I am a huge fan of Tali, my "canon" playthrough (The first one throughout all 3 games) in there I romanced Tali. She and Garrus are by far the best characters for me. That being said, I do not want to see Tali's face, a huge part of her charm other then the innocence and such is the mystique, I like "fantasising" how she looks.

I would love something less human, more like the aliens in the "A.I." movie. No destinctive faces, just glowing eyes.

Sure... that would be nice....

Tali has to be attractive as an LI. It doesn't work that well when you have Tali looking like Garrus :D

The woman in the photo is quite attractive so I am happy with it.

Sadly, bioware clearly did not have faith that their male community, unlike their female one, would be okay with a "very alien" love interest.

That's not it, it's because they didn't want to put the work in. Five years of game development, and the only races we've seen females of are humans, asari (which convinently look like blue humans) salarian (which convinently lookexactly like the males) and Krogan (which was convinetly covered head to toe in a burka). They didn't want to put time into modeling a new alien species, or gender, and now it's canon that Quarians are humans with three fingers, and white eyes.

I don't even like quarians and this upsets me.

I was hoping that after the recent art book release, that they would go with one of the faces or close to one of the faces in the art book. I was actually really hoping for that small alien face diagonal to the pig face, felt exotic while still being attractive.

I like the look Bioware went with, stock photo or not.

Some day I will do a marathon playthrough, but I will pick a LI with someone that is available through all games. I was really pissed when I played ME2 and my LI was mysteriously missing.

You can practically see her face at times in ME3 and it's pretty much human. I don't think any of the concept art I've seen would do her justice. The "horrible gribbly alien" thing that's all the rage right now is too much asari and the older one with the fringe is kind of "anime human". To my mind, she should be almost identical to a human in features, but her skin should be a sort of rich purple shade, very soft, softer and fairer than humanly possible (maybe some markings?), making an obvious difference, and the eyes you can see through the mask.

Edit: I decided to remove a section, because I really don't want to get into an argument about what was written.

I am of the opinion that BioWare made mistakes on both occasions. Tali was better hidden, and explaining the Reapers closes doors, opportunities, and generally ruins things. It was established in the first game that organics could not fathom them. That really is all explanation we ever need. They are a great mystery and BioWare (in my opinion) should have kept it that way.

Yeah. I had wished she looked more alien too. What are the chances of another race in the galaxy having facial features that are that similar to a human's?

Then again, I am still not sure whether Asari let out a chemical that make other races see the Asari as their race or not. o_0

I always pictured Tali as more along the lines of the elves in warhammer.

Very nice. One of the best renditions yet imo. The other one floating in this thread is also way to human like the stock photo. The image in the OP falls within the confines of the description from the books.

Thanks for this. I'll keep this in my mind as the actual look vs. stock photo...

If they weren't even going to use their own image, they might as well have used a good piece of art instead of a stock photo, right?

Does it really matter? If this is how they decided Tali looks like, then what is the real issue? Too human? ... doesn't it then prove my point that expectations are your own, and they should have kept Tali hidden?

I always thought of tali's face structured somewhat like the geth face but with 2 eyes and an organic sheering effect. Like how the mechs are human designed but with sensor nodes for "eyes".

I like the design they went with, just not the photoshop job itself (maybe they thought that since it just sits on the nightstand it would be okay if it wasnt a perfect image and was just a hint)

"Quarians are generally shorter and of slighter build than humans. Quarians have an endoskeleton, lips, teeth, and two eyes with eyelids and tear ducts; they also have three thick fingers on both hands which include a thumb, an index finger, and a long finger, similar to the middle fingers for humans, as well as three toes on each foot. Quarian facial structure and hair actually makes them the most similar to humans in physical appearance. Their lower legs are bowed backwards significantly, compared to asari or humans. Aside from hands and legs, their general body shape and sexual dimorphism is similar to humans. Their ears or ear analogues differ in a noticeable fashion from those of humans, with references made to "what [passes] for the quarian version of an ear".

From masseffect.wikia.com

OP pic doesn't fit, and I just don't like the second one. I'll be happy when they use Ash Sroka's face for an in-game model, just like Miranda's VA did.

Ultimately that's what I thought would have been best from the get go.  Sroka's already a very attractive woman and she's the reason why Tali's such a likable character.  She sells the personality.  It only makes sense.

Edit:  If anything it should have been a photoshopped picture of her instead.

Quoted from mass effect wikia, good on ya jeffy. I still feel more effort should be made to differentiate quarians from humans, in an attempt to make them appear unique, as well as easily discernible from humans. I now see that the OP picture is a bit of a stretch however it also remains true to the wikia wuote to a certain degree, ie. she has lips teeth and hair. My opinion

It looks like a little boy to me in a quarian suit to me.

The one in the OP is much better for god sake, I dont mean to be a d**k but I really do not understand why people want Quarians to be goddamn humans. The Asari for example, I like the Asari a LOT less than I might have, just cause they are essentially blue humans that live 10 times as long as us. The cheap photoshop one BW made IS a human. <_<

Yeah the one in the OP isn't perfect, but its a damn sight better than this one or what BW has shown. For that she looks like this one/the OP one to me.
