Nobody is going to 'heckle' Bioware at PAX or any other big public event. The people with the real vitriol only stick to the internet. Anyone who would actually take the effort to make the trip down to PAX will have some real constructive things to say about the game if they were to meet face-to-face with these big developers.

Even if the ending was just a terrible mistake, Bioware has a lot of smart people. I can't imagine a scenario where they would show up and just try to ignore the elephant in the room. I predict they will acknowledge the problem, make some self deprecating jokes to lighten the mood in the room and disarm some of the anger, and then discuss whatever plans they have to "give closure."

At the end of the day BW has been very open that they know this situation has caused strains with the biggest fans, they'll start trying to repair bridges and not further burn them. Or if they don't, there will be a lot of vacant office space in Edmonton.

i think it will be the opposite. the fans who show up will chicken out from asking the hard questions.

I really hope a gigantic Mass Effect fanbase shows up formed into 3 groups, wearing red, blue, and green respectively.

That would be epic

The fans enter the convention hall, ready to unleash their fury. Casey Hudson comes out on stage. There's tension. A couple of boos from the back, some cheers from the left, mostly silence. Casey walks to the microphone.

Casey: I see a lot of red, blue and green shirts out there...I guess we need to talk. But before that, there's something I'd like to show you.

The lights go down, the Bioware logo appears on the screen behind Casey, a video starts to play....

Five minutes later, the video ends with "...And it's free."

There's a stunned silence. Then applause and cheering. A standing ovation. Journalists covering the event are furiously typing. The internet is awash with words like "spectacular" and "genius" and the BSN crashes due to the suddenly increased traffic as fans come together to talk about what was just shown.

Suddenly it all makes perfect sense and it's sheer brilliance. One five minute video and all the fans are on board.

What are the chances?

There's a big chance the whole DLC is shorter than 5 minutes.

So that's the multiplayer map pack out of the way.

What about the endings?

There will be people praising the game. Look at all the DA2 PAXs. All people there celebrated and cheered on everything BW said, and fans will do that too for ME3.

no one is getting anything for free. ea will not spend millions of dollars to develop something to hand out to people. the only possibility of that is if they seriously thought that they would lose a ****load of fans, enough to hurt sales of future games and they need to repair the bridges.

but they wont, because they believe whatever they put out we will buy and the ending controversy is not big enough to lose that many sales of future games.

all you will accomplish by demanding it be free is make them less likely to do anything substantial as far as making the endings better.

To the 'retake' group.. Ask precise, civil even difficult questions, and get the answers we need. BioWare are walking a tightrope between worship or mass walkout.
You have my best wishes 'retake' team!
Holding the line!

That would be the best way to handle it.  Unfortunately they think their pride/ego is more important than making money and making the fans happy.  I am expecting some PR trash like how the big dog sites like IGN have given ME3 great scores and only SOME of their MOST VERY PASSIONATE HARDCORE fans want CLOSURE so they will be slapping together a block of text for us that we can buy for 10 bucks.

Zero, considering they are planning to address this with only a month's time.

Booing and whatnot is fine, I really hope no-one starts throwing anything though. No need to ****** off the people you want to remake something.

^If there is a God then this will happen :innocent:
