Am I the only one whose interest in MP is starting to decay rapidly?

If you play it so much on a frequent basis, it's likely you'll tire of it because the repetition will sink in that much faster. Play in moderation and it'll be more enjoyable, don't try to grind unlocks like mad trying to get that coveted gun or class, etc.

I love ME3 MP. But....

Further to my previous post explaining that I play all the classes, use most of the weapons and don't "Farm" as such, my point is this:

A game that is truly fun, you want to play all the time. If you NEED to play it in moderation to enjoy it as much, then there isn't as much re-play value to KEEP you hooked as you first thought.

No?

I agree with this. You can't say a developer did "a great job" if you can't play the game for hundreds of hours and still not get bored of it.

yes. its getting to the point where theres not much point in playing more games. I have a few X rares and found the best weapon was in the commendation pack: the n7 valiant. and who knows when another is going to drop. prob not even the next event. the only thing I want is another n7 valiant card or BW (maybe paladin just to try) and no other reward is usable except for the achievement of unlocking a weapon level.

I play a lot so, yes, I mix it up with Tribes ascend for a "PvP shooter" but, I like mass effect and how it runs. Want them to add more game modes, and if they listen to their fans it should come in time.

If it makes you feel any better I don't have a Saber or Scorpian, but I have a Black Widow III

Because of my busy schedule I usually only get 1-2 hours a night - that seems to be "just right" for keeping me addicted so far :)

Exactly this - if you play the game obsessively then complain about a lack of longevity then that's just silly.  Obviously there's going to be less longevity than, say, Battlefield or Call of Duty, as those are arguably purely MP games.

Re the longevity - I agree that the MP was not designed to be played non-stop. But the problem is that the unlock system doesn't match up with the replayability of the content.

It takes on average an hour of playing to get a spectre pack, given that only 1% of successful extractions are on gold (according to bioware's stats). That spectre pack often doesn't yield anything you want. Even when you get a sought-after weapon, you're now driven to upgrade it, especially if you play classes that depend on reducing weapon weight. And often, a rare or N7 weapon at level 1 is inferior to your level 10 common weapon, so you can't even use your new unlock until you get it a few more times.

So the game's own incentives yield very little progress for an hour of playing. So people are going to grind for hours to get that black widow etc. If the game's content isn't varied enough to keep that grind fun, it's a design flaw.

The game either has to make an hour of playing more rewarding, or create enough content to keep things interesting.

Multiplayer would thrive from a trading system.

Those stats are quite "old", I'm sure Gold missions are now much more succesful and numerous, since most people got experience and new gear.

I still think an hour for a spectre pack is a generous assumption.

Multiplayer is fine really. Sure co-op would be even more fun. They dropped the ball with the kits though. Trying to unlock a gun, not to mention upgrade it, is a joke.

just start playing with different classes/weapons. I had the same problem where i was trying to get widows for my infiltrator but just kept getting shotguns. So i started playing as an adept with a sub and now im getting widows

you know it would be more fun if we had to save up forever to buy guns and upgrades. honestly ive opened so many spectre packs that ive lost all expectation from them so half the time i open it, see if i got med gel, quickly glance over the items, close it, then realize i dont even remember what useless load of **** i just got. kinda like when you look at your watch and then have to double check it cause you shrugged it off. this system sucks balls

I enjoy it. Although I do it more to promote my N7 team so that if and when they fix the ending I can replay the game at my leisure and not worry about getting enough EMS for "best ending" if you can call it that.

I personally love it, and like to play all classes. So, I'm not restricted to one sort of weapon and like to play with most of them. And good for me cause yesterday, a friend, who's also a casual player, bought his first specter pack...and he told me : "Ok, i got something called "black widow, is it good ?"... I personally already had a widow and a valiant, but still...

Meanwhile, my interest in it doesn't increase as the time goes by. Platinum difficulty please? With friendly fire off and all enemies shielded. Please make it happen Bioware!

I actually like the multiplayer, I just wish they would add more maps for diversity and perhaps more game modes. Not to mention several bugfixes which are quite needed.

You guys are missing one significant factor in extending the life of any multiplayer game: Battle music. Whether it's your favorite lyrical music, epic music, or video game soundtrack, battle music will make it more interesting. Works for me.
