Very Political, very very sketchy. Would appreciate answers thanks

Did they really? I didn't know about this, are the kids still getting the money?

Absolutely no way that can be true. It'd be PR suicide.

I doubt there is any sort of 'paper-trail' you can find.

They are getting the money still. It would of prob been twice as much by the time we got a clear answer tho.

This is not just about hate mail. I bet Child's Play gets a substantial chunk of their donations for Video Game Companies (as shown on their site).
Our petition is going against one of the largest game publishers in the US. Child's Play can't be on both sides, especially not when EA starts to pressure them.
And in all fairness, the Child's Play donation drive was probably the most galvanizing component of the Retake ME3 Movement which in itself could turn out to the most financially damaging movement a video game publisher ever faced.
I have no doubt that when we hit $100K the CP donation drive could have become an even more powerful tool in our movement's arsenal, but we are not fighing against amateurs here, and they played their aces just like we did.
The CP drive served its purpose, and we should take comfort in the fact that Bioware made a massive strategic mistake in letting this donation drive reach the level of exposure it did.

It was shut down because of Child's Play was getting lots hate mail because of the donation drive. No evidence shows that EA/BioWare directly interfered.

Nah, idiots are assuming that because we chose a gamer-centric charity to donate to means the charity itself supports our actions.
Basically, a good thing got boned because people were lazy and incompetent. Ah, the world.

More like the press inferring there to be a connection between us and the charity beyond the fact tat we wanted to do something constructive with our aggravation. Fair enough. We still raised $80,000. If you want to donate more, you can so so directly to Child's Play.
Damn,

I don't think so. It's more likely that in one of the articles that gaming sites put out that mention the charity, they got the wrong idea and thought that either we or CP were using it strictly as a way to strong-arm our way into getting new endings. The hate mail came in, and CP decided it was best to quietly stop the drive.

... They took down a charity? Is that possible?
That could be the most dastardly thing I've ever heard of.

Yeah, I mean... No charity turns down cash without a major, major incentive... email doesn't seem to cut it for me.

They'd rather not have some bad email than $100K? I don't know.. that sounds ridiclious.superduperkoala wrote...
