Yahg are 20th century equivalent, aren't they? I figure they'll be reaped too.

hackett says some time around the tuchanka arc that the reapers are ignoring the Yahg homeworld

If you were gonna reap the galaxy would you bother going to attack a species that hasn't even made it into space yet before attacking the ones that are spread out all over the place?

The Asari were the most advanced when the Protheans vanished. The way I see it, could be even Gas Bags ou Pod crabs.

Great the next race that will dominate the galaxy is the Yahg...
Ten times worse than the Krogans. Let the Reapers come!!

Okay, think about what species they let live in the Prothean cycle.
The Asari started interstellar spaceflight some 2700 years before the beginning of the game, at the time of the Prothean culling they hadn't even discovered writing.

The Yahg are toast.

as per the post below this, :wizard:, i dont know i figured they had gotten really backwards after the council observer came and investigated. The Yahg that the salarians were researching had 0 speech and seemed nothing more than a barrel full of rage.

Gas bags. That would be something.

If the Raloi are passed over by the Reapers, then them. They already have access to Mass Effect technology and know about the Citadel and the Relays. Plus, they are aware of the Reapers nothing drives progress like the threat of robot space horrors coming to kill you. Of course though, the Reaper vanguard would probably notice their assent and alert the Reaper fleet before the Raloi would create a reasonable defense against them.

The yagh are probably to far advanced. You really need to be a caveman not to get reaped.

The Yahg would find Liaras time capsule.
It would actually be a great cinematic if Shepard failed and the reapers won.

Yes, the yahg would probably become the next dominant race. The reapers ignore them since they do not have space flight yet.

I think the Raloi quickly left the galactic community and are trying to wait out this reaping. If the Reapers passed them up, the Raloi, with 50,000 years to prepare against the Reapers, might actually stand a chance against them.

Can you just imagine the cut scene with high tech space hamsters fighting the Yahg? Funny

If the raloi are 'waiting out the reaping' I would think the reapers would note this. I was under the impression the reapers left species that were barely cognitive.

Like someone mentioned before, the asari could not even write when the protheans went.

Well, they are trying to wait it out. No guarantees it works.

Assuming there was a shadow broker yahg, they can write, talk and comprehend massive amounts of information with great organizational skills.

Unless that was like.....a ridiculous genetic mutation advancement tyoe yahg oO

The shadow broker was a Yahg before Liara got the job but not sure if he was enhanced in any way.

Aw, you stole my ending idea ;<. But yeah, it would be awesome.

The captured Yagh on Sur'Kesh didn't seem very advanced to me.

Definitely the Yahg - they were close, but hadn't achieved space flight yet so they were quite a ways away from playing around with the physics of mass and energy manipulation and wouldn't be targets for reaping.

The Yahg would destroy each other first.

It would be some other random species

Nope, one of the codex entries mentions that while they will fight each other for dominance, once a winner has emerged the rest will instantly fall in line and loyally follow that leader without question:

"A group of yahg is unable to cooperate until a single leader has been determined through either social maneuvering or brute force, but no grudges are held once a yahg establishes dominance. Former rivals serve their new superior's purpose with unflinching loyalty and relentless determination, a legacy of their origin as pack species." - Codex

The trap is that a race develops FTL travel, finds a mass relay, then ends up on the citadel ready to be harvested. Any race pre-FTL is pretty much safe when the reapers arrive.

Well, evolution-wise the various species are not that far apart, like someone already said there's like less than 3000 years of spaceflight in this cycle, if that's the advancement gap between them it's nothing when compared to 50k years. Them leaving the Yahg alone like Hackett tells you doesn't make that much sense. They seem to have more than the necesary intelligence and ability to do space flight, they just don't do it. Once a space-flight level civilation contacts you (not observes you but actively seeks contact like the council did with the Yahg), I think you're toast, or you logically should be.

Yeah, but I have always considered him a freak of nature. Like keeping a pet gorilla, and with some space magic you can make it talk and write :)

The other Yahgs you see in the game are like caged animals. Nude and angry hehe

Most liekly the Raloi if they weren't reaped. If you don't know who they are they were announced in the Cerberus News Network in Mass Effect 2 when the Asari came across one of their space telescopes. They're at 20th century level, the wiki says that they closed their Citadel embassy and the relays leading to the planet in hopes of the Reapers deeming them too primitive to harvest. Most likely the Yahg will end up like the Krogan after they discover how to split the atom.
