Am I the only one whose interest in MP is starting to decay rapidly?

After the full game came out, my intrest did. With the demo, I was playing MP for days straight. Then the game came out and I had to start over with the sucky weapons and characters and I just don't feel like going through all that. I want awesome weapons and characters NAO!!!

I'd have to say if I purchased the game ONLY for multiplayer then yes perhaps like most FPS games I would be bored in about a month or two, feeling like the game was just same stuff.

Considering however, I enjoy playing with my friends and its a great way to be able to jump on and have 4 of us play together incredibly easily I find the game rather enjoyable.

Pretty sure as said before too, if you're playing this game many hours each day, like most games it will become boring after some time, the multiplayer isn't a stand alone game afterall, and I'm just happy to finally have a MP mode for the game.

just wanted to say i agree very strongly with the OP. also this mode is so disappointing compared to other such modes such as firefight in reach or even gears and its horde mode that apparently "started" it all. wish u customize **** about the match and enemies like in firefight or increase how long matches can go on for etc. there is so much potential in game modes such as these but bioware chose to make the bare minimum of such mode. just blows.

It's all good and fun, but only up to the point when you realize how much you've played, how many gold matches have you finished, how good you are with your class... Only to realize that you're pretty sick repeating all the same tedious, not-fun-anymore crappy gameplay across 6 maps, against, duh, cerb-geth-reap.

And you can't even get a weapon you want, no matter how many credits you have.  Lololo-trololo at this idiotic system. I'm starting to think that it'll actually come to the point where I'll abandon the MP completely, with all the useless shotguns and SMGs maxed, without having not one single N7-rarity weapon of my choice. I have Disciple level VI, Geth Shotgun V, Anti-ThresherMaw shotgun level V, all silver SMGs pretty much VIII-X, hell even Claymore level IV. Widow is still level II, and a Black variant is just a high hope.

I play as a Salarian Infiltrator, and of course I prefer Sniper Rifles. If I had loved shotguns nearly as much as the game thinks I do, I would've played Vanguard or at least a Krogan class. But now, I just don't feel the game to be rewarding anymore. I finish Gold matches, one after one, spend credits and nothing happens. I get some **** I'll never use, so what's the point? Nothing evolves for me, and I'm in no power to change that. The spartanian variety of enemies and maps even makes things worse.

This topic is meant to point the devs towards their main flaws with this mode.

So, Bioware, either you give me a Normandy-styled shop where I can buy a Black Widow for 250k credits, or it's minus me from this EXTREMELY addictive mode. So addictive that I don't know why I even bother, at this point, launching Origin anymore. No more Goliath championships won't save you. Not for long.

Note to OP, SG's are just as good on your Salarian as a SR is.  Just saying!

100% agree, now I do tend to play alot, but its absurd.

I prefer to die immediately after wave 10 credits, no incentive to go further, random unlocks are microtransaction gimmick

idk...its just boring almost now, but I do love ME gameplay. TW2 cant get here soon enough though

agreed. as much fun as it is to play, same maps, mode, and enemies is getting boring. ME3 MP has huge potential. I do hope BW/EA are planning on releasing additional modes for MP. One mode I would have liked to see out of the box is coop playing together to accompish a mission, while moving through a large map from one end to the other, for instance.

all that said, I am glad they did make MP for ME3. It is fun, no question, and addictive - yes indeed. just getting repetitive and needs expansion.

Oh, ME3's MP doesn't have anything in the way of longevity. Which is kinda hilarious because it was probably tacked on because some guy at EA thought it would be a great way to keep people playing it longer.

but you know what the issue is you NEED it for the single player game.  Trying to get perfect without it is a bit stupid since all the sidequest are fetch for this crap quest...seriously everything is going to end and you want me to go get your bible?  Go die in a f'en fire.

But yeah I kind of like repetitive stuff so this is fine, however I would like more maps and maybe another few different race to play against.

Cause customizing the game modes and weapons/shields/dmg and enemies is really in depth, firefight is just a retards playground full of same enemies, same weapons, same players, on the same maps.  Furthermore firefight isn't even connected to halo other than its use of the same enemies, maps, blah blah same same same.  Firefight is just an arcade mode with scoreboard whoring worse than almost any other game, that style of play would make any team play intended in ME3 voided.

Honestly if you like firefight reach, play firefight reach for what it is, thats not what ME3 MP is, and if it became that way it wouldn't make it any better, you'd get some customization to difficult etc of the game, oh wait, like picking bronze, silver or gold?

Halo =/= ME just because both have guns doesn't make them comparable.

I like the multiplayer, i HATE the weapon unlock system...

