That California Literary Review piece is sensational! Should be required reading for everyone on both sides of the debate. Brilliant stuff!

I'm not sure I'd call it brilliant, but it's definitely on point, and speaks to the problems with the endings. It's one of the few professional reviews that even address the ending, and its the only one so far that I've seen that goes into any detail.

The other one I saw that even mentioned the ending, the reviewer said, "The ending is poor, I'm taking off two points for it." Two points out of a hundred with the final score being 98/100? I'm sorry, but this wasn't a 100/100 game to start with. A "perfect" game to me is flawless; this game has a face import bug, some problems with cameras and apparently missing characters in cinematics, places where the characters can get stuck (frequently), etc. Throw in the debacle of an ending, and it would be more appropriate to put it at around 70 to 77.

I think it really is very well done. He sets the stage and then delivers an appropriately scathing take down of the ending, going into where it's flawed and why that matters so much. Brilliant is appropriate, IMO -- not that I really want to argue about that.

I don't mind that they've been posted, the more the better, but I'm focusing on high-quality critiques of the ending, specifically.

 Here's a review I made of the endings specifically, it talks about things they did right and wrong with it (in my opinion). You can watch for yourself and gauge the quality, although I feel I was pretty fair overall:
