To be perfectly honest, I'm a little bit burnt out from farming credits on gold.

Play each match for fun instead of "farming for credits".

So many times this.  Seriously, it's a game, not a job.

The interest is only going to decay so long as the population continues to get more meta-game obsessed.

"Eww, a Vanguard, kick that."
"We're not fighting geth, that Quarian Infiltrator is useless!"
"SMGs suck! Don't use them at all or you're giming your team!"

These kinds of conversations kill co-op games quickly. Because this type of multiplayer is supposed to be an enjoyable distraction, not some sort of competition.

This continual drive to be absolutely perfect and force everyone around them to play by the same standards as well is bad enough to ruin any community.

Show me a game that died from that.  This behavior is extremely common in WoW, and its still going strong many years later.
With millions of people you get millions of jerks.  Make a friends list and quit whining.

The toughest gold run, in my book, is on the Reaper faction, IF you don't have at least one Asari Adept + one class with powers capable of detonating Asari's biotic attacks. Yes, that is the only real challenge.
Cerberus and Geth, however, are embarrassingly easy. Phantoms go down fast if A krogan/Vanguard/Asari/good sniper is involved. Same goes for geth if the players are good enough to notice cloaked geth hunters in time. Banshees on gold, however... That's why I'll keep playing it from time to time.

I find it's only fun if you have at least one other person with a mic that you can chat with.
A few days ago I met with someone who shared my sexual desire towards the Banshee.
Ignore the bloated stomach and shes pretty hot... Wide mouth, large hands... and shes a screamer.

I think the longevity will depend on a lot of things:

- how many hours a day you are playing
- how many friends you play with (when I play with other BW peeps I have a freaking blast)
- how fast you have gotten to gold and/or a point where you can beat it reliably
- how much you enjoy trying new kits/weapons/powers etc. I find myself trying a lot of different stuff.

There will be updates to MP - probably sooner than you think. I just can't get detailed about that yet.

It doesnt really help if u guys nerf weapens like the falcon. Im bored out of my mind using an asari adept now since that is the only other thing im good at

Then play things you aren't good at and improve. Problem solved.

I'm still loving the MP. There's still a lot of builds I want to test out, a lot of weapons I'd like to unlock still (Black Widow! Where are yoooou), and I still have 2 characters left to unlock (Krogan sentinel and Drell Adept.. classes I thought were more likely to unlock).

And I foresee quite a few events and future dlc. Some has already been confirmed (not announced though).

I've got up to a Black Widow 3 on my pc toons.

Now that some of my friends on xbox want me to play that version too, I'm praying that I won't have to rediscover a Black Widow in my console experience too...

Three shots of Brute-killing firepower is immensely addicting and spoiling. I see now, after the fact, why Spectre Requisitions charged so much for it in single player =(

Much to my surprise, ever since I beat single player, I have played multiplayer almost exclusively, and almost every day. I really dug the single player campaign, and I do plan to play through it with additional characters, but it's harder to carry a character through to the end when I know that the decisions I make have less of an impact on the final scenes than my military strength (which is maxed because I play multiplayer all the time).

As for multiplayer: I have spent three matches farming for credits on Gold, and that was enough to decide I don't enjoy that much. I totally love trying out new classes and figuring out how to use them effectively, though, so I imagine I'll be at this for a while yet (especially if challenge weekends help mix things up every now and then).

To me, the biggest thing is it needs more and different kinds of maps. Now it's just 6 rather limited maps, and I really hate Reactor to boot (I always suck in it, too).

As far as weapon and character unlocks, yeah, it's no secret that I hate the lottery system. Some people say it reminds them of Magic the Gathering and similar booster pack designs... but the huge difference there is that those can be traded, while you can't trade in ME3. So when you play hours and hours and get nothing that you want, it makes even trying to get a certain gun pretty pointless. And of course it's not just about getting a gun... you need to get it another 9 times, which makes the whole thing really, really ridiculous.

Maybe you should just take a break from the game for awhile. Thats what I usually do when a game starts to feel boring and tedious. Just play another game for awhile and then when you wanna come back to ME3, it usually feels fun again!

When I beat a Gold match with every single weapon available and every single class combination THEN I'll be bored.

