Highlights:
"ME3 had, what I felt was a perfect ending to one of the best sci fi series ever"
"ME3 recieved a 10/10 from me and recieved 74 perfect scores from other video game critics"
"The ending was smart imaginative and in some cases may have gone over a few peoples' heads"
"it is a complex ending and a broader idea than many stories end on... as far as plot holes? I didn't see any"

This guy is out of touch, oh and his sheppard looks like a monkey.

Or maybe the numerous plot holes went over his head. :innocent:

Or his ego did.  He probably played the ending, got so confused by it, but wouldn't admit to himself that he didn't get it...and then he wasn't smart enough to realize that it's just a bad ending.  Fail on both fronts.

I though you guys would've learned by now not to take some of these things so seriously. Check the Moriarty guy on IGN. Like he really knows what he's talking about.

Yeah, but Erk Kain at Forbes utterly wrecked him.

Bringing up an article from 2 years ago where the dude totally defends changing the ending to a game.  So, people that don't know anything about IGN know he totally contradictes his self and I can speculate on what they think of his "Ethics" considering it's in an article about journalistic integriy...

That dude got his justice in a HUGE HUGE WAY!

I'm tempted to go to IGN for their Friday event where they call the CORE fans the good Dr. referes to, we Line Holders that he respects so much, ignorant idiots that don't get it.

I want to ask one question.

So, Collin how does it feel to know that Forbes and most of the major business community has seen you be tottally contradicted in Forbes?  <-----  I'd LOVE to see his face!

So, he says that enjoying the ending isn't a matter of opinion then immediately says it may have gone over some people's heads and continues by saying how complex it is. Ugh...sounds like you are implying that only smart people get the ending. I could be very wrong, but I think some people actually say that loved the ending simply to appear to be better than all those who didn't get it. Granted, I think this is a very small % of a those who loved it, and I admit it is an unfounded belief.

I didn't think the ending went over my head. I understood what they were trying to accomplish, I just didn't like the fact I don't know the details how my decisions affected the universe (mass effect relays destroyed, the Rachni spreading, the Genophage cured, the Geth destroyed (despite making peace with them), etc.) and why Joker is running away.

I guess its sad that I see so many people weighing in on the uproar simply to get views; and not even just those who "loved" the ending and defending BioWare but also those who side with us. Even knowing, presumably I suppose, that this is the idea still I can't help but be upset by it. Ugh...I'm getting trolled by media outlets.

I'm just mad about the thinly veiled ad hominem in which he was basically insulting my intelligence. If you are going to claim that you know more about science fiction than other science fiction fans, then maybe you should make sure you understand the core concepts that the work is based on before you go calling me simpleton.

If you were to try and quantify everything that is wrong with modern journalism, MSNBC would likely be the end result of your attempts.

Wow. No plotholes? I suppose that works if you don't stop to question what you see.

Went over our heads? Sorry, but when the justification for your opinion is that the other people are too dumb to get it, it makes me question how much you've thought this through.

Do people who think this ending is original just not consume enough sci fi or what? Transhumanism and "God" granting wishes is so overplayed in this medium.

I can understand why some people may like the ending. Even though I ultimately want the ending changed, there are aspects of the ending that I like a great deal. It annoys me when both sides claim people are wrong to like the ending or wrong to not like the ending: no one can tell someone what to like or not like. Liking a thing is probably wholly subjective, but plot holes are much closer to being objective, and it is just silly to say that the ending does not have plot holes. It's fine to say that those plot holes are not a big enough deal to bring your opinion down. That at least leads to further discussion of why one feels the plot holes can be ignored because of other important factors. It does no good to categorically deny that plot holes exists because doing so completely shuts off any conversation. If he admits there are plot holes but the ending was so moving that they don't matter (or something like that) at least a statement like that opens up the debate to talking about how to weigh elements of a story and discussing ideas like themes vs. details vs. characters, etc. etc. etc. But to just say that there are NO plot holes that you can see...... you must have your eyes closed! Statements like that do not defend Bioware, they defend ignorance! There are elements of the ending that should be defended, but not by people who just stick their fingers in their ears and yell "I CAN'T HEAR YOU I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

That's hardly fair.

Plenty of failure from CNN and Faux News too. And they all fail in such colorfully distinct and amazing ways, that Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert actually make a living from pointing them out.

But still, this reviewer liked the ending, and that's fine. He can keep it, he says he wants the ending that the Mass Effect creators intended, well, it's there in the disc (unless indoc theory is right and they planned this all along). But why deny us the possibility of ending our series like we feel it should, you know. On a way that makes some sense...

Also, no plot holes?

HA!

Everyone who didnt like the ending was just dumb and it was over their head..........I love all these game reviews that are bashing gamers over not like/wanting endings changed or clarified. Keep bashing your target audience and see how far it gets you. As for not seeing plot holes they must have been over your head.
