Interesting. Thanks for the post.

I hope that they will actually fix this issue and that they will consider PS3 players, too, who can never get some of the war assets because of the lack of ME1 on PS3.

No worries just looking for an answer like evryone else here

Yeah poor PS3 version  does 3 play any better than 2? I played the PS3 version of 2 the other day (normal play on Xbox) and it was horrible lots of slow down ugly textures etc

Well I've seen some frame rate issues, characters floating  in the air, stuff like that. So I don't really think so...

Ummm I got 5,100 in my play through without doing multiplayer I just collected every single artifact and war asset from every planet in every system and did every quest. So I don't get it when people say that its impossible maybe you can only do it on the pc? Because thats the version I have I did this within 2 weeks the game was released and I don't believe they updated in that time

ummm you are lying because a developer confirmed, ummmm that there are ummmm, NOT 4000 in the game let alone 5000 (which would be 10000 TMS), so ummmm go troll somwhere else please

Rules of the internet - 14. Do not argue with a troll — it means that they win.

However, You are correct.
The absolute minimum EMS required for "THAT" ending is 4000 which means your War Assets needs to be double that with just playing the ME3 single player campaign.

8000 War Assets * 50% Galatic Readiness = 4000 Effective Military Strength
Again, this is the bare minimum number, otherwise you need to somehow aquire 2k more for 10,000 war assets.

People in the community have already done code diving and found that it is mathematically impossible to achieve 4000 EMS just by playing SP. Even if you have a save game from ME1, with all the best possible choices to increase your EMS in ME3, it is still not possible.
Even if you choose to count the iOS game: Mass Effect: Infiltrator and "From the Ashes" DLC, they do not add enough war assets.

As many in the community have already said, the ONLY way you can reach 4000+ EMS is by playing multiplayer to temporarily raise your galatic readiness or promote enough squads from multiplayer to permanently raise your war assets.

This is how things are unless something changes.

You want to know what makes this even worse? Rumors are that Bioware and EA originally planned to charge for the Extended Cut DLC. When I put it to Chris Priestly, I got this response:

I don't know about anyone else, but in my experiance, whenever someone ways "We won't deny or confirm" it usually means you've caught them out with the truth.

That's a shame I remember when ME2 was coming out on PS3 they said it would be the best version running on the ME3 engine.... oh Bioware this stretching the truth business isn't new is it?

It's sad we have to resort to screen capping conversations with Bioware devs or workers, like Richard Nixon or something......

I heard back from Mr. Abram regarding my last PM.
It was nice of him to reply on a Sunday.

Jarrett's post wasn't removed by anyone - We had a what I believe to be a server hiccup that accidentally removed a handful of posts.

Hoping to get to it this week.

I just want to make sure this particular post isn't lost in the shuffle. Thomas Abram outright said that there isn't a problem when we have proven over and over that there is. I wouldn't be too hopeful about them "looking into" this issue.

As I've said before, its incredibly easy for them to fix this. Make each N7 single player mission permanently increase Galactic Readiness for that playthrough by 4%, up to a possible total of 70%. At 70% GR, 5000 EMS (what's needed to get the survive ending without saving Anderson) is 7142 TMS, which is doable by a completionist playthrough.

That would work or couldn't they just reduce the required EMS to get this scene down to 3500?

Getting to 7000 TMS is possible -  not easy and it shouldn't be but not impossible like getting to 4000 currently is!

@CG Drum: 7000 is possible but extremely difficult in the PS3, and completely impossible for newcomers to the series.

I guess until they confirm it internally they will not show up here.

BTW, have you got any reply from Thomas Abram, after you sent him the link to this thread?

I really don't know. The highest I've been able to get with a non-import is about 5200 TMS, but that seems low. It would help if they released something like the comic from ME2.

It is never good when companies STRONGLY encourage you to play MP games to influence SP games. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I know for a fact that the MP is another place where EA can sell you stuff to buy to help facilitate your experience. Lousy way to lure people into DLC

Totally agree - would have been a different matter if they had been open to begin with and clearly stated  when the game was released (and on the packaging) that MP or ouside apps are required to access all elements of the game.

We would have no leg to stand on then - would be really fed up but no real complaint if we had known from the off.

But it has always been stated that MP wouldn't affect the game and that all endings were available to SP only players.  So it would be nice if this could just be acknowledged as a small mishap and dealt with... this would equal a lot of happier players.

This thread is hilarious.

The actual data files from the game show that it is impossible to get 8000 Total Military Strength (TMS) in single-player alone. So unless you cheated by downloading altered files/using a file editor, there is no possible way to have 8000 TMS using only single-player assets. And without multiplayer or the iOS games, there is no way to have more than 50% Readiness, meaning it is impossible to have 4000 Effect Military Strength (EMS).

Some people are confusing Total Military Strength with Effective Military Strength. These people just need to read a little bit more carefully.

Then there are people who claim they have more than 4000 EMS accounting for the 50% Readiness rating, and they are either 1) lying or 2) using modified files.

The game data flat-out says there is no way to get 8000 Total Military Strength. You are objectively wrong you claim to have gotten more.

We'll I finally did it. Whereas before I only dabbled in MP by jumping in a private match by myself and moving my Galactic Readiness by one point now and then, last night I jumped into a public group to see what real coop was like and.... it was fun and rewarding!

In a short two hours of play I added 10 levels to my character and I moved my Galactic readiness by 25 points (more than enough for what I needed).

In fact, due to the current ending situation, I will likely be spending more time in MP over SP over the next month; I can't help but wonder if this is what Bioware intended all along.

Maybe not really intended, but clearly they are counting on it now.

I played some MP to get the best ending, it was fun for first 2 hrs, but then I just got bored. The missions are repetitive, you have to grind and grind for best items, and then you forget to turn off voice chat and suddenly hear some angry teenager calling you names. Yuck.

Did you just rush in here to say this without even checking to see the discussion? Maybe you should actually read the thread. No, you can't, it's impossible.

Another day of silence and inaction.

Hey bioware, a simple stickied thread saying "Hey, we recognize that it's not possible any we apologize for spreading disinformation. We are currently working on ways to address this issue. Please stay tuned" would go a long way with your fan base.
