Liara acts as if I wasn't her partner on presidium commons

I romanced liara in Me1 and LOTSB, and so far ME3 was making sense in that context from mars onwards. However, once she asked me to meet her on the presidium commons, it sounded more like she wanted to be friends, until I said "friends doesn't cut it".

Makes no sense, when in prior missions she was swooning all over my shepard. Lol.

Is this a bug or an oversight? I don't mind if it is I just need to know, I could probably put it down to Liara's insecurity (saying friends just to triple check shepard likes her). But I hope I haven't encountered a bug and missed any contionuity arcs because of this?

Does liara always say "friends" on the prsidium commons when she asks to meet you?

She does to me, yes. Also, if you look at the list of things imported when you import a save, it will show that you didn't romance anyone in ME2, dispite your romance with Liara in LOTSB.  This could be a bug in the save import process (similar to the Conrad Verner bug in ME2), or it could be that this romance wasn't recorded in the savegame (similar to your decisions about the Council in ME1).

Whaaa?

My decisions about the concil? I thought that was a key decision in ME1 that surely crossed over surely???

does LOTSB just not count as a romance???

In ME1, the final save is created just before the scene where you choose who to be councilor. So your choice doesn't end up being recorded. To fix this, they have the player re-choose at the start of ME2 during your very brief "interview" with Miranda and Jacob on the shuttle.

ok so what about Liara, is she supposed to act a bit stand offish on the citadel presidium commons? I just thought she would have already assumed a relationship given how lovey dovey she was prior to that scene.

Yes, same thing happened to me. Romanced her in ME1, didn't romanced anyone in ME2 but talked about blue babies and so on with Liara and of course did romance option with her in LOTSB. It was weird already that she said it's been years since we are together on Mars mission and it was really weird on presidium she said she want to be friends and i had to say once more that i want to be with her more than friends. It was actually already the third time i said that (first on Mars and second was on Normandy sometime after Mars mission).
All I can think is that Bioware just messed up with checks or didn't wanted to do alternative course of action for us (faithful to Liara) other than they give to those who cheated or even haven't romanced anyone at all (they just made game so that gamers who haven't played any previous games can romance her and this presidium commons meeting with her is the way to get her as romance option for them but it also seals the deal for us once and for all).

Same for me.. it's strange as before that even her dad recognized me and all the other conversations are telling me that I'm with Liara.

imo... i think it's just extra dialogue that wasn't really intended for anyone that remained loyal from me1 through to me3....

There seems to be a LOT of that... still clueless as to why in the hell me2's selection of anderson as the consilor would carry over... that's still not explained anywhere.

A LOT of plot holes and confusion in the game that doesn't make sense.... total non acknowledgement of discisions made throughout the previous games aside from some here or there.

Your decision of Anderson is carried over, though it's only a remark after the Sur'Kesh mission. Anderson gave up his council chair in one of the comics.

Its a bug. Some of the LotSB stuff is mislabeled in the save import. You can fix it with a save editor.

Are there instructions lying somewhere on how to fix it with some editor?

Check out this webpage.  It has a up to date link to the latest version of Gibbed's ME3 Save Game Editor.  They also provide a short tutorial and a reference to what the different bollean values correspond to.

Nice! Thanks for the link!
I found Liara's dialogue odd but I was sure it was just an oversight. Now I might have to start a new game (import, that is) and edit the save at the very beginning to see if a couple more oddities iron out.

Checking my ME2 saves with Gibbed, my characters who have romanced Liara (remained faithful and with LotSB completed) have the romance progress flag set to "6".

Meanwhile, the notes in the editor say "To count as romanced someone, check their romance flag and set the progress value to "4"".

However, I checked a character who romanced Ashley in ME1, and the progress there is also set to "6". This character romanced Tali in ME2, but I can't find any entries relating to ME2 romances.

If anyone knows how to fix this, please post the instructions. I had been under the impression that it was intentional rather than a bug.

Just had the chat with Liara on the persidium with an edited save (edited values for romancedliara, romancedliaralotsb and liaratruelove specified on this list, there was one value set apparently incorrectly) and still got the same "friends" dialogue.
Are you sure this is a bug rather than an oversight? Have you (or anyone else) been able to get a different dialogue at that point? If so, than how?

IT MUST be an oversight, I doubt I would have had all the other options with liara at the beginning asking me if we were still together if I hadn't romanced her in LOTSB
