hello everyone

i wanted to replay one of my favourite games nwn2 so i tried to install it
the problem is nothing happens after the installer unpacks (the first nwn 2 setup is preparing the installer thingy)

my os is wndows 7 ultimate 64 bit

i have installed directx 9.0c,i have enabled net framework 3.5 from windows features (doesn't show up in programs list tho),i put the installer to xp sp2 compatiblity mode and ran it as adminstrator, uac is disabled in settings and regedit, exclusions given to autorun and setup exe in av program, windows defender disabled

any other ideas on what to do to get past the unpack and on to the actual installation ?

Did you try replacing dxdign.dll file as suggested on this blog?

i am having problems accessing syswow64 folder,i am on the administrator account but it says i can't access the folder

so i checked the security settings and saw that the permission boxes weren't checked, when i tried to change those security settings it gave the error "can't change security settings access denied"

i checked uac again and its disabled, and the value of it in regedit is 0

damn windows and its 989 layered user account system,238 versions of common language net framework thing and the extremely stupid DEP that creates bex errors 7/24

anyways i will search on how to replace that dll and will get back to you,it is the only thing i didn't try it seems
thanks for your suggestions

I'm a Mac user and run it in Windows XP, so I'm out of ideas. Sorry. I know there are people who run it on Windows 7 though. Not sure why it isn't compatible with your rig.

i found out the problem,it isn't enabling this disabling that

windows 7 doesn't recognise the setup.exe
looks like it was fixed in build 7000 beta,i am running build 7601 so it should be fixed

any ideas on how to get w7 recognise the setup.exe ?
