Almost everybody has seen the pattern that EA has wanted Bioware to release big name games near the end of march since this when their fiscal year ends, and big names means profit. So release dates might not be up to Bioware's well intentioned DA team, but if they did have more control over it I'm sure everyone would sleep happier at night.

DAII - March 8
ME2 - January 26
DA:0 - November 3
ME3 - March 6

I'm sure everyone wants it before next gen comes out. However if rushed to fast you'll get a DAII storm, if it takes to long..............well. 'm sure no one wants to wait more than 4 years for DAIII before they start calling vaporware and breaking into the Edmonton office looking for evidence.

So fanboys. Discuss.

I am willing to wait years, if they actually make the game good. Sadly this won't happen, so I expect another early release of an unfinished game riddled with bugs, horrendous balance and 0 day DLC, which was supposed to be part of the original game.

I'm thinking we might get it march next year. Most game series have a 2 year times period beofr ethe next one is released. But I'm hoping we'll get it some time next year

Depends I remember playing StarCraft and waiting for Blizzard to release StarCraft II. By the time StarCraft II came out I did not care. Just like I did not care about Skyrim. I simply had moved on to other games. Take to long and the game simply falls of my radar. Also the longer it takes the tougher it is to keep the entire creative team together. Losing a programmer may not be a big deal losing a writer can be.

As long as it takes to make a legitimately well implemented and polished game

I waited five years for Dragon Age: Origins, but I think its development costs weren't easy on BioWare. I'd hope they get it out in three years. ME 1 to ME 2 took two years, so that's doable.

I suspect that it was the 2 year development time more than anything that caused Dragon Age 2 to... well, to be Dragon Age 2. Let them take as long as they want if you ask me. Good RPGs take more time to make than games in other genres. You can't make one with any sort of depth in 2 years.

I'd wait forever. That being said, I would like it right now in my lap :P

Seriously though, I expect it in probably 2years at this point and time. Perhaps a little longer

Edit: thats under the assumption that they've been working on it for at least a year or so already. If not then I'd bump my estimate up to 3 and a half years

I'll wait as long as I have to if it means they make Dragon Age III the best Dragon Age game yet.

I don't want DA3 now, I want DA2's expansion to happen first even though I know they ditched the project.

4 years is a perfectly acceptable development cycle.  But given that they've already developed the lore, 3 years should be sufficient.

They also just started working on it in earnest after cancelling Exalted March, so March 2015 would be fine.

Parts of Exalted March are being used for DA III and I assume they began that after DA II came out with a smaller team working on the DLC.

If it is true that DA3 will use Frostbite 2.0 engine I can wait over 2 years.

Until its out? Not much more I can do right? How long do I think it'll be.. probably next year not sure about March though, but we'll see, doubtful that they'd push it to 2014 or beyond but mm.

They're keeping the same engine. Which means lower costs, and faster development.

I can wait a lot, if they need time to produce a great game, they should have it.

I think 2 years should be enough time to make it good. I would wish a lots of new things , but overall just three really matters - No reused areas(meaning exploration), Longer Hairstyles (like seriously long down to 'back side', and up front at least to breast), and FIX ELVES!(they look terrible - put on them guy that did Qunari, he should be awarded a medal for "awesomness").

My take on this is -- I'm not sitting around *waiting* for DA3 to come out. I mean, I do other stuff and play other stuff. When it comes out (assuming it does) I imagine I'll hear about it, and most likely I'll buy it. I'd rather they take a longer time to develop it and do a good job then rush it out soon and have it be sloppy and full of holes and recycled environments.

I'll wait for however long it takes them to make it. It's not like I can reasonably demand they produce it for me now or anything.

Knowing EA, they'd never allow something crazy like an open discussion on the design and goals of the game from an incredibly early stage in development.  It would be pretty sweet if we could get something like that, but EA would never allow it...
