Note how nobody in those threads is saying they should get their money back or thought they were paying for a new ME3 ending. One was just a repost of PA's statement, the other was a guy irritated that they shut it down and not getting the point (but also not asking for his money back or thinking he's paying for a new ME3 ending).

I can't imagine its that many, like seriously. Everyone agrees people asking for refunds from a charity is bad, no one here has posted about asking for a refund from a charity, by a large I'm going to guess its was a very very small amount of people. Lets move on.

Well when you raise 80k there's bound to be a couple of spoiled sports. And people who thought they were actually donating money to get BW to make their new enidng (ala Kickstart). Sad, but probably is worse for the charity than us.

Wow, if this is true it makes me sad. I read the the faq on childs play and it clearly states the donation is straight to them and has no impact on wether or not ME 3 gets new endings. I wish I wasnt broke (my last paycheck pulled a hudini) or I would have donated.

It's called divide and conquer. There's no way to know if people really asked for refunds, it's also impossible to determine why people donated in the first place.

It's better to stay calm and think with a clear head. There's no reason to leave.

This pretty much sums up why the whole concept of drawing attention to the situation with a charity drive was great in that it raises money for sick kids, but terrible for every other possible reason.

No way to know if they asked for refunds.... Penny arcade, who runs childs play reported on it.  Unless they are to be implicated in a conspiracy you have to accept it happened.

Don't let a couple of idiots (on which we've got no hard evidence available) break what otherwise was a solid effort. Unthinking reactions is probably what caused such an incident to occur in the first place.  Either way, they are not what caused the Chipin effort to wind down. CP did not want to be seen as taking sides or sponsoring any one view.

That's not what I meant. They said Paypal told them a substantial amount of people asked for refunds. That means nothing, he could be telling the truth, he could be exagerating.

This is in addition to readers who simply couldn’t understand how this was connected to Child’s Play’s mission. We were dealing with a lot of very confused people, more every day, and that told us we had a problem.

That, does not sound like a minority.

I'm pretty sure the co-founder of Child's Play wouldn't exagerate about this. This is pretty serious, especially when they say Paypal told them a large amount of people were demanding refunds.