Random packs make my hours and hours and hours of play useless because i still don't have the only friggin gun I want... the widow, I have probably spent close to a million creds on spectre packs and I have nothing to show for it. It's stupid.

I agree that the multiplayer needs some new maps/ objectives because it's definitely getting a bit stale.

I have been grinding MP solid since the pre-release and starting yesterday the grind really started to get to me. The combat is fun and IMO greatly improved from ME2 but after you get the builds panned out, and the only thing you have left are N7's, chasing them is beyond tedious due to their ridiculous rarity and sadly the Premium Spectre Pack doesn't seem to help.

I'm huge FPS player ... that begin said, for the life of me I can't get enough of ME3 MP!!!

I don't know what it is but the rush that comes when you are overwhelmed by enemies and your teammates are getting downed and it's up to you to go clutch is just really epic. I don't see myself getting bored anytime soon. New weapons, characters, and maps will only make it more awesome but I'm content with what there is already.

I play it a LOT and while it is tedious at times, it is still a lot of fun. Definitely needs new maps and enemiy factions/units. Where's the Geth Hoppers? Geth Snipers? Armatures?

For Reapers, having a Harvester drop by every so often to dump a load of enemies where they shouldn't be would be wild. Where's my Vorcha hordes?

Cerberus should have more deployable defenses, and the ability to force a skirmish line forward insistently. This would require some revised AI scripting of course, but would give each side a dramatically different feel.

More differentiation of boss enemies would be good. "Hey, does that Brute have a Ravager cannon on its back?!? Take cover!!" Something to break the static defense grind. Right now, Banshees and Phantoms are the only adversaries that call for a wildly different strategy - most are just a matter of dps to death. Needs a more dynamic approach. I'd also like to see alterations in how the Geth play based on their numbers (fits canon, right?). Make them hard to deal with until you've thinned their numbers a bit.

Lots they could do still. Have to wait for the first big patch to see if they will though. I remain hopeful, if for no other reason than because EA may see it as a cash source.

I really think they dropped the ball with multiplayer. There should have been actual missions to discover new information and territories as opposed to a survival mode model. Hate the model for ingame purchases as well, though I am sure it was very effective as a cash cow. I'd prefer to just buy the weapon and characters I wanted to use.

I disagree, I think the team did an amazing job given that MP traditionally has not been part of their designs.

Your free to disagree, as i am free to disagree with you disagreeing. You guys really dropped the ball with the way your inagme store works.

I rather would have had the option to trade bioware points for credits and having an ingame store which does allow me to buy the items i need. Like when i need Medigel i go to the store and buy 1 Medigel for 1000 credits or something. It would be more expensive, to get the same amount of items, but at least i would get what i need and want. Instead of getting a lottery ticket which gives me everything but what i need or want.

If N7 would be as expensive as they are in the Singleplayer and you would have to buy it over and over again, it would still take a long time to get a specific N7 weapon. And if we assume that lets say a gold one would be around the price for 1 spectre pack, per level, it would still be a lot of credits you have to collect to upgrade.

Or gold items are 100000 or 150000 Credits... N7 1000000 credits or something. It would give something to work towards and wouldn't frustrate the players as much to spend that 1000000 Credits and not getting anything they wanted.

And yes, of course, you'd say the team did great, and probably i am inclined to agree considering their lack of knowledge about it, but that doesn't mean you guy didn't drop the ball. You can still do a good job and being far from being perfect or the need to improve and do a better job.

Little variety helps. If you get bored of multiplayer, try single player. If you get bored of Mass Effect 3 altogether, try another game then come back.

You might just be burned out. So take a break, stretch your legs and come back when you're ready.

I'm now only doing multiplayer to keep up my galactic readiness rating. I've played the carrot on the stick game for 5 years before this in a certain game I choose not to mention. Not a big fan of RNG, so I figure I would just play MP once in a while to keep my galactic readiness rating from going back to 50%.

The current shop system is like a trading card game and its booster packs. Except without the part where you can buy a card you want individually.
Doesn't bother me too much, I got a Javelin already, and I haven't played all that much.

I loved the way how they make purcashing weapons like a tcg. It always makes me wonder what am I gonna get on the next booster. But yes, I also dissapointed with the MP. From astonishing to boring really quick.

So what has changed after a month?

May 12 Update
As of now, my interest in ME3 MP is totally gone. I've gotten the Valiant recently and the Black Widow... But even that didn't bring my interest back to life. I'm not sure anything less than new factions or game modes can bring it back now.

And as the days pass by, the numbers will increase. But the "kill X million <enemy type here>" weekend goals will always keep on succeeding... Even when the game will be abandoned completely. Just because it's marketing and nothing more. A way to make people purchase packs for Bioware Points.
