eh not a fan of this myself. Grunt in ME2 said quarians were crispy. Or rather that killing them with a knife was harder than an asari or a human. I always imagined they had rough skin like turians or something because of that.

Any way you slice it though the picture of Tali was a terrible decision. Endings aside it was the worst decision of the game. Either leave it to the imagination or give her an in game face. Pulling an image off the internet? Really? Who sees this idea and thinks "YES!"?

I recall Grunt talking about killing Turians with a knife but nothing abount Quarians.

Grunt was talking about the fact that quarians wear suits.

You can actually see through her visor, and she definitely has a humanoid nose and eye placement. Though one could easily assume that's more laziness than anything. However, if it's not a clue as to their looks, why not make the visor more like a one-way mirror, with no indication of facial features. Having said that, why is it tinted anyway? They left an arid planet, and in space would not really need any kind of solar shielding. If they didn't need the suits on Rannoch, then I can't see any reason for them being tinted. Ah well.

My personal fav fan image of Tali. Wish they just used this one instead of the photoshopped one.

If you load up the model extractor you can see the face under visor (if you must). But I am personally disappointed the magic is gone.

Am I the only one that thinks the first pic in the post looks like you can peel her face off?

That face and the picture we got are basically the same thing: A human in a suit.

It's good that you enjoy that image, it's now more valid than other more exotic takes on the quarians.

This.

Pic in OP is ugly.

I agree, this pic is MUCH better than OP's.
But Im happy with how she turned out anyway. I think one of the books talks about how Quarians look very much like humans, so doing anything different would actually contradict established lore.

In any case: Bioware, start working on a in-game model for the next DLC, I want to have my unmasked Tali!

The fact that BioWare went through with it says a lot about them.

For sure. For something big like revealing a major character's face its like go all the way with it or dont do it at all. I want to hope that this isnt the final product they actually went with, but it is in the game as of now... And it looks terrible.

You're wrong. The book tells how the face of the quarian is much like that of a human, including the nose, eyes and mouth, but at the same time it looks completely alien and clearly not human. The quarian in the book was also bald, so possibly all quarians are bald, or the quarian in the book had just shaved his head.
His skin was also described as leathery, which is clealry different from our human skin.

But in the end, Paul Grayson couldn't really guess how a healthy quarian should look like. The quarian in front of him was tortured, crippled, maimed, burned and scarred. Simply put: what Paul Grayson saw was a horrible mess and it only vaguely resembled of what used to be a quarian.

Looooooooove it. By far my favorite Tali concept. Ears / eyes need changing, obviously. I've never understood why so many people expect Tali to be human-looking... they have wildly different hands, feet, and legs.

Great pics! I was a litte dissapointed that they didn´t reveal her face in ME3, i cant see why not really. But some Tali fans want to se her unmasked, and some want to keep the mystery. So hard choice i guess. But i hope they maybe do it the future somehow, at least show the quarrians without suits.
I would be cool.

It's a neat picture and all, but this one isn't as fond of it as some of the other ones.

As I recall, it's mentioned somewhere - by Wrex I believe - that quarians are physically tougher than humans. I think what is suggested by Wrex (?) is that they have tougher skin? Can anyone confirm this? I think it used to say that on the ME wikia, before their faces were revealed in ME3. Anyways, judging from Tali's picture, their skin seems to be no different from humans. I always pictured them as some sort of reptile and primate hybrid.

Ugh. People bring up that picture over and over again. I guess it's a matter of taste, but I hate that picture.

Oh, I love the detail and artistic value to the picture, don't get me wrong. But it's ugly. The human-style ear on an alien-style face is not appealing in the least, the headfringe is too Turian/Asari, and the face itself looks like it's a mask, and not connected at all to the back of the head.

Again, not ripping on the art. It's fantastic fanart. But it would have made a horrible Quarian.

I actually worked on some concept art just for fun, to explore what they might look like as described by the lore. Never finished it completely, but had a nice design in mind. Guess no point in posting any of that anymore.

Grunt was the one who said that. "He said humans and Asari were soft. Quarians, not so much. Turians, gotta work the blade, I guess."

Ah, thanks for clearing that up :) Well, that sort of hints at their skin being tougher than what is shown in that picture.

I like the Tali we got. :P Javik even said that quarians were seen as atractive by his people. That said both pics on the first page are great too.

Hm, I think he was talking about their suits. Very few people encounter Quarians without them, so it'd be easy to understand if Grunt was talking about getting past their suits. But he could have been talking about their skin layers, who knows?

based on the helmet shape, and the fact that her hands, feet, and eye placement look like a carnivore.  she has a snout and the geth have a snout. i think she is more feline in her face with big eyes. i bet she can purr.
very fine hair on her face yellow cat eyes most likely.