I am a hardcore gamer. I play atleast 4h a day exept weekends. I own cod 1 till 8, pretty much all of the medal of honor games and tens of other fps shooters. Also mmo's like eve online. I was addicted to me2 for a long while playing all dlc's. Me3...i appearently bought this game too early as it feels incomplete. Even me2 had hidden missions on random planets. Now, when u want to find something its already kinda pointed out. What im saying is it starts feeling like pacman. U just eat a few dots and thats it. Even portal didnt bore that soon becouse every challange was different. You dont seem to have that in me3 even tho it was promised alot of times.

Every mp mission is the same one after another. Add some maps or allow player made maps. Make it more interesting. It is supposed to be the last mass effect right? Then allow us to make player mods for it. Ud be suprised what we can come up with.

I'd really like to see something other than Horde mode. There's a metric tonne of stuff Bioware could add to MP, though; weapon mods, weapons, characters, kits, weapon levels, missions, settings, enemies, modes, player vs. player... heaps of room for movement (and profit, which is EAs bottom line, though DLC).

If you could multiplayer the campaign missions (with difficulties far beyond that of insanity)...

That has me even dreaming of multiplayer'ing rehashed ME1 and ME2 missions. Virmire with squadmates?

Oh heck yeah!

Obviously, you'd insert a generic class in place of "Shepard" b/c Shep is always far too powerful and the squadmates far too weak.

My current Not-Sure-If-I-Want-To-Play-Tonight issues:

1. N7 Rank and Score Board. These are both meaningless in a co-op game and only add to elitism and e-peen stroking. (Hate it even if I am first on the board.)

2. Random Store. We all know this one. I start to think of playing as pointless because that 60,000 will get me another useless item or character. I used to play these types of games for fun and not unlocks.

3. Variety. The same maps and enemies would be fine if we had more objectives and maps that could branch off in different directions. Add some new objectives or boss waves and have the map gradually open up (or be destroyed?).

Right now this is a very basic horde-mode treadmill that starts to lose it's appeal once you've had a go playing as a Quarian or Salarian for a while.

It does appear that there is some loss of interest in MP. I base this on the length of time it takes for me to find a match to join. It used to be almost immediate now it takes several minutes, in fact, sometimes it takes so long people quit and go do something else. We do need more maps and more varied contests. In addition, there should be greater and more immediate rewards. One thing I have found frustrating is that I buy kits but I almost never get anything good. I would recommend dropping the useless ammo reloads as their are ammo catches all over and replace them with more MediGel and shield and health recharge. Also the weapon upgrades should be more plentiful. I believe this would add longevity to MP.

Wise, very wise.... on your points :P Also, I am very excited to see the updates that are coming!
Playing with friends is very rewarding. I guess I'm not burned out because I don't get to play more than a few hours a day. I can't beat gold, yet, but some friends and I are starting to make a good team...and that's only with one of us with a Mic, and he doesn't say a whole lot, IG. Just tosses out some warnings here and there, or advice, which I find helpful, and ask for. I do enjoy other classes, but I don't really enjoy Soldier, or Sentinal, so almost never play them.

Meh, it is getting a little boring so I am taking a week off to enjoy life. Hopefully it will feel fresh when I come back and there will maybe even be a few changes or more content soon.

Just wish they would add some new game modes or difficulties.  Maps and characters are cool and all but won't really prolong the longevity of the game for long.

It gets boring really fast if you play too much of it. Just do a game every now and then and it will not be as boring. Also do crazy shenanigans with friends or just don't play it for a while and it will feel better

I play regularly w/ a bunch of people that have played way too much (we'd probably all be N7 500+ if we bothered promoting, after a certain point you stop). Getting my BW was a painful grind, but now I'm having some fun mixing it up. Last night we started going all Human Engineers in Gold - killing Phantoms by overload spam is honestly one of the most entertaining things I've experienced in the MP (a game the night before where we got all got 15+ grabs (got the gold grab and melees medals) vs Geth in Glacier probably tops the chart for max hilarity.)

I think the most important thing for longevity is making sure you have a mic and that you play w/ other people you enjoy playing w/. It's also a lot more fun when you're not farming... Next may be to start switching to SMGs. I mean, that Locust X is just sitting there. ;)

A Widow I is only slightly more powerful than a Mantis X, with .5 meters of cover penetration. The Black Widow X does less damage than the Mantis X, and has .25 meters of cover penetration. Both weapons weigh, at level 10, 2.0, whereas a Mantis X is 1.0.

I mean, seriously? Do you just have a bone to pick with Infiltrators who keep "stealing ur killz"? If you think the native cover penetration is somehow OP because you can shoot Guardians through their shields, you can do the same thing with the piercing mod and any other rifle.
