Not sure about you, but my Shep would **** anyone up if they tried anything on his girl. ;)

He can't. He's dead.

EDI did say she had a big mouth... :)

Y;know, I wouldn't put it past EDI to be the leak. It owuld explain why Liara won't share Asari sexual secrets with her, and we all know how irresistible it is for 2 females to start gossiping about their sex life. EDI + Blabbermouth + opening 1.24 million browser windows = butchered secret identity?

I only had Liara for a LI with a FemShep and my FemShep is a tough *****. If anyone tries to hurt Liara my FemShep will go all ninja(kai leng) on their ***.

The Yahg on the Salarian homeworld (according to Garrus' joking, anyway) knows who the Shadow Broker is.

Doesn't TIM know?

Well considering he sent a strike team to kill her I'd say so. Liara even mentions she and Feron programed the ship to fly into the Cerberus cruiser. What a shame, I loved that ship.

They should've made it so that if you played the LotSB DLC, Liara makes it spaceworthy before Cerberus can attack and it joins the final battle.
But that'd require compromising their artistic integrity or something.

Ninja Kai Leng? That kind of goes against your point, seeing as he was a complete fail ninja. He ran away like a coward after each encounter, and a dying drell (Thane) quite nearly took him out.

Most do not know that she is THE Shadow Broker, but many know she is a powerful information broker. Shepard knows of course, as do the Illusive Man and Admiral Hackett and some of the Normandy crew. I won't say that all of the crew know, since it's mentioned that she keeps to herself, but Joker and your squadmates do.

lol.

I actually found it really funny that like, practically EVERYONE you meet is like, "C'mon, of COURSE it's f***in Liara." Wrex's commentary on it was the greatest.

Batman trusted that kind of secret with fewer people, much less enemies, and STILL his identity got leaked out. So I wouldn't bet liara growing old enough to be a matron or matriarch with the way her identity's spread out like this.

Barla Von knows as well.

I doubt it. The fact the Liara has to send you to talk to him, and he says the words "Shadow Broker" 10 times 15 seconds seems like he doesn;t ahve a clue. However, he's probably the only one who doesn't know.

You're right, he does simply refer to them as the Shadow Broker, and not Liara directly.

Barla Von still refers to the Broker as a 'he'...so he definitely has no clue.

Again, it's in Barla Von's interest to protect the Shadow broker's identity. If Shepard came at him asking for the shadowbroker, do you think he would let it slip that he KNEW? He'd trown a corve ball eveyr chance he got.

So anyway if TIM knows wouldn't he just tell everyone, you know, to be a jerk?

So.... Liara's closest friends, Hackett, and the guy that essentially set it all up know.. Yeah, that's not everyone. I'm betting Mordin told Wrex, as he can't really keep his mouth shut, either.

Since the ship was designed to circle that planet, inside of that storm, I doubt it'd even be good for space travel, let alone combat.

It's not surprising that those people know who the Shadowbroker is, since, you know, the Normandy with its Cerberus crew was there when she took over. Even if they don't know the details of what occurred, they have to know where they went and the giant ship, and any communication that got leaked (especially if Shep keeps -visiting- the ship again and again).

That said, I don't know if that really makes a difference. Her agents are presumably anonymous, and her communication infrastructure appears to be intact, and that's really all that matters. Most of her time is on a secured, virtually completely stealthy ship, moving around. It doesn't matter that people know who she is if they can't get to her or prevent her from operating (you know who the Illusive Man is, but that alone doesn't get you very far). The only time she'd be vulnerable is on the Citadel...maybe that's why Cerberus attacked.

Exactly. Nothing can ruin your identity faster than a wacked out terrorist organization with virtually unlimited funding and resources. From TIM's view, he's taking out a competitor.

EDI knows. When she tells Shepard, he acts SHOCKED...even though Liara told him much earlier in the game.

That was my thought. She's not very good at hiding her identity.

1)  Liara's not human

2)  TIM's only a jerk to humans

*cough* Um, isn't Cerberus a pro-humanity terrorist group? And didn't cerberus consider medigel advances for the Hanar a "Failure"? Yeah, TIM is definitely friendly to aliens! - end sarcasm

Only a jerk to humans? Have you been playing a different game? 'cause in the Mass Effect I've played, TIM wants human dominance throughout the entire galaxy. He despises all other races.

I wouldn't bet on Liara remaining the Shadow Broker after this. If the current endings stand, she's stuck on an alien planet. If the endings are fixed and the Relay network upheld, what point is there in a Shadow Broker when few people are left would need the service.

Actually, assuming the relays were preserved, with the galaxy in recovery mode I'd say there'd be a huge market for spies and info, who's getting what supplies, who's bidding for leadership and so on.

Who does he kill in mass quantities and do ghastly experiments on?

Humans

Cerberus has been far far worse to humans than non-humans, going by what we see in game.

Fair enough, but he does it because he wants to "evolve" them into superbeings... a few sacrifices here and there are ok in his book. He doesn't do it because he hates humans.

In the scenario that the Relay network does survive, the focus would be on rebuilding and cooperation I believe. Secrets take time to form, and the current round of information shouldn't be good since more of the people would care about either gaining or protecting such secrets are probably dead. Factor in the fact that Liara is a good person and that the Shadow Broker's role would require an apathic personality, then I cannot imagine Liara staying in the role. My opinion of course, and this all hangs on a possible ending DLC, so take my thoughts for what their worth, not much.
