Just finished my insanity adept playthrough, and since there are no decent guides up on the fourms that i know of (im looking at you gatsby) i wanna know what ur fav class is on any difficulty and why. Im about to play a CQC Infiltrator to see if that works as well as i think it could. But what class should i play next? (ive played and finished every class on insanity on me2 so difficulty isnt too much of an issue).

1) Black Widow Infiltrator

- The Wayne Gretzky* of Mass Effect. Always a few steps ahead of everyone else.
- You can do anything you want on the battlefield.
- Black Widow is fun to use and really powerful at all ranges (even in CQC).
- AP Ammo bonus power.
Playstyle: Cloak + Black Widow barrage. :bandit:

2) Graal Vangard

- The Mario Lemieux* of Mass Effect. You know what he's gonna do, but you can't stop him anyway.
- Ignored Nova, because it makes the game ridiculously easy and Nova spam is not fun for me.
- I would have liked to use Claymore but it is simply not a good choice for Vanguard. So Graal it is.
- Barrier bonus power.
Playstyle: Charge + 12 spikes in the face.

I never expected Infiltrator to become my favourite class over Vanguard (which is by far my most favourite class in ME2), but sniping with the Black Widow is super fun.

*I am a huge hockey fan. :D

Caster Sentinel was my favorite in ME2 - I loved being able to handle any defense. But now I am leaning towards Adept or Engineer due to the nice buffs those classes got.

On Single Player it is Adept. Cluster bomb, shockwave, barrier and heavy melee makes game fun (always playing on Normal or Casual difficulty).

On Multiplayer it is Human Engineer because of their versality.

hm...

the adept for me - most other classes are either to support-oriented or they do not have the power to stop groups of charging enemies dead in their tracks (even more you can "combine" two biotic-powers like say you have Liara use singularity and you use push afterwards (or something else) and "boom" :)

so yeah, i almost only play adept (tried some other classes, but i never was satisfied with those - i hate charging into the fray and well tech sucks IMHO....soldier is boring (every grunt can shoot stuff IMHO) so yeah, biotics FTW :)

greetings LAX
ps: I even more like the Adept because he is sort of an outsider (codex says many humans see human biotics as freaks etc.) and i can sort of relate to that (i was an outsider at school myself because of my "strange" and "boring" hobbies...what hobbies you ask? - Reading (i started reading thick science fiction volumes (400 pages and more) at eight), playing the computer, listening to classical music (instead of rap/hip-hop or the likes) etc....so yeah, i know how it is to feel left out...and in hindsight, i am no longer troubled by it, it's more like i feel sorry for all those punks i had to endure back then

Unfortunately, it's rather pointless to make a guide for this game imo. Unlike ME2 - where you had to learn to make the most out of your powers, weapons and squadmates - ME3 is basically a braindeath "press a button and something awesome happens" fest :(

I, like you, played Adept and got bored rather quickly (something I didn't believe possible considering how much I loved the class in ME2). When you have Pull, Throw and Warp you're done. All other powers are weaker substitutes of those three. I don't think people need advice when everything you do results in the exact same (boom) thing. The only thing worth mentioning on the boards are niche builds which aren't very effective but fun to try out.

It's always been adept and vanguard for me. Biotic combos and detonations never get old.

My ME1&ME2 were all Soldier/Infiltrator because I love my sniper rifle. There isn't any point of me playing any other classes now since I primarily...just use a sniper rifle.

The Infiltrator builds and the Vanguard for me.

With the Infiltrator, the cloaked sniping method never gets old. Then there's the heavily shielded, melee + geth shotgun infiltrator, which is a whole different kind of fun.

Love the Graal Vanguard too. Unstoppable. Never use nova though.

I think you could play an alterative style, using Liara and Javik we can double singularity and just let them sit and Dark channel/warp or Stasis or Singularity/Warp has worked really well for me I almost never detonate my own singularity and only use lvl 1 pull for shields.  I've had some problems with Atlas mechs strippiong shields but was just told that I could use dark channel and denonate with warp so I'm going to reload a difficult section with a mech, the Grissom Academy and try out Dark Channel/Warp.  For me the cooldowns are way too low in this game, I wish insanity would double cooldown periods I think it would make the game fair.

I haven't played on higher difficulties but Infiltrator. The cloaking is a godsend especially when Banshees show up. Sentinel was the only other class I ever felt comfortable with in ME2 but after a few levels in ME3 I restarted that playthrough and switched to vanguard. Which is more fun, but I definitely agree with the above comment about how there's not as much strategy involved. I enjoy the faster pace but I also really miss the constant tinkering with powers and squad mates in ME2.

Adept.

In ME2 I only found this class genuinely fun on Veteren or below, as anything above that meant the class had to be played much s l o w e r than it really was. Its still my fave class but it just didn't work well what with Singularity being your only power option against defences.

In ME3 the Adept resembles how Jack fights - i.e. a telekinetic bulldozer.

And its awesome. I like to think Adept Shep spent ME2 just recovering from being dead and had a headache the majority of the time - a headache that has now cleared up. :D

I think I will enjoy my new Soldier in ME3... the biotic classes are wasting my awesome collection of guns.

My favorite after ME2 will always be Vanguard - because of their mobility.

I've always loved the sentinel, and ME3 is no exception. tech armor has a nasty drawback now, but that is easily offset with light weapons, and in ng+ i right now i have the mattock, paladin and an locust and still have +200% CD bonus. I bring liara with me so she can singularity and i detonate with warp, otherwise Shepard just stalls armies with overload.

Adept is definitely the most fun to me. There is just something so satisfying about biotic combos. The sounds, watching enemies fly all over the place, its just cool. Infiltrator is probably the most powerful though. Cloak is just OP.

Infiltrator with Black Widow X and Wraith X.

Pure domination at every range.

I completed insanity today, and I died maybe 6 times in the entire campaign. I completed the entire end sequence from the Cerberus Base right up until the credits without dying, and this was only my second playthrough. The infiltrator just decimates everything if you use it right.

I knew someone had to say engi eventually. My fav class in me2 was a dominate engineer on insanity. I decided to go with black widow and dicsiple for domination at any range. Maybe i just havent used it enough, but as powerful as the graal is is find it much harder to hit moving targets. it might just be me, but the black widow seriously kicks ass.

Engineer. It just feels so good to use. Favourite class back in ME2 and it just got improved even more in 3. I especially like the tech combo of cryo blast + incinerate.

Engineer, easily, because I'm a M-F-ng 1 Person Squad.

And as the collector's edition guide so eloquently puts it: "There are few things as impressive as walking into battle while a turret scorches foes up close, a combat drone unleashes rockets from afar, and an unsuspecting geth turns on its own squad to fight for you."

PS: A power-spamming Engineer is also incredibly fun because they actually have some variety to their combos (as well as their combos' effects), unlike some of the more boring power-spamming classes, whose names I shall not mentionADEPT.
