I don't know whether I've become more skilled with age, but I thought Infiltrator was challenging in ME2 on Insanity. Smaller battlefields and more swarming husks, maybe?

nah, it just took some time to sink in that squad cryo ammo rules. ))

I haven't played the game yet, still waiting for the face import issue to fix lol

But would any of you recommend I up the difficulty when i start? I'm importing a lvl 30 Sentinel with the plan to use Garrus and Ash as my squad mates.

Start on Hardcore.

Normal is for level 1 people.

If you played a lot of ME2 - on insanity, or even, on HARD - you should up the difficulty,.

I have not yet completed the game on insanity, about half way there. My impressions so far though - starting on an imported Character i already had enough boost to feel it's more easy than challenging, so I started on a new character from level 1 and felt it was insane, until about level 30. Looking forward to finishing the other half now.

I can't remember where I read this, maybe some of you might, regarding the increased difficulty in ME3.

Someone from Bioware said the Normal difficulty on ME3 is equivalent to ME2's Veteran, and it scales up from there.

Judging by that statement I expected Insanity on ME3 to be, well Insane, but from what you guys are reporting, that's not the case...

It was a nice challenge. I reloaded a few stages but some were butt-easy because I was lucky guessing where everyone was going to go/spawn. I play cheap sometimes (ex. during a 6 brute battle my FemShep ran around in circles while squaddies worked on them).

Main Insanity problem and opponent is "do everything honorary Mark Meer spacebar" and cover interaction (what is headshot for cover-based game by my opinion). Other than that I cannot remember anything really problematic, just annoying, frustrating or tedious (even more tedious than trying to kill krogan in ME1) like lot of running and acrobatic (reminds me of Gothic 1-2 - those who played should remember).
Played as ME1>ME2 imported Soldier (reset powers back in ME2 before import. Not sure if naming teammates, weapons or skills are considered spoilers.
Narrative is quite hilarious on it's own - if not for heavy melee it could do for some box sim or sort of "Dark Messiah of Might and Magic" in space. Only without magic, swords, kick and Xana. Beat most opponents with melee and concussive shots, or mow everyone down with "tra-ta-ta-ta" from (sub)machine guns just for sake of it.

Currently on Rannoch reaper base on insanity, pulling my hair out because of the three Primes before the whole pointy-laser-thingy.
Vanguard, Tali and Kaidan are in my party and I have energy drain as my bonus power.

Normally I'd kill the primes on by one, but somehow it seems my team is even dumber than usual, or I roll around worse than usual. Otherwise I've been having an easy time in ME3, ME2 was harder on Hardcore than this..

Any suggestions on the 3 primes? They pwn me before I get the heavy weapon. I basically have to solo it because Tali and Kaidan aren't much help..

On my first playthrough i did Insanity as an Adept (same class i used in ME2) and already got my a** kicked more times then i can count. And Cerberus engineers just came at the top of my ''most hated enemy'' list. First time i encountered them.

Total hours it took was over 62.

EDIT: althrough Cerberus Assault Trooper's ''Grenades'' can quickly ****** you off!

Oh man, I decided I didn't want to fight 6 brutes and dodge a reaper on Tuchanka, just ran through the mayhem and sacrificed Liara and Garrus. I think that's the only time I've played it cheap and not take down everything myself.

It feels as if the AI suddenly got dumber, but that might just be my game

Didn't think Sabotage would function on Primes.
Gonna try, thanks

Yes, it is a bit difficult in the beginning, when you don't have any tech powers on your squad. Afterwards (when you get Garrus to be more precise) it gets easier and easier to just blow everything away.

I'm playing it on Insanity right now as an Adept and overall I think it's too easy. I did one of the Tuchanka missions without ever using cover, you just kill everything so fast. Can even do combos on enemies with shield if you have Stasis.

For fun I went back and compared with ME2. Did Jack's recruitment mission. Boy was it hard in comparison. My NG+ character in ME2 has like 250 Barrier / Health, while my NG+ in ME3 has like 850 Barrier / Health. Enemies in ME3 have less protection and just less HP in general so biotics are so OP. Plus, your powers have like 1/3rd or 1/2 the recharge time.

It's not very well balanced IMO. I know there are a few hard spots in the campaign, but still.
Also, in ME2 you can actually run out of ammo. Never happens in ME3, except maybe with a pistol.

I get that some people didn't like that all enemies had protection in ME2, but biotics become too powerful when they don't. I can't remember a single point in ME3 where Husks were ever a problem. I also like the level design and enemy variety in ME2 much better. There are less enemy types in ME3 and they aren't as interesting.

It seems that adepts, infiltrators and engineers need a nerf. *cough*bioware fix iiiit.

Am I the only one who's incredibly bad at running in this game? Now I'm stuck on that stupid reaper on Rannoch because I fail at running and turning around >_>

True.

And having Strategy guide does help in some levels.
