Am I the only one whose interest in MP is starting to decay rapidly?

Hopefully pistols will get nerfed as well and a much needed boost to ARs.

Keep asking for nerfs and eventually you'll be playing alone. What is it with you people trying to kill everyone elses experiance because YOU think a weapon is too powerful?
Stop with all this nerfing BULLSH*T.

^this, if they nerf the snipers and the pistols anywhere near what they did with the falcon I'll stop playing for sure. No fun playing with weapons that feel like they are shooting bubbles at the enemies.

My interest is decressing because I haven't got the classes I want to play as.

No, since I like playing as all classes. I could usee how playing almost only 1 or 2 classes would get old, but I enjoy (almost) all of them. The Krogan Sentinel, Turian Soldier, Human Engineer and Human Soldier are among my favourites, and while they are not the god-tier classes along with Infiltrators and Biotic users, I can still hold my own and have tons of fun.

I do agree we will need more maps/enemies/game modes sooner rather than later. And the option to pay through the nose for a specific item would also be swell, i guess some people will abuse it to only get Black Widows but at this point it's co-op not competitive.

The short answer is no, not yet.

The slightly longer answer is simply the fact that I love playing my infiltrator. I have a great time with friends and it's just so satisfying to pull off those headshots or take down an Atlas by myself. I still enjoy buying packs and hoping for upgrades and stuff like that too. Even if I had everything unlocked and maxed, I would still play because I really, really enjoy sniping. So until killing stuff with my Black Widow gets boring, I guess I'll just keep on reloading.

If pistols are nerfed, we'll all be down to power spam. Pistols don't need to be nerfed, but other weapon types could use a buff.

I was getting a bit burnt out, and then I promoted my vanguard and tried leveling again. Much fun.

Now that I got the hold of N7 Crusader shotgun, I doubt I'll get bored very easily.

6 Maps, 3 different enemies, 1 type of game, 6 classes whith only two viable builds (caster and sniper). There's only so and so much enjoyment to be had in that, once gold is no problem anymore.

pretty much this. There is no depth to this mode, at all. There are 2 clearly superior weapons (snipers and pistols) and 2 superior class builds (sniper and caster). If the other weapons and builds could actually be effective higher than bronze then there might be some more enjoyment, but as of right now, the mp is just hourly labor to earn credits to then blow on the loot casino.

It's all good and fun, but only up to the point when you realize how much you've played, how many gold matches have you finished, how good you are with your class... Only to realize that you're pretty sick repeating all the same tedious, not-fun-anymore crappy gameplay across 6 maps, against, duh, cerb-geth-reap.

What exactly were you expecting?  You knew there were three enemy types, six levels, and three difficulty settings when you started playing.

FERMi27 wrote...

And you can't even get a weapon you want, no matter how many credits you have.  Lololo-trololo at this idiotic system. I'm starting to think that it'll actually come to the point where I'll abandon the MP completely, with all the useless shotguns and SMGs maxed, without having not one single N7-rarity weapon of my choice. I have Disciple level VI, Geth Shotgun V, Anti-ThresherMaw shotgun level V, all silver SMGs pretty much VIII-X, hell even Claymore level IV. Widow is still level II, and a Black variant is just a high hope.

If you can't get the weapon you want, try using the weapons you have.  I know it's a bit of a stretch but you might even like one of them.

FERMi27 wrote...

I play as a Salarian Infiltrator, and of course I prefer Sniper Rifles. If I had loved shotguns nearly as much as the game thinks I do, I would've played Vanguard or at least a Krogan class. But now, I just don't feel the game to be rewarding anymore. I finish Gold matches, one after one, spend credits and nothing happens. I get some **** I'll never use, so what's the point? Nothing evolves for me, and I'm in no power to change that. The spartanian variety of enemies and maps even makes things worse.

The Mantis and Viper are both excellent sniper rifles.  Your unwillingness to try anything new doesn't help your argument.  Heck, I'm nearly N7 level 300 and still haven't unlocked the salarian infiltrator... but my fun doesn't hinge on unlocking a specific weapon or racial class.

This topic is meant to point the devs towards their main flaws with this mode.

So, Bioware, either you give me a Normandy-styled shop where I can buy a Black Widow for 250k credits, or it's minus me from this EXTREMELY addictive mode. So addictive that I don't know why I even bother, at this point, launching Origin anymore. No more Goliath championships won't save you. Not for long.

Look, if you don't want to play the game, don't play the game.  Don't demand that Bioware basically play the game for you and reward you with all you want for a small sum of credits.

I really think they dropped the ball with multiplayer. There should have been actual missions to discover new information and territories as opposed to a survival mode model. Hate the model for ingame purchases as well, though I am sure it was very effective as a cash cow. I'd prefer to just buy the weapon and characters I wanted to use.

