Again, READ. We're not talking about the Total Military Strength. We're talking about the Effective Military Strength. They are different things.

I believe that I could accomplish greater enhancement of the dialogue of this discussion solely through posting ponies than individuals such as mosdefinition are accomplishing through their failure to adequately understand the current subject of discussion.

Totally agree - would have been a different matter if they had been open to begin with and clearly stated  when the game was released (and on the packaging) that MP or ouside apps are required to access all elements of the game. 

We would have no leg to stand on then - would be really fed up but no real complaint if we had known from the off. 

But it has always been stated that MP wouldn't affect the game and that all endings were available to SP only players.  So it would be nice if this could just be acknowledged as a small mishap and dealt with... this would equal a lot of happier players.

Agree totally.  

What diminishes the MP experience for me is that I know I'm really doing this not because I want to grind it out and play countless rounds of horde on Mass Effect, but rather because I'm desperately trying to enhance my SP exerience and get the best possible ending after all that I already put in the previous ME1/ME2 games.  That's just not the right way to encourage people to take on a new experience.  It's not that the MP isn't fun per se, but it's not "I want to play tons of rounds and promote my level 20 person to squeeze out some war asset points and get a higher galactic % rating" fun.  EA knows that some folks who don't have time or patience (but have money) will just bite the bullet and buy the spectre pack.  Even if it's a few hundred folks who do this, it is just more money in their pockets and that is just ridiculous.

Not free on Xbox, although that's not EAs problem.

This annoys me greatly. Not that the MP isn't fun -- it's kinda like sci-fi Horde mode -- but getting in and staying in a match takes some doing. Now I'll probably do it to get up to about 60-65% -- enough to boost my 3530 up to 4000 and save Shepard -- but after that? Fugeddabout it.

And it's so STUPID, because all they had to do was make the 4000(or 5000) easily obtainable in SP without all the jumping through fiery, juggling hoops while mainlining Red Bull and crystal meth. I hope any other studio thinking of having their MP affect SP takes a long hard look at the goodwill BioWare has cost themselves with this little debacle.

On another note: I wrote a poem! I ripped off the meter from "Trees", but here 'tis.

I think that I shall never see
An ending worse than Mass Effect 3

A story with such an epic view
Where Shepard stood for me or you.

This world which once gave varied choice
With this 'end' strips a player's voice.

A franchise which asked for many plays

I find MP more fun that the dumb "scan/ get killed by Reapers/reload/pick up worthless artifact" minigame, and it doesn't take a whole lot of effort to jack up your Readiness in "Bronze".

Minus multiplayer is not free for those who plays on the console where Mass Effect started, and it's a lot harder for those who still plays Mass Effect using the HUD as it is not possible in multiplayer.

I'm on PC and don't know the costs associated with Xbox Live etc...

Is there a monthly fee for Xbox Live or can you just hook up an internet line and go?

It would be truly egregious if a paid subscription is required to get to 4,000 for Xbox players.

It should probably be noted that their opinion on what they're referring to as the best ending is irrelevant when they clearly said that you were not required to play multiplayer to access all single player content.

That was conjecture, which has been debunked by multiple PMs with EA/Bioware employees.
They have specifically referred to the 'breath' ending as the highest achievable ending and that we are mistaken that there are not enough EMS in SP for it.

It should probably be noted that Bioware assured us that 4k EMS is possible in SP. Bioware comfirmed many times that they made all the endings - meaning the "Shep lives" ending too - available to SP. There was never any mention of "easter egg" available only to MP players.
