Had immense amounts of fun with a Black Widow Infiltrator, nothing quite as satisfying as nailing that headshot while cloaked and watching whatever was on the receiving end go down

Also fun was Adept, double pull became one of my favourite powers

Love the Sentinel in ME2 and 3, you get a power for every situation and to top it off the holo-armor looks amazing

In ME1 it was the Infiltrator, but I used to play him as a Pistol marksman and that does not translate well into 2 and 3

I finished an adept insanity playthrough which carried the raptor sniper which was light, accurate, and felt like a hybrid assault rifle. Near the end I also carried a Paladin and a tempest machine gun. my recharge was 196% so still pretty great. Even with three guns, I rarely used them. Rather I just detonated biotic combos with Liara and Kaiden. Not to mention spamming pull then throw let's you get though most enemies.

Black Widow infiltrator and Vangaurd are the other classes I played as. Nothing really beats cloaking, headshot, cloaking, headshot

For SP, jack-of-all-trades sentinel in both ME2 and ME3.
For MP, I primarily use an asari adept and sometimes I dabble with a quarian infiltrator because, well, the view is nice (jk).

i used to love the sentinels in me1 and 2 i mostly played as 1, but in me3 i decided to try a vanguard and wow its amazing, im still getting used to some of her biotic moves, but her meelee is just omg wow :)

reason for loving vanguard: she can get up close to enemies and knock them out without taking to much damage, and her weapons are really good too for ranged attacks

Sentinel, durable and I can spam powers. Have Liara use singularity, then I fire my double throw this caused a biotic explosion that hits two people.

ME1: Vanguard, Infiltrator
ME2: Vanguard, Infiltrator (only with Energy Drain), Engineer
ME3: Same as ME2 with Adept

My favourite throughout the whole series is torn between Vanguard and Infiltrator because well the Vanguard is just the Vanguard and the Infiltrator is quite versatile when equipped with the GPS and Energy Drain (acts like a powerful and durable Engineer)

ME1: Vanguard
ME2: Adept
ME3:.... Adept again.

ME1 Vanguard was a much more flexible class than the berzerker thing it turned into in the later games. Seemed to be much more orientated to allowing the player to use guns and biotics (which I thought was great) rather than trying to headbutt everything in the later games (which wasn't able to hold my attention for the duration of the games - fun to begin with but just got boring after a while).

ME2's Adept felt like the gameplay designers were trying to prove some kind of point about biotics, I didn't feel like I could play it in any fun way on difficulties above Veteran. Singularity on target, shoot for a bit, warp, move onto next - much like the ME2 Vanguard, fun to begin with, boring after a few hours. But on those lower difficulties, it felt like a proper telekinetic, loved it.

I think what I like about the ME3 Adept is that it actually felt like it had been designed with the same mindset of the other classes. The way it played seemed much more consistent over the different difficulty levels. In many ways it seemed to combine everything I liked about the ME1 Vanguard and ME2 Adept into a class that wasn't also a difficulty level choice. Awesome class to play :D

ME1: Bastion Sentinel (Shotgun)
Balanced gameplay between Tech and Biotics made the boring ME gameplay more interesting longer. I got the Shotgun for the burst damage. Bastion Stasis+Carnage+Shotgun shot.

ME2: Reave Engineer (Shotgun)
So fun to play. On the fly use of Reave to push forward aggressivly along with well placed Drones. I also had Tech skills for Geth and other circumstances. I did some videos here

ME3: Stasis Sentinel (Shotgun)
I run around with the GPS+Paladin combo using Liara, Kaidan and Javik mainly. I can detonate stuff constantly. GPS and Paladin at X weight about 185% I believe. Bonus power I'm kind of torn on. I like Stasis for RP reasons (it has been my go to power in ME1 and 2). I like Stasis with the 45% bonus power buff you can cast them for free quite often.

ME1 - Infiltrator
ME2 - Infiltrator
ME3 - Engineer

The improvements made to the Engineer in ME3 made it my favorite class, otherwise it would have been the Infiltrator again.

ME1: Adept. I could solo a Geth Colossus/Armature.
ME2: Adept. Still good with squadmate help.
ME3: Infiltrator.

ME1: Specialized as a Bastion, I could easily lock down the entire battlefield with my Singularity, Lift and Stasis powers. 1-on-1 I could perma-lock Saren mid-air.

ME2: The shared cooldown hurt, but the explosions helped a lot. Had to rely on squadmates with shield- and armor-stripping powers to be effective on higher levels.

