You're very welcome. I'm always open to looking for new articles and critiques, and I did actually come across a decent explanation of the themes of the ending on the Escapist's forums. However, the author committed a classic error, probably the same error Casey Hudson did; the themes presented in the ending may be coherent in and of themselves, but they're not, in any way, tied to the main themes of the Mass Effect games as they're presented.

My favorite is definitely the YouTube Video "Mass Effect 3 Ending: Tasteful, understated nerdrage" by MrBTongue.
It's a big chunk to watch (almost 40 min) but it adresses every problem in a very detailed manner and without being unpolite.
It's like: Fact, fact, fact, explanation, fact, fact, explanation (and so on). A really great piece of work he pieced together.

It is, really. He summarizes a lot of the literary points at the end, with that little graphic about narrative coherence.

Pushing this back up to the top again. Ignorance about why people really are angry about the ending, and the actual root cause of that, is still rampant.

Pushing it to the top for the early morning crowd. I've noticed a serious drop off in the posting rate over the last day or so. I suspect a lot of people are giving up on Bioware.

Thanks. It's just so extremely frustrating. I *know* Bioware's writers are capable of writing very engaging scenes, very engaging dialog, and I *know* they're capable of wrapping up plots in satisfying and emotionally fulfilling ways, even when the protagonist dies.
To have this utterly crappy, unfinished, simplistic ending is completely mind-boggling, confusing, and disappointing.

Not as such. But I hear there's this great list, right, and more people should read it.
And so they did.
And so they did.

Naturally this is the one thread the Bioware folks are studiously ignoring. Quelle surprise.

Yes, I did notice a lack of response. I'm pretty sure the Bioware people have seen every thread and many of the linked articles, if only because they've been brought to their attention so many times.
Personally, I will not be happy with 'just' an 'expanded and clarified' ending sequence. Ideally, I'd like the entire Catalyst AI sequence dumped entirely in favor of a better ending that uses established characters (such as, say, Avina) and one that fits with the themes of the trilogy AS WE HAVE PLAYED IT rather than some b-plot that was resolved on Rannoch.

I'd not mind them recycling the current ending, if they choose to implement the indoc Theory in a good way. Otherwise, yes, scrap the damn thing - especially the starchild.

Yeah. Really, the only way to salvage the ending at this point is to say "It was just Shepard being indoctrinated" and 'restarting' the last mission with Shepard waking up in the rubble, for the *real* ending.
