Because I can be pretty dense sometimes (I'm trying to fix it but it's slow going) I figured I'd ask others before I actually made the purchase.  I'm planning on getting the Dragon Age Ultimate Edition for my laptop and I'm not sure if it'll work.  Here's what I have for the specs: http://i188.photobuc...child/specs.png

" Your search - http://i188.photobuc...child/specs.png - did not match any documents. "

Windows XP Minimum Specifications
OS: Windows XP with SP3
CPU: Intel Core 2 Single (or equivalent) running at 1.6Ghz or greater
AMD 64 (or equivalent) running at 2.0Ghz or greater
RAM: 1 GB or more
DVD ROM (Physical copy)
20 GB HD space
Video Card: ATI Radeon X850 256MB or greater (this is clearly wrong)
NVIDIA GeForce "6600 GT" 128MB or greater (and this one is more wrong)

(Note: IMO, the practical choices for the two video cards above should be the Radeon X800 Pro, and the Geforce 6800 GS, at least, for small textures - it will take a Radeon X1650 XT (or X1800 GTO, same thing, almost) for medium or better textures)

INTEL'S GARBAGE (Graphics Chip) IS NOT SUPPORTED

Intel Graphics are very poor and you will not get an enjoyable experience.

Additionally, laptops are no longer produced with an option to upgrade the video solution they were sold with.

P. S. To Fred: I don't see any difference between your link and the OP's URL (which I'd copied and pasted).  Was the Photobucket just having a moment of indigestion or something, I wonder?

The link is the same. Photobucket just doesn't like you.

Hmm I'm not very concerned about top notch graphics though it would be nice if they were at least average. I'm mostly concerned that it will run. Worse comes to worst I'll just play it normally and wait till later to do anything special. I mean I really want to play it again, I love the story and I love well... everything about it lol. As I said I don't have an xbox anymore so my choices are pretty limited in this area now.

"Very Poor" is being kind. Intel cannot get anywhere CLOSE to an "average" graphics solution, and they do not care to do so.

Hmm... I may try and see if I can borrow it from someone and see if it works at all first... if I can find someone who has Dragon Age for PC :/

Wise choice.

You might be able to download the DAII demo and see how well it runs.  Expect DA:O Ultimate to run *worse* than DAII.

With an Intel graphics card, you may not even be able to launch the game.  Many users with those specs get a "Supported Graphics Card Not Found" error.

DAII has lower requirements than DA:O? o.o

"Officially", no.  However, at the low end, it's somewhat better optimized graphically, allowing cheap wannabe video trinkets to pretend to run a little, and the Demo is still more generous than that.  .

Hmm I will attempt this, see if it will run at all, where can I get the demo again?

You can ask that in the Demo forum, here:

Got a hold of the demo and tried it out (had to use the dll fix though to make it work).

The graphics themselves were amazing on this, though the gameplay and even the cutscenes were a little choppy (only barely though, just enough to know it wasn't perfect).

So does this tell me that I can look forward to horrible laggy gameplay on DA:UE? Or will it run just fine? I'm thinking it will run alright except for major battles or something. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Along the plan to borrow the PC disc to test it I haven't made any progress, it seems most of my friends got it for a console if they got it at all.

That setup will run terribly, if at all. I would strongly recommend trying for an alternative platform or a different game.

Hmm would how the Character Creator runs be any way to gauge how my computer will handle it?

Because so far it's running great.  I know my old computer wouldn't even handle the Character Creator at all lol.

No, not at all.
