Rewrite no explanation can work. And if someone comes up with one that does he should have just wrote the ending to begin with. And he should rewrite this one.

A continuation.
Leave the ending as it is, but make the Control and Synthesis choices failure choices that lead to indoctrination. Have the destroy choice be the winning choice that makes Shepard break off the indoctrination attempt and contiue the fight with a fitting ending.

 Explanation. I hate retcons as it is. Just provide me some closure (Dragon Age: Origins style epilogue slides will do) and I will be satisfied.

Personally for me, as someone else already said;

Leave the ending exactly as they are. Just add MORE endings. It'd be easier as they wouldn't have to change anything with the game. They could look at their plans, and figure out other possible ways to lead into it.

No Rewrite. I'm always for options expanding off the original though. Easier to implement. Always been my stance. I hope that they fix this fiasco though. Just too much disappointment from Bioware in such a short amount time

Will settle for an explanation/plot hole plug patch, would prefer an indoc theory 4th option dlc that leads to better ending.  That's just my wishful thinking though.  I don't think they should change anything just add to it.

If we get a meaningful epilogue showing how all of the big decisions actually mattered in the end I will be placated. If we get a DLC with additional ending options that are actually different and don't all suck I will be ecstatic and will gladly pay more money for it.

So I guess I really hope we get both.
