomers, especially if the extended cut expands on the 4000+ ending.

I can't speak for the infiltrator game but the data pad galaxy at war app is beyond boring.

"..especially if the extended cut expands on the 4000+ ending."

This is the reason why I'm suddenly so concerned about this issue. Although I'm hoping that the Extended Cut increases the values of the assets (why are krogan footsoldiers more valuable than most fleets in a war that is being fought mostly in space?).

What really burns me about this whole thing is that EA will likely just use this by having BioWare make a DLC that gives you an extra mission that will give you more then half of the EMS points you need, making the 4000+ easily attainable as long as you get all the other resources in the game. So, basically, they'll turn their mistake into just another reason to make the players buy DLC.

I really wish people would stop posting misinformation in this thread, that same misinformation had bioware thinking there was no issue and that everyone else was just a 'vocal minority"

You cannot gain enough assets to get the deep breath ending without multiplayer, it has been data mined, there are not enough assets in game. That means you are required to use the third party apps, one which you have to pay for, or use multiplayer which you also have to pay for (xbox live subscription)

While some may argue that the deep breath is not the best ending, that is irrelevant, bioware stated that you are not required to play multiplayer to gain access to all single player content, this is obviously false since they finally took down the sticky with incorrect information in it, took them a month to do it but they finally did.

So enough with the misinformation. If you claim to have reached 4,000 to 5,000 effective military strength with your galatic readiness at only 50% (default for non multiplayer) that means you either altered your war assets or some of them are bugged and giving more than they are worth or you used the infiltrator app, either way it's not possible in a strictly single player game.

Absolutely.

@those people:
Stop mixing up War Assets and EMS and try to understand the readiness modifier. The target number is 8000 points of War Assets, NOT counting any imported MP characters. Those 8000 will be reduced to 4000 with the standard readiness multiplier of 50%.

You can get approximately 7550 points of War Assets with an imported game where you did all quests in all three games, collected enough minerals in ME2 and made the optimal combination of choices in all three games. More is not possible, and that's still 450 points short of the target number.

Perhaps. I couldn't send him my initial PC game b/c my system crashed and wiped my HD. I haven't gotten around to pulling the save files off my PS3 yet. It can't hurt. He had offered to go through my save file.

War Assets or EMS? Those are two different things. 5000 in War assets isn't too difficult at all to achieve, but without multiplayer, that would equal 2500 EMS, way below the necessary 4000.

If you claim to have gotten 5000 EMS with your readiness at 50%, then screenshot please. I do not believe that to be even close to possible.

No, it isn't anywhere close to possible. This person said “over 5,000”. There aren't over 10,000 assets in the game. So, either another liar—or someone who still hasn't figured out that EMS isn't the same as TMS.

Personally I think galactic readiness should go up with in game activities and not depend on owning an iDevice or doing MP. Some people do not wish to do either and bought ME3 as a single player game for the story. they should not have the outcome altered for not wanting to do something that is not part of playing the single player product.

That said there is a solution and that is with the right editor you just double the "Starting Strength" values in the war assets area of the right bin file and you negate the penalty. Naturally remember to backup your default install coalesced.bin because on the off chance you desire to use MP it is best not to login to that portion with a modified file.

I suppose they'll just add the missing final cutescene also for an ending where you had <4000 EMS,  so that you won't need  that EMS score anymore .

This is also why I'm concerned about it - after spending well over 100 hours playing, and enjoying it immensely, to find that the official guide and (now removed) official thread seems to be inaccurate - that Shepard can live if you make a certain decision and have over 4,000 EMS - is gauling, to say the least.

Setting aside the unprededented situation with the ending direction(s) (never before in my many years of gaming have I seen what is unfolding), the issue for me is:

I want Shepard to live,

Shepard CAN live - it has been catered for in-game, is already a "possible" outcome (doesn't require any re-writing),

I cannot reach it, by a hairs-breadth - after working so hard through all three games - saving everyone I could possibly save, surviving the suicide mission with my crew intact, making hard moral decisions, it comes down to game mechanics.

Then to find the endings will be clarified, more details provided to give flesh to the bones of the finale, to possibly rub salt into the wound knowing more of what I cannot reach, if this issue is not tackled, excellent, I'll feel even more deflated than first time around.

I don't want to pre-empt what the content will be, but unless this issue is identified and accepted to be an issue with SP, then nothing will be done to rectify it.

Anyone have any advice on what more I can do - where to send official enquiries?  I've never been in this situation before.

Many thanks.
