Working on a replay, and hearing Prothy talk about the salarians when they licked their eyes...primitive humans, turians and asari....got me wondering...

If the cycle were to be continued, which specie(s) would rise to become civilizations peak for the next cycle?

Pyjacks? Varren? The prejack paddlefish thing?

Yahg

edit: they dont kill all races just the pinnacle race(s) prothy makes references to the backwards ways of the pinnacle races.

Yeah, Pyjacks... I can see the Reapers coming back after 50 thousand years to reap the pyjacks :)

The Yahg will wage a war with the space hamsters for dominance until the Reapers invade.

Yahg are 20th century equivalent, aren't they? I figure they'll be reaped too.

Probably the Yahg, since they seemed pretty close to achieve spaceflight, but not enough for them to being noticed by the Reapers (in fact, Hackett suggests the same thing).

Other than them, well...assuming the Raloi's gambit paid off, then probably they might have survived so they would probably have a seat in a future galactic gouvernment, if not being dominant.

I can just imagine a capsuled Shepard coming out of stasis and saying "Space hamsters, huh? Back in my cycle you were running on wheels in a small tank in my quarters."

Also am I wrong in thinking they only take species with space traveling tech? Like I don't remember them ever saying anything about it but for some reason that's the implication I always got.

Dogs.

Since they're color blind, there's some hope that if they did reach the catalyst they'd just get confused, ignore all his BS, and bite him instead of accepting his stupid premise like Shepard did.

The Yahg would destroy each other first.

It would be some other random species

It would have to be the most unevolved form of life around today.

So, pro-enders.

Jokes, probably insects.

Okay, think about what species they let live in the Prothean cycle.
The Asari started interstellar spaceflight some 2700 years before the beginning of the game, at the time of the Prothean culling they hadn't even discovered writing.

The Yahg are toast.

^This^

Seeing as how intellegent they can be and how they're probably as strong if not stronger then a Krogan they defenitly seem like the next dominating race.

They're ignoring them for now, obviously they'll go after priority civilisations first. But they stick around for centuries, they'll get their turn I bet.

I would think the Yahg would be reaped...though I dont know too much about them. Considering they had high intelligence (shadow broker)...I would suspect they would be part of the reaper's genocide.

Or they could become the future krogan archtype perhaps.
