I think I have both of Angry Joe's links posted, but I'm not sure.

I don't know about holding the line, exactly. I do hope that the writing team and most especially the specific writers who came up with the ending, have read those articles by now and understand exactly how badly they screwed it up.

I also hope that they've learned by now that we cannot judge a product by future add-ons or DLC, only by what is actually presented to us.

The one about the ending was racist and offensive, while a bit extreme, makes a lot of good points. Kind of takes a look as to why subconsciously people feel strongly about the ending.

Your comment about the dark energy ending was still welcome. In my opinion, the dark energy ending, while foreshadowed in Mass Effect 2, would have been a head-scratching sort of ending. Not as unsatisfying and terrible as what we got, but still out of place. In addition to that, dark energy does not increase or decrease anymore than 'normal' energy does. It simply exists and can be manipulated by mass effect fields in the ME universe.

This definately deserve the sticky that it'll never get.

Altough what worries me almost as much as Bioware's crappy ending is the indoctrination theory.

Are people really this reluctant to accept that Bioware did... quite frankly... screw up when writing the ending?
It's like they're entering a dream state, desperately looking for excuses to lighten their disappointments.

People are very good at seeing patterns, even when those patterns aren't there. It says something about how shoddy the ending is, when your players are looking for *evidence* that it wasn't the real ending and *praying* that it was all a dream sequence.

Just something I noticed, the links

"Why the Fans are upset"
and
"About those "Insightful" and "Philosophical" Endings"

both link to the "Why the Fans are Upset" thread.

Pushing this to the top again, for more people to read, and asking for comments, discussion, or any links that you feel deserve to be added.

I constantly see some of the individual articles linked, but no one posts to this thread. What, do I need a more hyperbolic title for the original post?

Great thread. Here is an excellent YouTube review. Was posted yesterday and it is taking reddit/bsn/youtube by storm. 2000+ viewers in several hours. Excellent review.

Apologies if it's already on the OP. I only see 2 youtube links.

I'll have to watch it first, which is something I can't really do on a university lab computer.
