In seriousness, how did people not understand that Child's Play is a charity?  How could they have the gall to ask for their money back?  This boggles my mind.  I donated with full knowledge of what I was doing, and to me it was blatantly obvious.  The sheer fact that we raised all that money for charity is an enormous success, regardless of ME3.

they should indeed be ashamed of themselves, as for the movement, i hope you are not "no longer part" of the movement simply because of a few mindless selfish individuals and trolls?  or is there another reason? 

+ with respect this should of been posted on the facebook not on these forums. not only does it invite trolls to bash us and troll us but it also invites the "regular" media people to bash once again even if it is only a minor few individuals out of a large group they will still use this to insult and bash us for whatever reasons they can find and paint us as something we are not, so please think before posting next time (no offence).

A high amount asked for a refund. if you actually read the statement PA/CP put out, you would know this.

From someone who worked in the payment processing business, high amount doesn't really mean that much in terms of volume.  If you normally get 1 chargeback a year then you get 5 in a week, that is a high amount.  Charities are considered low risk of chargeback, though taking fund online is higher risk, most people don't steal credit cards to give the money away.  It would take very little activity to raise alarms, so to speak, from a payment processing kind of term.

Of course you'll get uninformed people who think that by giving $10 to charity, they get a different ending but that was not the reason for the charity, it was never created with that purpose in mind.

I sincerely hope that Penny Arcade is exaggerating about the number of demanded refunds being high.

If not then I have lost faith in a lot of things today.

i dont think thats what he said for a start, you intentionally twisted that statement and you know it, and he is right to an extent they never gave us any figures on how many asked for there money back, they could be exadurating and there statement does directly attack RME  in a certain light in quite a few places. 

nobody who is a true part of the Retake mass effect movement was using anybody, indirectly yes it did maybe pull somethings in our favour but INDIRECTLY just like every other person, company or other forum of buisness that has donated to charity, but we all did it to turn a negative into a positive, as we wanted to channel our anger and frustration into something that is larger than ourselves and this comes in the form of charity for some. 

those that decided they wanted there money back shouldnt be a part of this movement, same goes for people who attack the devs or write hate mail to people. I hope they keep away from this movement and the forums and those of you who were donating for "a better ending" then you should be ashamed yourselves and look up the definitions of "selfless" and "charity".

(sorry for the long winded post, just wanted to get it out of my system)
