In his personal quest with his sister, Goldanna. After you've spoken to her and left her house, Alistair will talk to you.

Tell him everyone is out for themselves to trigger the hardening conversation, which I think only happens when he's at Friendly/Adore. Talk to him again and choose any response except for "That's not what I meant." Voila, hardened Alistair.

If you don't respond appropriately after Goldanna, then he'll never harden.

It didn't work for me. I saved the day defeated the dragon, we both lived, completely in love with each other. but it just ends with me walking out a door to credits. is that it? do i get to see a wedding?

There is a wedding mod avaliable for PC but beyond that I don't think there really is any addons for console.  I was hoping to see my warden go on the ship to seheron with Sten! >

Well, she can shack up with him in Amaranthine if he stays a Warden or be his mistress if he's king. No one gets to marry him except Cousie and then it's only shown in the mod.
