Yeah... creating a galactic dark age isn't really a rewarding or satisfying end... Not sure why they thought it was a good idea..

What, you didn't hear that massive famine, suffering, and a dark age is, "bittersweet"? :?

I guess I missed the memo.

Ide like to say that even though im personally dissapointed in the ending, and my initial reaction was not unlike many here, i am now at peace with it. I loved the rest of ME3 and it would be interesting with a new ending but i really dont care either way, i will still probably buy bioware games and im still gonna finish my 3 other characters in ME3 :)

Heres the link to the notes from the final hours app. I reccomend buying it since it gives u nice insight from the wonderful bioware team and its a great read.

“[The presence of the Rachni] has huge consequences in Mass
Effect 3. Even just in the final battle with the Reapers.”

Hmm I don't recall seeing ONE single Rachni during the final battle...

Just a fair warning on buying into things you are told.  That's kinda the reason for this whole mess ya know?

How exactly does that disprove the indoctrination "theory"? It doesn't. In the text that is the meat and potatoes of that app it states that in the end of the game they had a sequence where the player loses complete control of Shepard. It was cut because they had issues with the dialogue.

They were trying to find a way to convey to the player that the Reapers were pouring it on old Shep and his indoctrination was being kicked into high gear.

There's absolutely nothing in those shots that negates Shepard being indoctrinated. One of the developer's even has a quote in the book part of that app talking about how no other being has been exposed to Reapers and Reaper tech than Shepard.

Did you even read the book part of the app?

I get the "bitter" part, but wheres the "sweet" come in ? It's like saying:

"Yeah...we're going to cure your rare, life threatening illness, by killing you."

The Dark Age idea doesn't really bother me. If that's what it takes to escape the grasp of the Reapers, I'm all for it.

And the Dark Age part of the timeline has some serious potential for a future Mass Effect game, if they want to pursue that.

My mind. It reels. I still just can't fathom how anyone could think such an ending was a good idea.

Those images just make me even more pissed. So it really does do all the terrible things we were thinking.

And the deliberate leave-out of certain characters in the lines gah

Considering how close to 3/6 that article is, I'm REALLY wondering if they actually did cut the end out and are releasing it as dlc. The situation is horrible whether he was lying or not.

I'm pretty sure we'll see nothing about the dark age.
They already said if they make another ME game it'll take place before or during ME3.
Then again, I guess we shouldn't trust anything they say at this point. <_<

I just want to know, wasn't there enough pain and suffering in the whole game?
Earth, Thessia, Palaven and all those other planets falling? Millions dying every single day, millions more being turned into abominations, everyone on the Citadel dead, death and destruction everywhere.... and then on top of all that you basically destroy the galaxy?

I was okay with all the damage the Reapers were doing, it was the biggest war the galaxy would ever have - but there was hope that somehow we'd pull through and recover.
Then that ending and we find... there's no hope. Nothing mattered. Every ending leads to a dark age. Woohoo!

Galactic...dark...age...
I get angry whenever I read that (as someone else already said)...

Wait a second...wasn't that...one of the endings from the original Deus Ex?
That's almost an exact rip off...

Except let's not forget that this is a game. They could have made anything they want defeat the Reapers. There was no need to cause a "galactic dark age". I don't enjoy spending over $200 and nearly 1000 hours of gametime in order to cause a "galactic dark age" no matter what I do.

As a History Major, I am particularly upset at the idea of causing a "galactic dark age" as if it's a good thing.

That is the antithesis of "good".

Crack open a book and see how "brave new worldy" Europe was after the fall of the Roman Empire.... ugh.. UGH.

Oh please. For what? For an old man to tell stupid stories to a child 10,000 years later?
I'll say it again. Might as well let the Reapers win.

Like what? Mass Effect 4: Who Eats Who?
