I have, I thought it was pretty tame. What squad did you use? I used one character for control (with Stasis and Singularity) and the other (with Overload and Incinerate). It was more than enough for me to handle most situations with ease.

There were a few incredibly annoying segments. The rest was meh. It was more of a waste of time than anything.

i did it as soldier class. using Liara and Garrus for most of the game then using Ash at the end. i would say banshees were the hardest thing to kill.

I personally always brought James. Carnage was a life saver on banshees and brutes and anything armored.

I'm playing a playthrough on Insanity at the moment. My first one on Insanity and I picked a Vanguard. It was a bit frustrating at the begining as I'm not used to that class and I was rushing to use charge all the time. But now I've levelled my powers up a bit more and also taken fitness, the fights are becoming shorter than what they were on Normal or Hardcore.

Okay, I have an honest question about playing on Insanity. Why? Does the game change at all or just get more difficult?

I'm playing Insanity right now..and I think I'm not going to make it lol I'm using soldier and usually using Garrus and Vega because they seem to not die the most.

Playing Insanity with my femShep Soldier now. Took Carnage as my extra power. EDI and Liara are usual squadmates, sometimes I switch it up and use Garrus and Javik. Vega is redundant, Tali is good against Geth and Ash is also redundant for a Soldier IMO.

I played the game only once, with my ME2 imported charcter, and i did it on insanity. In my opinion it was very easy, no challange whatsoever.. can't really remember even one memorable battle, when something interesting was happening combatwise... Which is frankly very diisapointing, considering all the talk about revised combat system, more agressive enemies, who use advanced tactics... nothing even remotly interesting, or challenging. Not even the final london levels. The final segment when you have to defend missiles and wait for the reaper to come close reminded my of Crysis 2 - it was very strange to encounter a level like that in a Mass Effect game.

I had very few deaths (and i wasn't even aiming at clear run or whatever, i don't do that, i play just for fun) - Only one place in game where i died due to combat being difficult - the final area on manae - died twice. other then that, i had no deaths due to combat being difficult - there were only two more places where i would get stuck due to some bugs - like on tuchanka when you have to rescue turian squad - in the final area if you do not move forvward the reapers seme to have infinite respawn (may not infinite, but they respawn like 5-6 times) - but when you do move forward - they game would glitch and they respawn right on top of you, instantly killing you by that (not because they surround, and shoot you, but because they appear out of thin air right on the spot where you are, killing you instantly.)
The turret sections are just broken on insanity, and a really a great pain. The turret does very little damage, has very low rate of fire, and is really difficult to aim - it takes at least two HEADSHOTS to kill a husk.. so when i had that option i ignored the turrets, using guns and powers instead. The bridge on thessia was a nightmare, simply because the balance there on insanity is broken beyond any point of reason. I really think that ME2 insanity was much better and much more entertaining.

Too easy, didn't take nearly as long or as many deaths as ME2 on Insanity did.

I played as Infiltrator and I agree... James was a constant companion for me in combat. His Carnage plus frag grenades were so useful. Then usually had Garrus' Overload on the other side. I had sabotage for dealing with cerberus turrets...

However, I think I messed up a bit when it came to the final mission. I should have had something in my kit to mess with the Banshee's barrier - no point having fire things if the barrier doesn't come down. So in that part of the final mission James was less useful... I probably should have had EDI and Tali - that was they could both have combat drones to distract the Banshee and EDI still has overload. Or maybe have Garrus & EDI - double overload plus still you get a combat drone. Oh well, next playthrough, once I stop my self-embargo from ME3 in protest.

The main thing for Insanity with Infiltrator was getting a decent sniper rifle because the Mantis is not powerful enough. Mostly I used the N7 Valiant and the Indra until I finally got the Widow on Thessia.

Yeah. Especially if you had played through ME2 multiple times and had reached level 50 already. I mean, I hadn't, I was only at Level 31 but I stll found it that only Insanity gave you the rush of a real challenge. :)

Good to remember that ME3 combat gameplay is still fun =]

This. Except the near endgame sequence where they send all the brutes and two banshees and then a harvester at you. That part scared the crap out of me and I can't even tell you why.

Insanity was beneath my expectations. I raged at the first Atlas Jackfight Atlas (that really boils down to the lazy programming of infiite enemy spawns) but I can't recall any other fights I considered to be overly difficult. I had 7 medkits, and got down to 3 at one stage.

Compare this to Mass Effect 1 +2, where in ME1, impossible pirates (regenning reshielding) that I had to escape past. And of course Krogan battlecharges

Me2 had the dead reaper fight, the stranded turian signal and the praeletorians.

Me3 has instakill banshee.

I was instakilling marauders with overload+blackwidow headshots (also two-shotkills on

I think the cover system in Me3 had a lot to do with the game being feeling easier in this way (especially those of us considered to be near-pro in active aim ability) . The battles were noticeably more complex, but there were many options to avoid confrontation - many times got to less than a bar of health, but was able to survive

PS I was sentinel, warp, throw, tech shield + the generic ability maxed

Dude, you can only reach level 30 in ME2, regardless of how many times you play it with the same charecters. Level cap at 30.

My first impressions of Insanity were the annoyance of grenades. Then Overload + Singularity took care of that problem. Then there were the Banshees, but some running, Adrenalin Rush + Overload, Warp and Carnage and we're all good. Now, the fight just before you laze the base on Rannoch with the 3 Geth Primes and their remotes. THAT was no fun.

those were primes? Didn't notice.... geth missions are easy mode for an infiltrator, or when you have Tali in your squad. (which you do, she is always in your squad on Rannoch). sabotage FTW. It works THROUGH shields. (which is lame. is sabotage works through shields, why can't widow one shot shielded enemies, like you could in ME2. For some reason the excess damage to shields doesn't carry over to health. so one shot to take the shields of, and one for health, not on the primes of course though)

was pretty easy. Was engie with black widow + shuriken. Had Liara and tali for everything except the last segment where you have to defend the missile truck thing. brought Liara and Garrus with that.

warp + black widow + AP ammo ftw.
