So why pay $60 again when it will be $40 2 weeks later?

The answer is obvious, I got baited by "Pre order DLC" but now that EA has lowered the price on the console version.. I'm left wondering if I will ever buy a $60 game again from EA
When pay $40 for it when you can wait 20year and get if for a dollar. Its because we want the game then and not want to wait for the pay to drop.
Yeah because "20year" and 2 weeks are totally the same.
Its just $20! If you wait like 2-3 month the price will drop more.

This thread is going down in flames. Q: So why pay $60 again when it will be $40 2 weeks later? A: Don't
Then the question becomes "why pay $60 when it just lowers in a few weeks by 1/3?"
Unless you need the game "naonaoNAO", I'd rather save the $20 and spend it on, say, another good game.

My 2nd box was only $39.99 at Gamestop but my original one was a whole lot more and I bought it directly from EA site.

It's not at all absurd. Luring us in with pre-order content and charging us $60, then dropping the price to $40 two weeks later is incredibly shady.
Did they honestly advertise the price at release? Yes.
Did you get the game you thought you were getting? Yes.
What else is there? Things that happen after your purchase CANNOT reasonably impact how you feel about that transaction. That's like saying that whether you enjoyed your life can be affected by things that happen after you die.

The OP's point is a fair one. If we had all known the game would drop by $20 on consoles two weeks later, I think most of us would have waited. I got it for PC at $47 plus $10 back on Amazon, so I have no real problem, but I hate when games drop so soon after I buy them, and I have definitely seen DA for $37 on Amazon in all forms for periods of time this week.
If you were buying a car and paid $15,000 for it and then saw it sold at the SAME dealer for $12,000 just two weeks later, wouldn't you feel at least *somewhat* gypped? Or are you that passive? "Que sera, sera" to everything? To someone under 25, especially under 18, $20 is fairly significant.

The point about not buying new games at launch during late October/early November is a good one, but then again Modern Warfare 2 looks pretty locked in, so sometimes you expect you're making a purchase that'll be a good value for a while.

EA dropped their console version by $10, not $20, and it was 3.5-4 weeks after release, not 2 weeks. Lets get our facts straight here.
Also, Best Buy, Amazon, Steam, and other places have all dropped their prices for Holidays sales, why can't EA do the same thing? Lets also not forget that for years now, Best Buy has been putting new PC games on sale with in 4 weeks of being released, yet nobody cries foul on them?

Best Buy didn't publish the game. That's the big difference.

And, your point is? EA is also a retailer. So once again, why can't EA have sales, just like everybody else can?

Caveat Emptor applies. Don't blame the merchant for your weak will; after all THEIR job is to separate YOU from YOUR money. It's your job to keep ahold of it. Sorry, you lose.
