Would you prefer a re-write or an explanation?

I dont want a better explanation about why the best way to save the galaxy was to destroy galactic civilization.
I dont want a better explanation of why green light turns people into robots.
I dont want a better explanation of why my crew, who have always stuck by me, no matter what, decided to ditch me.
You know why I dont want a better explanation?
Because its all ridiculous on the face of it.
You're never going to be able to properly explain why Liara, who even if she didnt romance you, risked her life to recover your body and bring you back to life, decided to just abandon you at the end. Even less so if she romanced you.
You're never going to be able to explain how green light turns people into robots without space magic.
You may be able to explain destruction of the relays, but it seems like a choice made just to make the ending extra dark, and less because it needed to happen.
You may be able to 'explain' it with indoctrination theory, but even if indoctrination was the plan all along, its still less of an explanation and more of a rewrite.

The Catalyst/Citadel invalidates ME1 and the rest of the series.

Explanation would be OK, I guess, but it still leaves the ending as crap and unfinished. Indoctrination theory is just a way to explain a terrible ending that shouldn't have been there to begin with.

I think I'm getting better with these comedic metaphors as time goes on, or at least they're coming to me faster. I used to have to think for a few seconds, now they're just there.

Just adding scenes to the current ending does not satisfy.
But I see how they wouldn't want to undo their work on the current ending.
So an alternative would be for the best. The more quality alternatives are made the better the ending will truly represent the gameplay that made Bioware popular.

Shepard shoots up that control thing...red light everywhere. The Reapers
shut down...then when that big red beam shoots out of the Citadel, and
it hits the relay, instead of blowing it to pieces, it causes a wave of
red energy to sweep out of it in all directions. Every Reaper ship in
the system that's caught in that wave shuts down immediately. Then we
see the beam going from relay to relay across the galaxy, and we can
logically infer that Reapers are being shut down in every system where
there is a relay (while making it explicitly clear that the energy discharge
does NOT destroy the relays it goes through).
Then, instead of cutting to the Normandy crash landing (because that's
just Bwuh?), we can cut to reaction shots of Shepard's friends both on
Earth, and across the galaxy. Some will be cheering, some will be
mourning, some might even be dead. And we have either a voiceover or at
this point, I'll settle for just text boxes giving us the fate of not
only the various characters, but the various factions and civilizations
that we've interacted with over the course of three games.
Not ideal, but something like this would've given me a much better sense of closure, and certainly wouldn't have annoyed me as much. It would also not make me feel like I wasted so much time and energy investing into the story and the characters.

Adding new endings while expanding/explaining the old ones would also be good. Presuming the new ones are actually good, and nothing like the current ones. This would make everyone happy with the exception of those who deny us our endings out of spite.

An explanation would ride heavily on how they go about explaining it and that, in its own right, could be a whole new ending right there.
Fleshing it out with an explanation, perhaps new scenes to clear up the confusion during the events shown at the end (like Joker actually picking people up, that sort of thing), and add an epilogue reflecting our choices throughout the series.
All I know is that, above all else, I want to an explanation of the events shown, why they break what was established as concrete Mass Effect universe facts, and how any of my choices mattered at the end of the battle with the Reapers.
Be that new endings, more choices at the end, explanations for the current endings, new cinematic moments, and/or a Dragon Age: Origins epilogue. I just want to know that what they said, about my choices reflecting my ending, is going to be present.
As it stands now, my roommate's game was completely different from my own. We got the exact same ending. Down to the color and sudden breath.
