Please, let's not turn it into something it's not. So Child's Play is off the table. I can understand that and respect their decision. The point of the matter is that money was definitely raised and the children will ultimately benefit from it. Regardless of whether it can continue with the Retake movement, that is a monumental achievement that I think we can all be proud of.

You can still donate. You just can't do it with the RetakeME banner. If the donations were about the children, you'll continue to donate. If the donations were about the cause (RetakeME) maybe you won't continue to donate.

So he is refusing money for a charity because he doesn't agree with us? WTF
In fairness, he's saying he's refusing the money for a charity from anyone that's attached to a cause (other than just giving sick kids toys), regardless of whether he agrees with us. Of course, he has previously stated on his website that he does, in fact, disagree with us.
But didn't that charity start as a cause?
I'm just saying what the point in saying no to free money?

I have to agree though. It took a video game ending to get people to donate.
Tell that to the kids.
Better than nothing

I suppose I found reason here to never visit their site again, since they find their platform of calling people whiners while being uninformed to be more important than actually giving games to sick chicldren. GG, Gabe. Very... admirable.

OP... You were very rude against him. Yes they did stop collecting donations, and that might or might not be wrong, but OP. That doesn't mean contact them on twitter and be rude. ( and chances are if you were tactful to start with then most likely they would not have had a rude reply. )
I support the donations, and I was upset over it closing down, but being rude and calling out people does not help the cause. It hurts the cause.
It doesn't matter what they did, do, or might have done. Keep civil, keep tactful and maybe we will be taken serious.

It'd be brutal.
"Sorry kids. They didn't want to donate because of you. They just wanted good publicity for their cause... they can't get that now so they've don't want to donate to help anymore."

I agree. The push raised around $80k and that's nothing to sneeze at. Nothing good will come of forcing an issue here.The_Crazy_Hand wrote...
I hate to tell you this, but we need to just let it go. As of now, the reception we got is overall positive. We've said our peace, and it's over now. Pushing will just destroy the progress this made for us.