I think the longevity will depend on a lot of things:

- how many hours a day you are playing
- how many friends you play with (when I play with other BW peeps I have a freaking blast)
- how fast you have gotten to gold and/or a point where you can beat it reliably
- how much you enjoy trying new kits/weapons/powers etc. I find myself trying a lot of different stuff.

There will be updates to MP - probably sooner than you think. I just can't get detailed about that yet.

im currently addicted for some reason. I have all characters unlocked and have promoted all classes once already and only have two classes left again now to be full 20 on all again. I like trying out different strategies and weapons. Also just fun to see how much better you can get. Silver is pretty easy for me now. You learn a lot from making lots of mistakes. Last night we played bronze on reactor wow that was boring compared to silver...

I disagree, I think the team did an amazing job given that MP traditionally has not been part of their designs.

I'm using this weapon a lot more than I thought.  I'll never get bored headshotting enemies across the map without a scope.

One of the reasons I'm still playing MP.

I've only tried about a third of the builds with my characters. I've not even used all of the guns I've unlocked yet. Not to mention they will play differently when they reach level X. I only get sick of MP when I've played for more than 3-4 hours in a row.

I think what keeps it fresh for me is the constant mixing of 4 classes during new matches, as well as the random enemies and levels. Farming credits with the same people/classes on the same map/enemy combination gets stale after 2-3 rounds. It's a shame the unknown/unknown options don't generate a +% credit boost instead. I think people would enjoy the MP more.

[edit]

One more thought. I was going to wait and buy ME3 used in about six months to save money. The MP demo was so much fun I preordered the game and haven't even touched single player yet. The MP is highly addictive and a perfect example of why I enjoy gaming so much. Cooperative, challenging, rewarding.

If I was set on a specific class/weapon combo I would have stopped playing a weak ago. My fun comes from experimenting with different classes/specs/weapons. Never thought I would enjoy playing a human soldier. As it turns out, I actually do.
My point: If you're grinding gold for credits with your winfiltrator just to get a specific weapon for the exact same class, you're doing it wrong.

I haven't been burning out on it, but it really could use some updates and expansion.

Also a patch for client side problems.

I think my interest in MP is mostly due to not grinding it to death. I play moderately! It helps, it really does.

@ OP, never played L4D? It's pretty repetitive too.You can't even upgrade weapons or spec characters in that game, yet it's still fun 4 years later. The thing that makes it fun is playing with friends, and the fact that zombies are awesome. You should try it with ME3, you might enjoy it more. (and husks are kinda like zombies, amirite?)

As for weapon unlocks, your chances of getting what you want *will* eventually be higher, if you upgrade all the other weapons to X you won't get them anymore in the packs, making your chances of getting the remaining weapons you have yet to unlock...higher?

I guess using the SI and Cloak, Energy Drain, Snipe 50+ times in a match can get pretty boring. Same goes with the AA and Stasis, headshot all game.

If you have mastered all the characters and races and their abilities on gold, and you get full extraction with your team every single time on gold, good for you.

Unfortunately you are probably in the minority, espescially since the stats relesaed say only 1% of all finished matches are on gold. For the majority of people, the MP still presents a challenge, so I am pretty sure the devs wont fix some of the flaws you speak of.

Even though I agree that the packs are becoming ridiculous in terms of the same thing coming out over and over.

I got the claymore shotgun twice last night. Tried it out wow one shot kill almost every non elite. The problem now is the large cooldown so who to give it to...maybe a sentinel but they are sort of slow. May work better on a fast class that can get in, get a shot off and get out to reload. Otherwise probably krogan i guess.

The inability to get specific items is greatly dragging down my enjoyment.

For example, I've been wanting to try out Turian Soldier + Revenant for weeks, but I haven't gotten a Revenant. I *want* to do this, but the game will not let me, and instead tries to interest me with other things that I would be much more interested in trying out at a later date.

I've promoted classes a few times and built them differently, but I'm mostly interested in Engineers and Sentinels - the only classes I haven't unlocked any new races for. My interest in the Quarian Infiltrator is less than my interest in the Salarian Engineer, so I am less than enthused by the game giving me QI before SE. QI would have been much more fun if I had gotten it after trying SE, because the enjoyment wouldn't be dampened by wanting something else.

The only "cool" thing I discovered by chance unlocks was Human Soldier (Adrenaline Rush) with Falcon - but that is no longer fun after the nerf due to the horrendously slow fire speed.

I'm generally a person who knows what I want. I'm not opposed to testing things out and experimenting with random items, but I want my important stuff first.

People in the forums have said to gradually build up to the spectre pack. Build all your basic weapons with the recruit pack and work your way up. Eventually, when you get to the spectre pack, since all the common and uncommon items have been maxed out, it will be more likely you will get something rare in the spectre pack
