Would you prefer a re-write or an explanation?

Rewrite. But it's not going to happen. They ****ed up but they decided they can't make better money by fixing it.. So they will whitewash it and then DA3 will be the new "best game ever" until another batch of people finally give up. Then EA will dump them and move on to the next patch of gaming to burn to the ground.

I want an explanation on why this made it to the final game, and then I want a rewrite.

An explanation and then clarity and additional content that takes us onward from the moment Shepard wakes up.
And then I want to know whether this was done as a way to create an episodic conclusion or just marketing for future DLC.

What is there to explain, exactly? Exploring the Star-Child's poor logic, sweeping generalisations and assertions of fact based on rampant supposition will do very little to make sense of any of it, since it's utter nonsense.
If we are to have a logical end to the story, then a re-write is the only option - fact.

Actually I would like to have the ending I envisioned but will never happen..
I guess I was expecting something on the order of an ME2 ending but more epic in scope.Such as
1.Playing ME3 I envisioned cut scenes where those you didn't pick to go on the take Earth back mission would be fighting the reapers. Jack and her biotic students in the heat of battle. Krogans with Wrex and Grunt leading the Krogan attack. Miranda & Jacob fighting etc. (those that survived ME2 and ME3 at the end).More battle scenes in space showing bridge scenes from all the allied races. Just a lot of major battle footage.
2.I assumed the war assets score would reflect on who lived and died at the end. Cut scene seeing Jack and the students being swarmed by husks because you didn't get item x to improve their powers etc.
3. And a Good WE WON, Ok WE WON (but lost half the planet ,fleet and troops) Bad (They got pushed back and Earth was lost), Very Bad (Everyone lost and cut scenes showing the races being wiped out in the galaxy) kind of endings. Each having Shepard lives/dies/severely wounded. Also I thought I read somewhere that staying true to your ME1 romance had some sort of major impact. Oh well.
All in all I think I was expecting more than what they could deliver. I would like if the ending could be redone for some kind of major epic conclusion that your choices matter and you get some idea what happened to all your teammates. But I kinda of doubt it would any kind of major overahaul of the ending.

You can't explain that ending without pulling stuff out of your butt

Mass Effect was always a series about choices and consequences. That is the very essence of the series.
Bioware, the fans have choose. They want a better ending.
Now it's up to you.

I will wait and see what exactly this "clarify and expand" of the endings consist of. People were clamouring for a Broken Steel type fix to this, and in reality, Broken Steel wasnt changing the endings as much as basically allowing you to continue to play after the final scene kind of like how ME2 was.
As long as the people working on this ditch the "herp derp speculation" and give us something that explains everything and leaves no doubt what happened, then I can live with that. Hopefully they do a decent job on it instead of just cobjobing some crap together and saying "Deal with it." The majority of people who have been asking for new/clarified/etc endings have been respectful and should be treated as such.
