So nobody pointed out that people are pissed over the multiplayer mainly because they just pirated the game?

No that's not why people are pissed about it at all. Some people don't have Xbox live, some don't have a decent internet connection and...wait for it...some of us just hate multiplayer with the passion of a thousand sons.

Any further questions?

Looking how you don't have any games registered makes me think you are more likely to have pirated ME3, kid. This thread will be fine without your flamebaiting, thank you.

It should probably be noted that their opinion on what they're referring to as the best ending is irrelevant when they clearly said that you were not required to play multiplayer to access all single player content.

This.

Doesn't even make sense, really; I would think most people who pirated the game would be playing on pc and would have very little trouble modifying their game to give themselves more war assets. Right?

Who was defending illegal stuff or pirating?  Me?
*looks at giant list of registered Bioware games, some on multiple platforms*

Certainly not!  Just calling out a trolololo when I see one. :)

This annoys me greatly. Not that the MP isn't fun -- it's kinda like sci-fi Horde mode -- but getting in and staying in a match takes some doing. Now I'll probably do it to get up to about 60-65% -- enough to boost my 3530 up to 4000 and save Shepard -- but after that? Fugeddabout it.

And it's so STUPID, because all they had to do was make the 4000(or 5000) easily obtainable in SP without all the jumping through fiery, juggling hoops while mainlining Red Bull and crystal meth. I hope any other studio thinking of having their MP affect SP takes a long hard look at the goodwill BioWare has cost themselves with this little debacle.

On another note: I wrote a poem! I ripped off the meter from "Trees", but here 'tis.

I think that I shall never see
An ending worse than Mass Effect 3

A story with such an epic view
Where Shepard stood for me or you.

This world which once gave varied choice
With this 'end' strips a player's voice.

A franchise which asked for many plays
Now ends confused, a sad malaise.

Characters, questions, brushed aside
And silence fails to stem the tide.

"How did this pass?" cry out the throng
That it could have ended up so wrong.

*applause*

That was awesome.

For what it is worth, on a philosophical level I believe that it was a bad decision to link the single player game experience with a multiplayer one. There might be a good deal of overlap in the player base but both play styles are different. I play this game to relax and not be competitive but to enjoy getting lost in the escapism of it all in a leisurely manner.

With that said, I got over 5k in assets then went into multiplayer. I spent several hours trying to level up and do teams and yet I got two (2) people to join for a mission each during that time. I then played a couple dozen missions solo!!! It really ruins the experience; for me at least.

On a side note, I'm a big MMO player but I play this kind of game for the SP experience.

I could be wrong but if one does not have a registered license they cant post to these forums - yes? Accordingly it kind of makes the entire naysayers argument null and void.

Slightly off topic but how does one download the Gibbed editor for XBOX 360? I've heard about it but haven't paid attention because I was playing on PS3, but I recently bought an XBOX and it's actually a possibility for me now.

I wonder how those people got registered game tags next to their names then. Like me for exmaple. Guess something's probably wrong in your theory, Mr. Holmes. Nota-bene - pirates are usually not afraid to download trainers or savegame editors where they can set everything up to their liking anyway. :-P It's a low blow from EA/BW to its paying customers mainly. As always.

Gibbed's editors are PC utilities.  Modification of an XBox 360 save file with the editor requires transport of the save data to a USB device and extraction and, later, re-injection of the individual save file with use of Modio.

Actual detection of modification to single-player gameplay that does not result in easier acquisition of game Achievements is likely undetectable.

General discussion boards are open to anybody. Only the spoiler forums require a game registration. This was a problem for DA2 since there were a lot of ...... I guess I'd call them "terrorist" posts -- from anonymous users. ME fans have been much better behaved..

Still, the point is quite valid. If you're going to pirate a game, you're probably using the PC, and thus wont need multi player.

Has anyone else noticed that the Sticky about how you can still get the best ending without playing multiplayer is gone? You'd think they'd at least post some sort of update about this instead of just getting rid of the evidence. :/

Speculation *wink*

Plus with the internet, you can find all kinds of cheats ...

Not saying there is one, but one I saw dealt with WA. I literally went "WTF?" Maybe that is the reason for the GR and MP inclusion. *shrugs*

In case it's ever needed, here's the old sticky. The "server hiccup" may have unstickied it, but it's still in the database.
