I mean, there's something to be said for standing up for your cause. Going to PAX and asking poignant questions, being easily identified as a Retake member so the media can spot you, and NOT behaving like an idiot so negative press overwhelms the message we're trying to get out.

Feel free to glare daggers at the panel, though.

Our Choices Should Matter - Hold the Line

+1  I wish I was even close to this expo.

Please keep it civil, calm, and relevant!

I will be there and I plan on going to the Bioware panel just because of the last 3 games being not so great, but I will be civil about it. Seriously, if people act up it gives reason to 'gamers are more aggressive' argument. That, and you get kicked out of PAX.

If Bioware canceled. PA would be made for the new open slot, and Bioware would not be making fans happy.

Bioware has not announced Panelists yet to probably avoid lashing out from fans. (Last I looked)

TOR needs the heat on it. To create amazing games you need fan criticism, testing, and the ability to replicate and improve what is already out there.

We are fans and customers. We fight because we care. If it was all about the money, you would be getting a lot less. I would be happy about this movement, it means players care and there is potential to keep them as fans.

I usually just catch the "headlines" from PAX on news sites and never watch much of panel videos or what not.... How do the panels work? Is it nothing but a big Q&A session? Or do the panels talk about topics of their choice (DLC, upcoming games, etc....) and possibly take questions at the end?

Generally what ever the Panelist chooses. I've been to Q&A sessions and ones that have shown their content and content plans. There are such variety of panels it is hard to really say what they are. I would reccomend looking at the PAX listing to see minor descriptions.

I can't see this going well for Bioware either way. They'll take a lot of flak if they cancel, but they'll also take just as much (or more) if they go. I wouldn't want to be in their position right now, that's for sure.

Then, why using an academic term when there is NO debate, NO exposition, NO self-analysis and NO peer review.

That sounds like glorified propaganda.

Thanks REM, I will have to check it out....  Ever since they mentioned the whole PAX thing, I have only been able to picture them presenting DA3 and Taking Back Omega or something and just doing their best to avoid the topic and not take questions so anyone who acts up trying to get them to talk about it just comes accross as a raving idiot......  Hopefully they open up about it more than I am expecting Posted Image

Have any of you people ever thought putting some effort into something that actually matters? All of this talk of elaborate protest planning all over a 5 minute conclusion of a video game is unreal.

 well...lets just say this:
If bioware cancel with no announcement, they will literally lose ALL the support of everyone, even some ending-supporter, because they literally just duck the question and its bad PR, it shows you don't care about your fanbase.
If they do plants and ask soft question or have plants that cause a scene, it won't end well for Bioware EA as well.  Case in point, see what EA does during E3 for Dante's Inferno promotion.  EA hired actors to act as reglious ppl that protest Dante's Inferno as "devil's game", and they got busted.  What happen afterward?  EA have to apologize to the public for "religious insensitivity".  Plants will get discovered since ppl will interview/ask them questions about who they are and why they're there.

the best Bioware can do right now for PAX is to have announcements (on extra DLC and somewhat detail plans for new ending dlc)  a day or 2 before their Pax East panel, then have either Mac or Casy, along with Dr. Myzuki and Jessica from Community Manager to answer questions.  That way they can placate the Retake movement and come out smelling better then what they are right now, not to mention make their shareholder happy.  (Lets be real, EA is probably breathing down their neck over what happen here, since EA are refunding ppl on Origin and that Hurts EA directly.)

but no matter what happen: everyone need to be civil and be polite to the Bioware panel, and don't dress up in colors/signs, whatever, that way its harder for them to single you out as Retake and allow u a chance to ask question.

Hold the line!  and as Terrell Ownes once said: "Get Yo Popcorn Ready!":innocent:

Because if you're calling it "Game Propaganda Panels" no one is going to go there.

As I said they are so diverse, you can't really expalin them all as one thing. There are Panels that have 'Submit your game ideas.' You go, spew your ideas, the panel tells you whats up, you talk about it, then next person goes. That is why I recommended reading the descriptions, all of them are different.

I actually feel sorry for Bioware in this instance. They're stuck in a Damned if Do, Damned if Don't situation.

If I were them, and knew how things had gone I would actually go in ready to weather the storm. By answering fan questions directly and honestly they'd actually win back a lot of PR and respect.

Might not be the "corporate" thing to do, but it would be one way of cutting the legs out from some of the more unreasonable folks on the fringes of the movement.

Personally I'd quite like to see a Retake Omega DLC so long as the current reshuffling of the release orders solves the clarity/closure issues we've asked for.

Who said we don't? I write and submit opeds on political issues to newspapers, call congressional staff on issues before votes, and work with an NGO in my spare time. Just because I'm willing to fight for one set of issues doesn't mean I don't have time to fight for another. :P

If they turn up there's the possibility of a nutter shouting at them, or an aggressive Retaker asking the same question over and over, or even different people asking the same questions which they would be unable to answer without further company damage or simply cannot answer.

If they don't turn up then the Retake Movement gets it "confirmed" that Bioware doesn't want to listen. The "Mass Media" talks about how Bioware was bullied out of a chance to show off new content by a "Small vocal minority" and we all suffer as a result.

Either the DLC will be out by then or they will be announcing/showing it at PAX.

And if anyone throws tomatoes and whatnot I hope the police shows him just how idiotic it is to do that over a game.
