Kai Leng is a joke. His greatest weakness is a rifle butt to the face. You'll have to stop beating him eventually so he can recharge and summon reinforcements. This works with any class on any difficulty. I did it with an adept on insane.

Only problem with this method is, he finishes recharge much faster because his shield damage is minimal. Some classes can clear his reinforcements very fast, but some may require more time. For classes that needs more time to deal with his reinforcement, it is better to go for more prudent methods.

Also, tis best to melee him when his back is against the corner so that he does not teleport behind you. Helps also if you order your squad to attack while you bog him down.

If you are a soldier, I recommend Disruptor ammo on him and grenade when his reinforcements arrive. That is a safer method.

Seriously kai leng? This guy was so easy, Marauder Shields however is another story.

He's obviously gonna want to stay close. Just make sure you keep cover between you so ya don't get instagibbed. Aside from that, make sure you drop his buddies as soon as they come in. Adrenaline Rush and Frag grenades should really help with that. Use your teammates more as distractions, since they're expendable, but revive them one Leng gets away from them so they can die again

I've only played on the lowest difficulty up to now, but I think a stasis bubble would be invaluable on that fight, whether from Liara or Shepard's bonus power.

When I do get around to playing for that Insanity achievement, I'll probably want to make sure I have it.

Just go straight up and punch him, works np on insanity as he can't do anything if your punches knock him back every time. Other than that: kill the adds asap.

hey guys just wondering if anyone can help me n give me sometips with the last fight with kai lang on insanity? im having a lot of trouble im a lvl 60 soldier and i keep dying the rest of the game was fairly difficult but it was nothing i couldnt handle with a lot of patience and strategy. ive come so far n now this is making me give up all together. :(

any kind of help would be greatly appreciated

cheers :D

I started to read the thread, but there was a lot of random stuff so I will just give you a perspective from someone who actually did that fight as a Level 60 Soldier on Insanity.  Seeing "Marauder Shields" mentioned is just irritating, as that is easier than this fight, which is also not bad with the right approach.

First, what evolutions did you take for Adrenaline Rush?  I find Hardening and then the "Fire one power while active" the best for general usage.

Evolve CS so that it is powered.

Evolve Disruptor Ammo to maximum damage.  This helps with the with the shields and barriers, as well as their gating if you use a high damage weapon.

When I did this mission I also had maxed Energy Drain.  Interestingly, you don't need to use it, but you can if you want.  It will help, but if you want a pure class you can beat this fight without it.

As for weapons, I took Black Widow X and Revenant X.  Black Widow with concentration mod and extended barrel, and Revi with AR Piercing and Stability (because of how I use it for general missions, not for this fight...).  Equip both with Disruptor Ammo.  Revenant works very well on this fight.  Black Widow is also good if you are a good shot, but is more difficult to use on the Phantoms and Leng.

Squad was Garrus and EDI.  Both should have maxed Overload.  As for  the evolution, it is up to you.  I like at least one chain in there, as well as Neural Shock (because of the rest of the game).  Have them spam Overload at anything with shields or barriers, or even unshielded organics.

Kill his minions effeciently and then drop his shields.  On the Phantom wave you will probably end up killing one Phantom and then Leng before taking out the remaining Phantom.  It just depends.

As I said above, you can do this without using EDrain with the powers and weapons above.  You might end up using some medigel though.  Just make sure to get out of Leng's way if he approaches.

Eh I just sniped him on insanity.

Clear the adds, then focus fire on KL

Thought it'd be a harder fight actually.

M-37 Falcon = Win for this fight.

I found the easiest way to defeat him was to just stay far away from him during most of the fight until he smashes the ground and the phantoms drop in.

-If he gets close, melee him.

-For my primary weapon I used the M-37 Falcon which makes extremely short work of the Cerberus ground troops, including the phantoms

-When you finally are able to attack to kill him, the Falcon did the job so quickly I was shocked the battle was already over. It was a pitifully short fight for me.

Revenant + AT Raider shotgun with Soldier, had Liara and Tali as Squadmates. I actually did it so fast that I didn't realise I was on the last segment(4th floor explosion).

I took all headshot + Weapon damage armor, and all weapon damage or power recharge upgrades from glyph. I literally mowed through the game with my import Shepard. Before I got the Revenant I used the Phaestorm. Bonus power was Carnage.

ME3 combat was a joke. I think ME2 did it right with the swarms of hucks and geth trooper missions. And also the missions were more CQB.

How did you keep the hanger bay from being vented with that squad?  You have to take EDI on the Cerberus HQ mission :)

I had Liara and EDI with me, I just rushed him and used melee, if my memory is right, he will strike you but you won't take much (if any damamge), and he won't shoot you since you are near.

When the mobs show up, I used powers as soon as I could see the mobs health bar when they first appear from the ceiling (Concussive Shots, Singularity, Stasis, and stuff). By the time the mob landed on the ground, more then half of them were dead.

Repeat until you win. Liaras Statis is excellent especially against the Nemesis and Phantoms.

But yea, I mostly run after Kai and used melee.

Played it as Soldier on Insanity.

I was a soldier with liara along. The first thing I did whenever a group of mooks came is was singularity bomb them then mop up with frags. I probably had a bad overall set of weapons (Phaeston and Valiant) and was on my initial playthrough. The grenades and cover system killed me more times than he did, since he is such a big ****ing coward. I would recommend a partial area overload (either first damage evolution + final damage and arc evolution or first arc evolution + double damage to shields/barriers so you have some decent CC and still hit hard. Frags here are your friends, I went with AP the first time and it didn't help too much, but when they are built for max damage, it doesn't really matter.

I managed to knock him flat in a phew rounds just by randomly shooting him keeping the fire power on him while hiding, guess you could say it was a hit and run

Bring Liara. Her stasis will freeze all the adds, giving you time to run around and nuke them down. If you're a soldier it also helps to have Garrus/Kaidan/EDI for their overload on barriers and shields.

I played ME3 on Insanity first time (ArcaneHoplite). I was lazy though, as I couldn't be ar5ed upgrading my guns. I died the first few times but kept telling myself there is always a path through. I just kept cracking Kai Lang with her arm and got through in the end. Died about three times I think.

Just did this on my soldier shep.

It was a little tough with no powers to spam but very fun. The best part was having Garrus with widow V + the two sniper damage mods IV shoot him at his last phase for what looked like 80% of his health.

There's already a current thread on this: http://social.biowar.../index/14633419

Why did you feel the need to necro a 7 month old one?
