Don't let this get to you, guys. It's just a smear campaign. A small hurdle like this never bothered Kirrahe.

Just shrug it off and move along.

For anyone who doesn’t see what’s going on in this thread I have the real ending to ME3 for sale. Hint? No real evidence being used to paint the whole “I don’t like the ending to ME3” community in a very negative light. Using a charity to further your goal and then asking for a refund. YOU MONSTERS!!!  Why did all the other threads that talked about PA dropping the movement get closed while this one stayed up? Looks like it’s doing it’s job to me. (DPR)

Can't say I'm even suprised...

Part 1:
-50k people voted on a poll that they don't like the endings. We are a MAJORITY'
-Well, the sampling method is wrong, you can't deduct this for a 2 million userbase.
-But the numbers are high, we are majority, you are an idiot and go away troll.

Part 2:
-A high number of people requested refund from CP
-You don't know **** OP, that's clearly a small minority, just a few people, you are an idiot and a troll.

Part1a:
-Hi, I'm random BW employee talking about PR stuff.
-You should die, I will burn your yard with a flamethrower, you will pay for the sins of one storywriter, all BW is the devil!

Part2a:
-How can you brand the whole movement because a few people apparently asked for refunds?

Part1b:
-Random talk about MP content
-But the ending sucked
-Please take it to the story/game forum
-Gaaaah, this is the freedom of expression, you will die you stupid troll

Part2b:
-Info about CP refunds, possibility for a few guys with actual moral standards to make reparations based on this.
-This is clearly off topic, I hope you die, you are trolling us and lying.

If I ever would like to write an essay on hypocrisy, the Retake movement would be the main hero...

Yes because these people who donated, obviously wanted to help children in need... yep, there was no way they had any another goal in their mind, nope, none at all, it was JUST to help children.....

This is the reason why I did not do it, it's hypocrisy, if I want to donate to children I will do it without get the focus of the donation on another matter, I do it because I want to help children, and nothing else.

Celebrities that donates anonymously I respect, but those who have to make a press conference announcing the have donate $$$ to organization xxx are a bunch of self loving idiots, and nothing more.

And how were these kids: "applyied for purpose", "availed of", "conducted toward", "happened to be the means for"? The last one goes for "using the Child's Play" for the goal, but no the kids. They were helped with the money donated (at least I hope so) in the end. No matter what was intended.

Wait a minute. So there has been a huge thread extrapolating hidden meanings from press releases and CM statements as proof, but when a a statement is made outright by someone else it's only alleged?

they dont want to admit there wrong because they know the reason behind why the chairty was started inthe first place and that was for there own selfish greed

personally it is insulting to me as a person to see this

Who's "there"?  I'm only one person and speak for nobody but myself.  And as such, I haven't been extrapolating any hidden meanings from press releases and view them with as much scepticism.

In this case, I find the timing a bit suspect: it doesn't seem like an especially good idea to release this sort of information at a time when tempers are already rather frayed.  If it wasn't done for any sort of underhanded reason, it was a bad call.

Interesting, the entire hooha is being overblown as Forbes checked with the actual Child's Play charity.
http://social.biowar.../index/10506418

That's.. actually not what this is about. This is about people demanding their money back; not Child's Play stopping the charity drive.

Of which nothing is mentioned in the email reply which is by itself interesting as a problem would not be placed as "some negative feedback".

Child’s Play representative Jamie Dillion:
It’s true that we received some negative feedback about the RTM fundraiser, but the real issue that it brought to light was our policy surrounding attaching other, unrelated causes to child’s play. What RTM was doing was very cool and an amazing show what an active community can do, but we were concerned about the slippery slope. For instance, if someone were to create a “support (insert cause X) by donating to child’s play,” you can see how this could cause issues for us.

As for the link noted in the first post, no numbers are given nor any actual data. As most children will notice, "many", "several", "a lot", etc have no actual meaning as it is subjective. "Many" for you might be 3, but "many" for me might be a hundred.

they were used dude. your group took a situation like sick children built a chairty and tried to exstort bioware to make you an ending. you thought if you used a chairty to get what you want itll make you look good but it flopped in your face

is it really that hard for you to understand because this is the 10th time i have stated this

Retake need to accept that they cannot regulate their membership any more than anonymous does. For better or worse a percentage of the people who are part of retake are scumbags. I would wager it is a similar percentage to a random population sample.

At the same time, I find it just as disturbing and despicable that people in said movement are now turning on Penny Arcade. Conspiracies are already starting to flow, hate topics already starting to appear, names already starting to be called, referring to them as 'bald' and 'pig like' for example.

This juvenile attitude is going to smear your efforts in the long run just as much as the people demanding charity refunds.

k now thats annoyed me......... your directly attacking A TON of people now who you cannot for any reason know every single one of those persons intentions behind donating. you expect hat with around about 50,000 odd people there is not going to be a small group of morons...... you get this with every movement, those the state you made would work in terms of applying pressure to bioware through forum use and other forms, charity however isnt a fair arguement as A LOT OF US did it for a positive reason, to turn a negative into a positive, even if we dont get anything out of this movement atleast someone who deservers it will, the fact that you use that definition in order to slam the entire movement simply because of a few individuals acting like childish morons is appauling and insulting.

nobody who is truely behind the retake mass effect movement would ask for there money back or do anything to jepordise anything for the movement or the people we have helped.

so dont spout your hollier than thou crap down our throats simply because a "group" of indivduals have been acting like jerks.

What's done is done. Those who didn't donate, that is fair enough, you had your reasons. Those who did donate, you too had your reasons. $80,000 was donated. Regardless of your reasons for donating, that $80,000 is going to do some good in the world.

$80,000, people. That is one helluva achievement regardless of reasons. We should be proud.

Hold the line.