ME3: Maxed Operative + Cloak + Black Widow X + Concentration Mod V = murder. Even on Insanity I can cloak and fire 2 shots that rip enemies to pieces. Only Banshees and massive hordes of enemies can stop me (I blame the grenades they throw).

I don't think I even realised Stasis was a bonus power in ME3... did I miss the requiremesnts or something? Damn, why didn't I take this on my Sentinel? Stupid Defense Drone.

I'm not sure what my favourite class is but I've mostly played Sentinel. I like how I can pretty much do everything, though other classes have the luxury of more in-depth powers rather than the basic throw, warp, overload, cryo of sentinel.

I missed it on my 1st playthrough as well, you get it from Liara, just keep talking to her whenever you can and I think after Thessia and supporting her you receive it.

OT: Infiltrator with Javelin would be my pick. The Black Widow may be stronger but I prefer the feel and utility of the Jav. Adept as well, though it can get boring at times.

Soldier and infiltrator through the first two games. In ME3 engineer seems to be the only unique feeling class left.

Soldier. Mainly because of it's main focus is weapons.

I've only finished one playthrough, but I've gotten pretty far in as Adept(my one full game), Sentinel, Infiltrator and Vanguard.
I just suck as a Vanguard. I can't pull it off.
Sentinel is fine, but the Tech Armor nerf really threw me off. Being able to handle every enemy type is a big plus, mostly making up for Tech Armor being near useless.
Infiltrator is nice, but it took me a while to learn Warp Ammo is way better than Cryo Ammo and Disruptor Ammo. I can basically negate most shields/barriers with Warp Ammo. It's nuts on the Black Widow/Widow.
Adept is a lot of fun. I maxed out detonation damage and found myself laughing every time a huge detonation took out a group of enemies, which was often since I used Stasis Bubble.
Soldier has always seemed boring to me, what with it being a straight-up soldier-class in a game with Jedi powers and the ability to control machines and the elements.
The Engineer is my next class. Got a Renegon FemShep waiting in the wings.

Just finished my insanity adept playthrough, and since there are no decent guides up on the fourms that i know of (im looking at you gatsby) i wanna know what ur fav class is on any difficulty and why. Im about to play a CQC Infiltrator to see if that works as well as i think it could. But what class should i play next? (ive played and finished every class on insanity on me2 so difficulty isnt too much of an issue).

Unfortunately, it's rather pointless to make a guide for this game imo. Unlike ME2 - where you had to learn to make the most out of your powers, weapons and squadmates - ME3 is basically a braindeath "press a button and something awesome happens" fest :(

I, like you, played Adept and got bored rather quickly (something I didn't believe possible considering how much I loved the class in ME2). When you have Pull, Throw and Warp you're done. All other powers are weaker substitutes of those three. I don't think people need advice when everything you do results in the exact same (boom) thing. The only thing worth mentioning on the boards are niche builds which aren't very effective but fun to try out.

I think you could play an alterative style, using Liara and Javik we can double singularity and just let them sit and Dark channel/warp or Stasis or Singularity/Warp has worked really well for me I almost never detonate my own singularity and only use lvl 1 pull for shields.  I've had some problems with Atlas mechs strippiong shields but was just told that I could use dark channel and denonate with warp so I'm going to reload a difficult section with a mech, the Grissom Academy and try out Dark Channel/Warp.  For me the cooldowns are way too low in this game, I wish insanity would double cooldown periods I think it would make the game fair.

Instead of changing the cooldowns, they should just change the Biotic Explosion damage or give Insanity enemies more HP. I like the option of playing a class that is not so gun based like ME2.

Sentinel. Variety and Contingency
Give a Sentinel a sniper rifle and he becomes a wicked force at any range. There's just this way you can dance across the battlefield with one mixing up guns powers and melee that is just so much fun. Plus I'm not restricted on my squad selection as I can make up for any weakness. Starting as the lowly medic in ME1 to suddenly Superman in ME2 was quite the welcome transition and really enjoyed how they were toned down and tweaked for ME3. I mean Lift Grenades? I can scatter a room. Neural shock in my overload? Although not class specific, you gave me the hand of god! Not to mention the nice *thwop* a warp can do to his friend who caught the chain overload.

I'm ALWAYS a soldier in ME1. I like using a ton of different weapons.

Otherwise, infiltrator is my all-time favorite since I like sniping and tactical cloak shenanigans. Vanguard is a close second because... vanguard.
