Endless flame rain - hilariously OP soldier build

So I posted a thread about abusing the fire explosion evolution of incendiary ammo with shotguns.  Well, the fun's just beginning.    Enter the Geth Pulse Rifle.   Normally this is a pretty trash weapon.  Mediocre dps, relatively high weight, terrible against armor, slow reload.  But it does have two saving graces.  One is the blistering ROF, 900 rpm.  Two is the large magazine size, a base of 80 rounds.   Maxed incendiary ammo has a 50% chance of triggering a 100 damage flame explosion (140 with the rank 6 weapon master combat mastery evolution) in a 2.5 meter radius.  Adrenaline rush instantly reloads your weapon.  See where I'm going with this...

The build is simple:
Maxed incendiary ammo.
Maxed combat mastery
Maxed adrenaline rush with damage, recharge, and free power evolutions
GPR with armor piercing and magazine size mods.

A GPR with an extended mag (any rank) will last through a whole adrenaline rush + cooldown cycle.  At which point you hit adrenaline rush and you're full again.  All the while you're getting 7.5 flame explosions per SECOND, in a large AOE, plus your base weapon damage on top of that.

So to sum up.  You'll never have to reload, you'll do sickening dps, you'll set EVERYTHING on fire (panicked enemies = no one returning fire), and you'll never need to carry any other weapon so your cooldowns are awesome.  The only drawback is that the flame explosions don't work on shields/barriers, so take energy drain as your bonus power to strip minor enemies and take disruptor ammo to strip banshees/atlases/geth pyros.  Once you get them down to armor they asplode.

It's so ridiculous it feels almost exploitative.

What about replacing the GPR with the Particle rifle? With Extended Mag V and Penetration mods that thing is just pure, concentrated, directed hate in agony-inducing energy form.

Particle rifle would probably be even more OP, but that's DLC. The GPR's the best you can do out of the box.

I'll post a quick vid tonight so you can see what I'm talking about.

Edit:  It's up

Not the smoothest run (some of my hotbar bindings were missing) but eh.

That's pretty sweet. I'm thinking this would be even more absurd if you took Marksman and cast it during Adrenaline Rush. WAY more absurd lol. Spec it for fire rate and you've got like, an instadeath hellfire machine in your hands.

PS what armor did you have on in that vid?

I don't think you can stack marksman and adrenaline rush. Too bad, that would be amazing.

Armor is Hahn-Kedar chest with a mix of N7 and Armax-Arsenal pieces for the rest.

That video is hysterical, clearly this build works wonders against tightly packed enemies. The significant drawback as I see it would be in the late game missions (particularly Horizon and London) when the main threat doesn't come from masses of assault troops/cannibals but from having multiple Banshees and Brutes chasing you all over the place.

Nice vid. I think you shouldnt have that much problem against Banshees and Brutes as well because rapid fire will take out barriers pretty fast and Brutes well.. they are stupid, always cluster themselves in a tight group after they charge. So should have a very fun time BBQ-ing them.

I wont say it is overpowered though. XD

Biotic classes basically just sit there and bomb them with Biotic Artillery Shells and the results are pretty much the same - well less aiming, much less aiming.

Yeah, I discovered this accidentally near the end of my initial ME3 playthrough. Fun stuff.

You could even take that a step further by going with the squad ammo evo, then pick two AR toting squadies and give them Geth Pulse Rifles. Hilarity ensues.

you've created a reason for me to play through ME3 a third time (first two were for 2 different romance saves)

So let me get this straight, GPR + Explosive Incendiary is even more OTT than with Revenant, Phaeston and Particle Rifle? Well, I think that's me sold for doing a NG+ run with my soldier. That thing was a stonesthrow away from being a flamethrower a la firestorm

Try incendiary ammo with the M-37 Falcon.

Not only are you shooting explosions, but anyone in those explosions will immediately catch fire.
So fun. :D

The falcon is the gun you get only very late in the game, kind of useless unless you replay.

My build with Soldier ws very similar to the OP's, but instead of the Geth Rifle I used the Revenant or Phaeston.

The only thing that gave me problems in the game were Banshees. Especially at the very end. That part is still insanely hard IMHO.
Oh, and wear either full Armax Arsenal or Hahne-Kedar armor. It'll make things funner.

GPR is ideal for this build since it fires super fast, has minimal recoil, and excellent accuracy in full auto. Any rapid fire weapon with a large magazine works though.

IMO, NG+ is the "real" game anyway, why would Shep still be missing gear/powers after two whole games?

@OP: This is beautiful

Haha this looks like fun. I will go for this HELLFIRE Shep if I ever play Soldier in ME3 :)

Cheers for sharing this!
