I recently purchased DAO trough Origin and I have been trying to download it for the past week. I've encountered several errors since origin has troubles with pausing downloads. I can't download the game without stopping the download because sometimes my connection drops and I suppose the installer gets messed up.

My questions would be: Can I get the game from somewhere else? For example a friend that has it( I know a couple of friends that used to play it) and use my product key on that installer? Or can I download it from unofficial sources and also use that key for that install? Or is the game key linked to that particular installer?

I certainly cannot recommend using "unofficial sources"... any whiff of piracy is frowned-upon here.

You may want to troubleshoot the download issue at help.origin.com.

I was referring to obtaining a download/installer from somwhere else and using my key with that installer. For example if I used y friends disc to install it, can I use my key with it? Not suggesting piracy to play it since I have the product key for it.

I already send an email to origin support stating my problem but from what I can gather using the search function in the forum the download gives issues when you pause it and then start it again.
