Hello everyone,
I am facing problems with repeated crashes. The game keeps crashing when I try to access Illium areas beyond the initial lobby (when you turn left instead of going up to administration)
This happened after I received the hacking quest from Liara.
My PC's specs are as follows:-
OS: Windows 7 64x
Processor: Intel i7 980
RAM: 24 GB
GPU: AMD HD Radeon 6990
I am running the game on patch 1.02 and DLCs Shadow Broker and Arrival. I also have the other free DLC stuff like the Cerberus Armor, Blood Dragon armor, Zaeed, Crash Site, Arc Project and Firewalker.
I'll go and try to cycle through my squad members or do other missions and come back to see if things are still going nuts.
Crashing on Illium over and over and over

I get the same issue as you for this, after installing the Lair of the Shadow Broker (prior to this, ilium worked fine), and usually during the transition under Liara's offices to the dock, but sometimes also just outside this in the promenade area, near enough the same spot on the map though.
One temporary workaround is to disable the dynamic shadows, and walk (press Left Ctrl) to walk through the area to get past it. After you're through the tunnel, you can enable the dynamic shadows, and then go past here, however for me, I need to do this every single time, or it crashes. I don't know of a permanent fix at this time.
I'm on Win 7 64, Geforce GTX 285 (SLI), 12Gb RAM, Intel i7.
Steam version of ME2.

I had this same issue. I fixed it by accepting the LotSB mission (which clears the 'hack terminals' mission). This let me travel through Illium as normal.

Late answer, but... try this:
In-game, before it crashes, go to the options/settings screen and Graphics settings. Turn the Dynamic Shadowing OFF. It solved the problem for me, at least.
